Kra - glad you got your flour so that you feel a bit more relaxed for the winter - But I have to ask, will 6 bags be enough to get you through the winter? If so I have to wonder what size bags they are. I am envisioning 5 lb bags.

Repair guys came and fixed. It was a fan. There are two and one wasn't working. About 1/3 the price of the new fridge we were looking at. So yay!

So far today:
Swish and swipe front bathroom
Wash sink dishes
Living room rescue
Wipe down stovetop
Some general pick up in the kitchen

Next:
Clean up in my room 15 minutes
Choose felt for needlebook
Start challah

Need to remember to vacuum under my fridge this weekend...supposedly it helps the compressor to function more easily.

Apples...will finish the last of them today...apple peeling starts at 9 AM CT...(do you realize we have CT for only 4 months of the year?)

Yesterday was a test day for wedding hair style...was going to have someone take a picture but it didn't happen...

We've been in the car almost 2 hours. We have a shoot today. Kevin will be the only judge, I probably need to take the class & get official, but I think it might look funny for us to be the only judges at an event our kids are shooting.

There was something I wanted from HL, but at this moment I can't think of what it was. Oh, well!

Morning! Having a slow morning. Two out of three kids up very early.

I saw on instagram last night that my neighbor is having a no-sugar November so I've decided to join her until Thanksgiving. I have been munching fun size candy bars like they're about to become illegal and it has to stop. That said, I'm not missing pumpkin pie for anything. Happily, I do not take sugar in my coffee.

We have no plans today except I need to run some books to the library. I've maxed out my renewals on a few of them.

Will be commenting on HYCCT off and on this weekend. There are an amazing amount of cards!

busy day ahead as we celebrate DD2s birthday (from last month)... it just worked out that everyone can be here this weekend so birthday celebration it will be

that means that I will also avail myself of the extra help and get my winter tires put on my cars... and maybe they can put up the christmas lights? that would be a fun job for them

I do still have to get a card made - short on mojo on that one Off to look for ideas..

It is $3.13 here but we go across the boarder to VA and get it for $2.88. We have the highest gas tax in our area (our state). VA & SC is always less expensive than us. Because we don't typically go west (that woudl be 5 hours or so from us) I have no idea about TN or KY.

I'd love to see it get back down to below $2 like it was just a few short years ago. For the life of me I just don't see how a barrel of oil (I assume it is a 55 gallon barrel) can cost $5 and we pay $3 per gallon. If you do the math each gallon costs them just over .09 and then we pay $3 per gallon so they are making $160 per barrel of oil. Someone somewhere is seriously making a buck off the backs of those of us who cannot.

Enjoy the day! Sounds like it would be fun to have them all there AND to get the Christmas lights up too.

sauce is cooking...syrup is cooking...water bather is heating...and I am sitting...just for 5 minutes...

then...

I'll be stirring sauce, stirring syrup and starting the jars heating...

It's a process...and a fun one for me...

Kx2 are off to a town south of us...deer hunt...visit time with friends...we'll be happy if a deer comes home tonight in the truck...

Though I do think of Bambi...the food for others also is in my thoughts...

Realized tonight I also need to bake bread...

UHM...I had best sleep tonight...without hot flashes would be great...

I'm back....I think....not quite sure. This trip took so much out of me and my body paid for it. But today is better and I'm so glad to have my boy at home! Today is cleaning fridge and pantry and listing what we need and doing a big re-stocking trip into town.

I have no hopes of catching up with everyone here over the past couple weeks so I'm just gonna jump in! Hope you all are having a great weekend!!

Thanks to my hubby for rescuing me from my nightmare...

21 quarts of apple pie filling...

Apple butter is still baking...

Taking a few minutes break...then will clean the kitchen so I can start bread...am sure the apple butter will be processed during that adventure...making only 4 loaves so easy peasy...

Glad he saved you kramomma!

My sewing machine is not working. I'm going to borrow my mom's and see if I can get this one repaired. It's 16 years old. Nothing fancy, but it's been good over the years. I wouldn't mind one with a few more features - stitch width for one - but I'd like to shop around not NEED a new one. And I don't want anything electronic!

Well, it will be electric, but not electronic. I'm not sure if I'm correct on that or not, but they are different in my mind. but yes! Nothing computerized or digital.

Apples are finished for the season (well, unless someone gives me more free apples)...

today I processed 36 quarts of pie filling and 14 pints of apple butter...

My hands are sore, my feet are sore, my back is sore...but my heart and mind are happy!

Fun day was had by me...

I even finished ONE card today!!!

Good morning all - Glad to see y'all here today.

Paula - glad the frig turned out to be much less than you expected.

Kra - I bet your house smells just wonderful with all that apple and spice smell. I'm sure you are tired and sore but WOW have you gotten a bunch done. I bet your pantry is overflowing with goodness.

Lee - Glad you made it home safe and sound. I also hope that your body feels better today than yesterday. Good luck with the craft room and card making. I had planned to try to work on my room yesterday but felt so poorly that all I did was sit in my chair and try to nap, drink plenty of fluids (hot tea and lemonade) and run to the potty.

Gas is $3.27 here today. I can't remember the last time we saw below $3.00 but I sure hope the trend is down word!

Kra, that is a nightmare. Glad you were able to wake up!

Its a blustery fall day here. All the trees are bare, I have my turkey out on the table and we have started discussing Christmas plans.

We are having a nice quiet weekend. The first time Ed and I have been alone for a weekend in a long time.

Paula, I was able to get my sewing machine from Craig's list. I got a great deal. But I'm hoping you can get it fixed. Especially if its a machine you like. Sometimes the learning curve of new technology isn't so fun.

Working on a month of menus during the football game. I have got a bad case of the yawns. At this rate, I may not make it through much of the game!

well... Christmas lights did not and will not happen this weekend....

what did happen:
- DS2 car stalled on way to church
- friend of DS2 boosted said car
- said car stalled (again) on way back to DS2 home
- on way to church, sound tech gets ticket (no seat belt, rear window not clear, not driving with license)
- 45 min into our practice the pastor comes down to ask for help from DS2
- 10 minutes later we find out pastor has lost his entire sermon and has to rewrite it
argh... it was just that kind of morning
but... in other news,
- two sets of tires changed today
- alternator found and removed from Pick A Part
- alternator removed & replaced on DS2s car
- lots of snuggles and giggles from grandbabies

and so with a heart full, I'm calling it a night....

Sure hope sound tech person isn't the same as DS2...or else he had a lot of lessons to learn yesterday...

And as for the lost sermon...we are told to always be ready to give an account of the hope that is in you...that could make for a quick sermon from anyone!

This weekend one of my sons has been writing a blog post about a man with whom he had a recent conversation...the man was 90 years of age...my son asked the older gentleman...Who is the man who most influenced you in your life?

To see my son converse with this older gentleman for learning of character to impact his own life was quite precious and made a deep impact on my son...the man unexpectedly died last week leaving a legacy that will live in generations to come.

Today is Veterans Day in the USA...this man fought in WWII...I think of him today as a man of honor and integrity that served his country well History of Veterans Day - Office of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs

Morning Everyone!!!

****

Ooohhh ahhhh! Misti, you gave us an easy one this morning!

****

A bit fuzzy headed this morning. Whatever it was that made me so sick last week seems to have passed but now I am just kind of fuzzy headed.....it will pass soon, I am sure!

Steve got up with kids this morning so I slept in a half hour. Always fun. I popped up out of sleep when I heard Steve ask E if she made her lunch. Made both kid's lunch and ate a muffin, now sitting here trying to wake up the rest of my body!

***

Edith sounds like quite the day yesterday!

***

Hope everyone has a productive day...now it's time for me to get productive!

Good morning! Everyone slept all night here. Prayers of thanksgiving have been said!! Truly.

I will straighten my under bathroom cabinets. Mine are kind of useless. The way the cabinets are we've never found a really useful child lock so if it breaks, can't be ingested, or isn't something you want smeared all over the wall or sprinkled all over the floor it can't be down there. I need to see if I can make them slightly more useful.

Gas here is $2.78.

Next week is National Collection Week for the Operation Christmas Child boxes so I need to do inventory. I know I need some toothbrushes and toothpaste still. I have 8 boxes: 4 boys, 4 girls.
