Cher - the price tag is less than if we'd had the dealership do it. The part alone from them would have been about $600 then the labor. We're getting the part for $350 plus $200+ for labor. So thankfully we're getting off cheap.

I'll go check out that other Bible study and see what it's about. I really enjoy Beth Moore's studies.

Cher - excited for you that Zack and his mommy are coming home tomorrow. I'm also happy for them that they are getting their new home soon as well. I have to say that I'm one of those who get excited about moving. I think I must have some nomad in me. I'd love to be able to pack all my things up, move everything out, clean top to bottom, paint where I'd like and put it all back. Somehow having nothing in the space gives you a new prospective to your space.

I NEED A LIST...

Time to reset my brain to focus on what needs doing as for 48 hours life has been all about 4 extras...

They are gone and I am sad...

But...reality...

I DID NO LAUNDRY and it is already Tuesday evening...I'm going CRAZY...

PLUS...2 bushels of apples are waiting for me...

My house itself is in fine shape...I stayed on top of that but...I must get changed and make a list...

Supper---sweet corn (Red Bear worked with a neighbor and he sent home corn from his field!)

Kra & Angie - I love going to the movies, though I don't get to go very often. Years ago when "Thin Red Line" came out we went to a conference and decided to go to the movie instead of one of the classes. We paid for a hotel room and the drive of 4ish hours to go see a movie that was playing in our home town. LOL

Angie - What kind of movies do you like? I DO.NOT.like horror movies. I don't sleep well after and for days or longer, especially if they are even loosely based on real-life events. We seem to like military, history, comedy, relationship kinds of movies.
Sorry!!!! Steve was home today and so I disappeared! Then when I tried to get on Google told me I couldn't because of Malware......SO.....I am just now getting on again.

I checked that book out of the library too.

I DO NOT like horror either. I will watch but I PREFER not to watch anything with a sad ending. I am not sure what that says about me, probably something not good, but I like to feel good at the end of a movie, it's my entertainment. I do experience enough hard things, I just don't enjoy seeing HARD things played out.

I will watch action movies, mostly for Steve's sake but I enjoy some. I enjoy the super hero movies, oh yes, I do! (Steve does not, I cannot figure that out) Seth and I have a blast watching them. I LOVE old movies! Love Cary Grant, Doris Day, oh...gosh... I could go on long! I love musicals, and recently became a fan of the historical....is that what you would call things like Jane Eyre and Pride and Predjudice?

Steve and I watched Invictus today! That type of movie inspires me and even though it touches on hard things it has a good ending.

Sorry, this was probably more than you asked for but I am a HUGE fan of the movies. I don't just like them for the story but I like the way a director makes the story come to life, the sets, etc! (love looking at the sets of old movies!!!)

We can take it to court here too...you have so many days to do it...the number escapes me now, but Mr. Cop Man told me. And I deserved the ticket too! Today, however, I would have asked for the court appearance because I did not speed at all!!! Too scared to get tickets two days in a row! The police were on the go like crazy here yesterday, though. One of my classmates daughter got one for tinted windows and one for not wearing a seatbelt.

That was very nice of him to let you off with speeding when you were going to help out someone! I could have pretended to be in a rush to get to the hospital to do surgery! I don't know what I would have done if he had given me a police escort though. I'll stick to telling the truth...it has worked for me for 34 years so far!

Paula, I just watched "Pride and Prejudice" the other night your line is making me smile.

Elizabeth says about taking a turn about the room,

Caroline Bingley: It's refreshing, is it not after sitting so long in one attitude?
Elizabeth Bennet: And it is a small kind of accomplishment, I suppose.

You sounded so elegant!

I am glad to hear that Jeff cancelled!!! One parent down at a time is hard enough!!!

I love movies too, Angie! Almost all types: action, adventure, drama, horror (as long as its not those awful torture movies), childrens, comedy, you name it! I also enjoy the super hero movies, so you and I would get along great at the cinema! Bring Melissa along and we could all enjoy Ironman! He is one of my favorite superheros (from the movies)...my favorite of all being Thor...he's yummy! Brent already knows that Thor is my "movie boyfriend"!

Haha! Thanks!

My top 4 favorite Jane Austen movies are:
Sense and Sensibility with Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman - I ADORE Alan Rickman, especially when he's not the bad guy!

Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth - because you know you are awesome when you not only play the actual character but the character based on your character in the updated version of the film. Anyone follow that? And what's better than 2 hours of Pride and Prejudice? 6.

Persuasion with Ciarian Hinds and Amanda Root - it's slower paced than the others, but so, so good.

Emma with Gwyneth Paltrow - not the most faithfu or sophisticated telling, but very well-paced, Gwyneth was radiant as Emma, and I fell in love with Jeremy Northam's Mr Knightley. I had the proposal memorized for a very long time.

I like old movies, animated movies, action movies, war movies, period pieces, war movies, comedies, suspense, mystery, sci-fi, British movies, musicals, dramas, and romance. If they're good.

I do not like slashers, torture movies, movies where every third word is profane, movies with terrible dialogue, movies that think special effects will replace a plot, movies that have 8 or 9 different subplots but no main plot to hold it together, and I typically do not like movies based on a saturday night live sketch. Those movies usually have some truly hysterical bits in them, but should really only be 20 minutes long. I also don't like movies like The Departed. I can totally see why it won best director. It's well written, well acted, too, but I just didn't feel like I got anything out of that story. I feel the same about Unforgiven, There Will Be Blood, and No Country For Old Men. I can watch Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan, though.

I can watch vampire movies, werewolf movies, zombie movies that aren't too gross, but you are not going to catch me watching actual horror movies. Either they are awful - why waste your time - or they are good and therefore actually scary - no thanks.

Not too much information. I think I could go along with you to the movies too. I have not seen Invictus but was interested in it when the trailers came out...anything with Clint Eastwood would be fine with me. Like you, I love the oldies and musicals as well. I have a few that are standbys for when I'm a bit down as well. I have a group of actors I will almost always try to see in movies. Steven Stegal, Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, Clint Eastwood, Diane Keaton, Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler, Seah Connery, Colin Firth to name a few.

I rarely get to GO to the movies but I do watch many on TV or DVD.

I LOVE Schlinder's List and Saving Private Ryan!

I like the good horror movies...usually a good ghost story that can scare the socks off ya! Anything that is awful or has parts where you want to scream "Run, you fool! DON'T GO UPSTAIRS TO CHECK OUT THE NOISE!"...those, I can do without! I did like "The Others" and "The Six Sense". They had the ending where you said "OMGosh! I didn't see that coming!" I guess, really, I like scary movies and not the horror (slasher, gross, gory type). Although...sometimes...when I am really bored... I watch cheesy 80's horror movies . Shhhh...don't tell anyone!

I also love "The Wizard of Oz"...and one of my all time favorites is Jurassic Park (all except the awful last one!).

I agree Patricia - LOVED Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List. Still don't like Titanic (the stupid boat always sinks and certainly was not nearly as good as Saving Private Ryan at all). We ALWAYS watch The Wizard of Oz but we have to wait until dh isn't here to watch it. He has issues with it from childhood and having to sing one of the songs in front of the school. It just doesn't seem like Christmas if we don't watch It's a Wonderful Life, Scrooge, A Christmas Story, Miracle on 34th Street (the orginial) and White Christmas (Bing Crosby just does it for me - that man just opens his mouth and a melodious noise comes out). I love Singing in the Rain, Damn Yankeys, pretty much anything in black and white. Then I see movies like Manequin and think of my kids and the steps all 5 playing like they were in the band. And then there's the suspense ones like Double Jeopardy, Kiss the Girls, Lovely Bones and so many more. And I LOVE Medea movies. They are just too much. OK enough from me ref movies. LOL

You might like Cabin in the Woods directed by Joss Whedon. It looks like a typical teen scary movie, but isn't quite. There is language, there is some gore. For it's genre, though, it was pretty good. And Thor's brother is in it.

I just read the info on it and I probably would like it! When I heard "Cabin in the Woods" I thought "Oh! That HAS to be a killer or killers hiding out in the woods and pecking them off one by one." So I didn't watch it. But, it seems interesting now. And, well, if it doesn't have Thor, his brother is the next best (OMGosh! I just wrote breast! LOL!) thing!!

It was on Facebook that they knew, and that it's fixed, but Google just hasn't caught on yet.

Well, it is 9:30 in these parts and that only means one thing...BEDTIME! I'm off to pick out the clothes and get the short people in bed. Well...shorter than me people. Jarod only has 4-5 more inches to go and he won't fall into that category anymore but, for now, it works!

Good night, ladies! I wish you all a peaceful sleep and a great day tomorrow! It was nice chatting about movies tonight! Thank you all!

wow, tired, i am! vacuumed up here, cleaned the basement apartment top to bottom for the kiddos coming home this week. spent the day in Wausau til 2:30, had boughten hamburgers for supper from the local grill and now both DH and I feel like it's ten o'clock already.

Will say good night but i think i am going to go in and clean the stamp room. I did get my forty cards made for the order. I need to look at them and make sure my logo is on the back, maybe see if i need to add an inside sentiment. Make sure the backs are clean and don't need some DP put over them to cover up any blobs of accidental ink.

Tomorrow is another big day. this idea of easing back into things is definitely a necessity. Cardio Rehab and an insurance meeting tomorrow and a Bible Study tomorrow evening so it will be a big day.

I loved Jurassic Park s well. The Notebook for tear jerker and of course I liked all the sparkley vampire movies. I like happy ever after movies and books for the most part. Although I like some action movies, I've watched every Bourne movie several times with dh.

I think Schlinder's List and Amistad should be mandatory movies before high school graduation.

I managed to get a card in today

Skyped with Lee, she is all good. Just a little basement water, no problem compared to many there.

Oh the movie discussion was so fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my, I replied to everyone but when I hit submit it was ENTIRELY TOO LONG!!!! So I have deleted it!

Suffice it to say, You all have wonderful movie lists and comments! LOVED reading every word!!!!

Joyce, I like Disney and well written kids movies too! thanks so much for the update on Lee!!! Her stamp room isn't in the basement is it?

I am just going to say that "Schindler's List" should be seen by all even ones like me that don't like sad movies. There are some things that we should NEVER forget and this movie is powerful.

Paula, It's about time for me to watch the 6 hour P&P again. I just watched the 2 hour one a couple of night's ago. SIGH! Persuasion have 2 of them and enjoy them very much. I have THAT "Sense and Sensibility" and I don't remember it, perhaps that will be my next movie to watch!

Ok, I am going to stop now but I really want to just chat about movies and comment on what everyone said!!! LOL

Everyone has too much to do tomorrow to follow my movie chat so I will say good-night!

I will be thinking of everyone as they get on with their busy days! I won't be popping in until later in the day.

Hugs!

DITTO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will watch action movies, mostly for Steve's sake but I enjoy some. I enjoy the super hero movies, oh yes, I do! (Steve does not, I cannot figure that out) Seth and I have a blast watching them. I LOVE old movies! Love Cary Grant, Doris Day , oh...gosh... I could go on long! I love musicals, and recently became a fan of the historical....is that what you would call things like Jane Eyre and Pride and Predjudice ?

DITTO AGAIN!!!!!

Heehee....sorry....too much to catch up on today. But I couldn't resist adding my 2 cents in here! We should have an online movie pajama party!!!!!

It's a really rough week....and tomorrow morning is going to be the worst. But hopefully after that we'll begin the process of putting our rental home life back together.....I'll update you all tomorrow nite.....I bet it will be late before we get to Denver though.

Omg! I had bronchitis once. I think it's the worst I've ever felt. I remember being in the waiting room of the er in England (American military hospital) and laying on the floor because I couldn't even bear to sit up.

Hoping and praying that you get better soon!!!

Today's Mini Mission:

We are on floor duty today... let's clean the floor in the bathroom, through any throw rugs into the washing machine.... in the "other" room, let's put away anything that doesn't belong on the floor.

Wish I had done this yesterday while I had hot soapy water! But , then again I couldn't have gotten that industrial sized bucket across my carpeted bedroom. So I will use a small bucket today.

I think ddil n Z must have made it on their flight. They are traveling standby because they are using a free pass from dh. Having a husband that works for an airline does have its advantages!

So Misti, I gotta ask. Do these mini missions come from flylady or do you make them up?

I'm glad I got up extra early so that I could relax with coffee and chat time! I was also rewarded with Bambi's in my back yard! I always enjoy watching them!
