yup. brat isn't allowed to even think about showing up... not an inch of my body wants to do this but we have the rest of the front lawn to de-crabgrass... DD1 is home from her morning shift at work and after she gets some b'fast we're heading out there to tackle it. DD2 will join us. I'm really hoping that we can finish it today.

I think you would have to get the wax and the oils out first. In my case, it's so big and such a persnickety material that I really think a duvet cover is the way to go. I will watch for sales on a new comforter because I do like how the white brightens up the room. But in a smaller cotton item, there are ways to try it!

I don't know how expensive it was but would taking it to the dry cleaners be an option?

Thanks. Talked with my sis she thinks its something dead or dying in my actinic or walls. I did find some mice in the glue trap in the attic, but ewww I don't want to deal with it. I bet there is a bunch more up there. Called the exterminator. They cannot get here until Monday morning. that's what I get for living so far out!

So...... I think I'll get out of this stinky house and go shopping.

I may be sleeping in the pool house for,the next couple of nights.

Jeff has been resting - he woke up really early - and is still asleep so I don't think he's going to take the kids to the gym today, which means no kid-free time to stamp, which means I might as well go try to stamp now. They're playing with cars and a racetrack and seem pretty happy.

Angie & Edith - yes it is a lot of breads but everyone likes them and it seems I'm the only one to do the baking. You basically have a starter that you are to keep 1 batch and give the rest away for them to have starters with. Since I didn't bake when I should have I wound up with more to bake. So I bake them for my ds, dsil, dh, dd's and chiropractor & his family.

So class is finally over and I'm back home after a stop by the grocery store for a couple of things.

Next on the list
finish spaghetti/lasagna sauce
make base for shepherd's pie
put away dishes and wash more
take curtains down and wash - rehang
clean bathrooms

All of this after lunch - my tummy is narling.

The middle of June...I'm not sure of the exact day because it depends on if we get the material covered early...or if we go over a few days.

It seems to be on the way out...Nick is eating and everything...and he feels better. He did have diarrhea yesterday, but he didn't go "number 2" today, so that's a good sign! The rest of the family is good.

You could try a mixture of dish liquid and sugar...just rub it into the spot and wash in the washer as you would normally do. I can see this being a pain if there are spots EVERYWHERE though...

Oh bummer!! We have several areas of crab grass and its horrible! Let me know if you find a method of removal that works, besides bulldozing the entire yard!

My mom and I got some great finds at the rummage sales today! I got an old rocking chair for $2!! I'm going to paint it red and get some pretty material to make a cushion for the seat. I also got an old children's book of bible stories (1957) for 25 cents. Its so pretty and I love the vintage pictures. I got a couple of wooden cabinets for the craft room...one with glass door,s and one with an open front and two drawers, for $3 each. I got a bunch of other childrens books and some do-dads for 50 cents or less each. I also got a bunch of scrapbook page frames for $1 each.

Oh, thanks! I knew the detergent, but not the sugar. The spots are indeed everywhereso I doubt I'll do it on the comforter, but I am forever getting grease spots on my favorite shirts so I will be trying this tip out asap!

Now that it is after 12 PM I came in the house to take my morning meds and have a break!

Banana breads (3 kinds) are finished...will slice them and then freeze them...they aren't needed until 5 AM Monday morning...since we take Sunday as a day of rest baking would not be restful with making that many batches!

Only 1 item to toss in the garage and that's because they wouldn't toss it last fall...so...just sweeping and putting things on the shelves where they belong because in winter gear it seems more difficult to put items where they belong!

The mice had lots to eat in the garage as there are sunflower seeds shells in huge piles in several areas! Guess that's why there was only a mouse count of 27 this season...

Hopefully the snakes have already moved some place else for the season!

Angie, my blood work story was more like a saga....I went the first time for a whole list of orders. When I got there they said they can't do it, I need to be fasting and no vitamins for a few days, so I went back the next day and had blood drawn, like 14 vials, plus one she wasted. Then yesterday I get a order in the mail, thinking she missed something I go back fasting. Then she tells me she can't do t there after an hour wait while she is on the computer. She tells me it has to be done at the main hospital. I go, again fasting this morning, only to arrive and they debate wether they can do it today or not. They did it. Thankfully, I would have been vey unhappy if I needed to fast again.

So even after fasting, I gained 2 pounds this week. How crazy is that! Let me just say, I'm pmsing and the rainy weather isn't helping.

We booked our next vacation today. We will extend our summer into October . Dd can go this time, and her boyfriend is going with us. This will be his first vacation ever!

Cher, you crack me up. What room is it in? That's awful. I'm mice phobic. They get in our garage on occasion, I see a single dropping and the house gets glue traps in every room a few days. My dh makes fun of me, but I sure don't want the critters inside.

Paula, I was going to suggest trying dawn dish soap, then wash with white vinegar. Glad today is starting out better for everyone.

That is a lot of bread, I'm in the mood to bake something now....

how do i keep the neighbors cat from thinking my garden is a litter box?

Mandarin chicken over rice for dinner and I made mint chocolate chip cupcakes for dessert.

I just read this the other day! I think it was mint...cats (and other critters) hate it.

Dont plant mint in your garden unless you want it to take over!!! Maybe in a pot. Or maybe you could just sprinkle some mint In a jar around.

We mesh fenced the strawberry garden today. We had a productive unproductive day. We just kind of puttered around, did some lawn care, garden care, cooked and baked and just enjoyed each other. It was nice to not have an agenda.

Paula, I guess the morning didnt last. Maybe he needs some one on one time as a reward for not driving Mommy crazy. Or break out the M&Ms again. Lol

Found this picture while cleaning in the garage...my mom's tin of pictures had tipped over...

The sweats are really red, not pink...and the carpet is orange! Yep...70's carpet...

Am sure G'ma at-the-Lake took this picture...

I think it was to sprinkle dried mint over the garden...

Mint do take over, BIG TIME! We have wild mint growing in our back yard and that stuff has spread like wildfire.

So sorry, Paula. It's probably just a phase...testing the waters. Or perhaps a little cry for attention? Maybe? I hope he gets over it soon, for momma's sanity!!
