Thought I'd check in while my munchkin is still sleeping. Chili is simmering. I got some taping done on card parts.

Ooops there he is now. Almost 3 hours!

Ouch on the pulled muscle Donna. Hope you get better soon!

EEK! on the guns! We are not allowed to carry guns here in Canada...and I am happy about that. I don't like guns...at all...they scare me. I'm also glad that I don't have to worry about others carrying guns. Do doubt! There are probably some that do illegally...but they are VERY few and VERY far between. And that place you described, Donna? They one where you don't have to lock your doors? I think I live there! Now, if you go to St. John's there is more crime...perhaps because there are more people. But here, it is very rare. And I can live with that!

I am hoping to get a bunch of stuff done this weekend. I'm not making a list because it will be too overwhelming! And I will be disappointed if the weather does not cooperate with the outdoor stuff that has to be done. Not sure what will get completed this evening...perhaps nothing but resting...but I will make a short list tomorrow...or a "Got this done" list and a "next I'm going to do this" list.

On the not making a list...

This would be my suggestion...

Make a list for each area that is going to be your focus...as well as one for outside areas...

The priority is whatever you are doing...it gives you a visual idea of what needs doing and you will spend less time going from place-to-place and accomplishing nothing but moving air...

Lists are good...they don't have to dictate what you do but they can remind you what needs doing...

I ran to NP for a 10 pound bag of sugar...should be able to get 3 batches of strawberry jam out of that and Aldi can wait for another day...

I just ask my family members to not pull it out when I'm around...I know they pack at times...and it is legal for them...but they don't normally carry when going into NP but I do know one of them packs when going to church because he's been asked to (churches are getting money stolen after the offering is gathered.)...and one of them packs because of the neighborhood where he works...

Every day life...doesn't need one...

It's sad that they have to do that, though. I wish we lived in a world where there was no need. Unfortunately, we don't.

My dad has guns for hunting, but, by law, they all need to be registered and have trigger locks when he is not in the wilderness ready to knock down an animal. I still don't like those either. Brent wants one for hunting...I said only if he has a gun cabinet in the garage that can be locked. I just get the heebee jeebee's!

Ours all have safety locks and are in gun cabinets...we have lots of children in and out of our house and no one packs at home!

The big event when a child turned 18 was to know where the gun cabinet keys are hidden!!!! None of the 3 children knew where they were...so we were good hiders...and now...2 of us don't know where they are by our choice...

With knowledge comes responsibility and we don't want the responsibility...

Of course we have hunting guns too...cause Red Bear is a hunter...no one else is...but they all target practice on a regular basis "for the fun of it"...whatever "it" is!

Now...back to the next batch of jam...

Almost ready to head out. All of the flights were sold out & had people on stand by, so Kevin didn't get an earlier flight home.

He enjoyed the weather in NC, he said it might be a place to move.

Weekend List: What I would LIKE to get done:

Wash windows inside and out (7/18 done on the outside...1/18 done on the inside)
Clean my bathroom from floor to ceiling
Clean the laundry room from floor to ceiling
Mop the living room/computer area/entrance/two halls floor
Mop the kitchen floor
Clean the kids bathroom from floor to ceiling
Regular kitchen/living room cleaning
Change the sheets on all beds

Things I HAVE to do:
Read chapter 5 of Organizational Behavior
Do OB questions
Fill out scholarship forms
Take Nick to a birthday party tomorrow
Go to the bank
Buy paint

I KNOW I am not going to get all of this done. I do, however, have Brent to help me so I can get more accomplished than if I was by myself.

It's better today, thanks. I was toting 2 bags in each hand of CPR mannequins (each bag had 1 adult, 1 infant, 1 AED, 1 ea face mask, ped & adult BVM). I'm thinking that I was trying to keep from dragging them on the floor and pulled a low pelvic something. It's still letting me know its there but not as bad as last night. Thankfully.

Goes to the "Trying to do the job by myself" mentality. I really need to get over that. LOL

It is a beautiful place to live, pretty much any where in the state.

Janeen - the hurricanes aren't as bad as you'd think though we've had a few bad years for them. In our area we have mostly had a bit of wind and some rain.

Hey y'all! I went to get Archer at school earlier because Jeff hurt his knee. He's at the massage place right now so I hope they can help him. I hate to see him hurting and he will NOT be happy if he can't work out. He doesn't like doing it, but he doesn't like not doing it either.

My errands took longer than they should have and I am tuckered out. Thought I'd be able to get what I needed/wanted at Target and Michaels and ended up having to go to the grocery store and Hobby Lobby, too. Thankfully, no big plans this weekend. We didn't get to craft today, but we can some things tomorrow and decorate. I did get some little pumpkins to put out back and if it doesn't rain maybe we can even eat out there tomorrow.

oy. I have no idea what all has been happening here... but in my corner, I'm paddling as hard as I can trying to stay afloat

updates:
car - appraiser came yesterday; said there was no way it would be written off
detailing company called today - they are coming for the car on Tuesday and will do a super clean of it. After that, I hope to be able to take it somewhere to get tested to ensure there aren't any chemical vapors still entering it from anywhere

school - oy. It's going to be a lot of work this term. Only one major assignment for the one class, but it also requires weekly online participation. The other class has 3 smaller papers, one larger paper, a 2-week study to prepare & lead and a 1-day retreat to prepare and lead. I won't be around these parts much.

Tomorrow we are celebrating DD1's b'day. I get to see Baby A - she's 15 lbs already (2 months) and I think B is only 16 lbs (8 months) It'll be lots of fun though to have both here!! and then we'll see if we can get some family photos on Sunday - that should be fun with both little ones

on the car on the classes but i know your heart and you will do well.

Happy bday to DD1 and our adopted daughter brought over her baby so Grandpa Gilbert could hold him a bit. He is four months old and 15 pounds. She's not really adopted but a very very close friend b/c her parents are our very close friends. She is forty and just had her first. He's a sweetie for sure.

Edith, squeezes! Know you're being thought of during all the school craziness! Drop in when you can and don't bother trying to catch up. We'll pm you if something major happens!

Boo. Hiss. On the car. I hope that it will be completely clean and wonderful and not cause any problems at all but I still resent the trouble.

Hip hip hooray for birthdays with sweet babies! And isn't funny seeing a chunky baby next to a tiny one? Love it! Love, love, love it!

Good Saturday morning to you all.

We are all packed up and the car is nearly ready to go. We'll be heading out in the next 1/2 hour. The beach is calling my name louder each day and today it is beginning to be a muted scream. LOL

I hope you all have a great weekend and upcoming week. I'll be on a bit but not like normal.

Kra - good googamooga (don't want you to miss out).

Love and laughter to you all.

updates:
car - appraiser came yesterday; said there was no way it would be written off
detailing company called today - they are coming for the car on Tuesday and will do a super clean of it.

Hugs, Edith! Hope everything works out with the car. And I KNOW everything will work out with school! You can do it!

Happy birthdayoy to DD1 and enjoy the babies tomorrow!

Good morning! Gotta continue on with my list today...Nick has a birthday party to go to...I'm not looking forward to that, since there are so many things that I need to get done here. But, I will do it for my little boy! Or convince Brent to do it for his little boy. Whatever works!

That's so nice the they brought the baby to visit you and Gilbert! There is nothing like that new baby smell!

Edith, don't settle for anything less then perfection on the car. I hope that scool is very rewarding, even though its a lot of work, hang in there!

Donna, I'm hearing the beach screaming for me as well. Although I have 2 more weeks to wait. Have fun!

Patricia, the home things will wait, enjoy these little adventures that make the little ones happy. It won't be long and they will be driving themselves!

I needed this because...

I AM CRABBY

DID.NOT.SLEEP.WELL... HOT FLASHES EVERY 30 MINUTES

Was it the ONE piece of chocolate at 7 PM or the supper at 8:45 PM? I don't know but I am CRABBY this morning...I am going to defrost that freezer and see if I can cool off! (okay, I may be crabby but I haven't lost my sense of humor completely!)

A little change in plans...Brent is taking Nick to the party (they don't get to see each other all week) and I am going to go to Port aux Basques to take in a flea market with my mom! It starts in an hour so I gotta be outta here in 20 minutes! Off to get ready!

Morning. Kra, hope you have a good weekend it is supposed to cool so maybe that will help.

Donna, I would love to go to the beach with you. My DB and SIL who live in Kinston, NC go so often I am envious.

Today DD will stay here with Gilbert and I will go down to the church convention meetings. She is a sweetie. I will do a scan when I get back and see if I can catch up with your postings. Usually sat. Is kind of a quiet posting day.
