So glad you had such a nice time last night. We all deserve to have an adult night all dressed up every now and again.

Wow this is a seriously quiet thread today. I guess everyone had a nice night last night and are still enjoying the afterglow of a good night's rest.

Vicious critters. My dad's dog once brought one up on the back deck (had to carry it up the hill and then up a flight of stairs to do it.) They really do "play possum". We weren't sure if it was alive or not so my dad poked it with a stick. It was. Talk about teeth and claws! He took a shovel and launched it off our back deck and then went down and launched it again into the St. Clair River. I don't know if they can swim or not but the current is so fast he was carried far away from us.

Last summer our dog finally caught a possum that had been taunting her from the back fence. We were sure that one was dead b/c its guts were hanging out. It was also in full rigor. I made my brother take care of that one (held the trash bag for him to shovel it into). ewwww I'm just so glad neither dog was hurt!

Speaking of taxes, we are getting back $6,995 between federal, state and city taxes!!!! We can replace the roof on the garage and FINALLY get a new mattress! Ours is only 15 years old.....

Happy Sunday!

I'm having a nasty few days. I woke up feeling much better only to have my feelings hurt, now I just feel like crying. So taking it out on the laundry....

The wedding sounds amazing! Did you talked all dolled up pics?

Marnie, sorry the little ones aren't feeling well. Hope it passes quickly!

Have a great day!

It works pretty good for the oven but you have to leave it on for longer than recommended. Works good for the microwave too.

Good thing we did. On the way down we noticed the other side of 94 was closed for a few miles in a really bad part of town. A detour would have been really scary, esp not knowing the area. Also, we were able to alert my mom and tell her an alternate route for when she drives through with the moving truck this evening.

They had to tithe, give and spend from that!

Yep...now...they get nothing...they are 24 and 21 and they still get to do all that they did before but now for FREE!

Today they cleaned bathrooms, dusted, vacuumed, garbages...and they will be glad when they get to have supper!

I lived my childhood without ever getting an allowance or being given any payment for tasks I did around the house and at age 8 years old I could and did run our household, I did miss out on learning to budget money.

Sadly, I spent every nickle I earned babysitting (5 cents an hour back then) without ever learning to save...budgeting and saving has been a long, painful process as an adult.

I did learn from my parents' credit card issues that was not the way I wanted to live...and that was before Dave Ramsey...since I'm older than him!!!!

There's my 2 cents...you can always give me change if you don't like my 2 cents!
It's the saving part we really want to teach (well, giving of themselves and monetarily as well). When I was a kid and wanted something and it wasn't near any holiday, my mom always said "Save your money". They have enough stuff they don't need anything else. They are young but "Save your money" still applies. DH has talked about opening savings accounts for each of them.

My little ones are OK. It's Paula's little ones who are sick (and Patricia's too I think). Oh yeah...and me. I still have bronchitis and asthma flaring. May need round 2 of antibiotics.

So I just had a fun time. Apple juice spilled in every nook and cranny of our fridge. Cleaned that up, tossed some things that should have been tossed long ago and used a baby wipe to wipe the sticky spot in front of the fridge. No energy for mopping floors right now. Gonna rest.

Hugs Joyce! Hope the day gets better! We did take pictures, but I need to get on the computer. Everything I load from my phone is sideways.

Fun, Marnie. :/ but yay clean fridge! Get some rest!

Jeff took his tux shoes back and then we all went for a walk. It's a beautiful day! I need to get some groceries and I'd like to go to kohls. They're having a bra sale and I could use a new one!

Marnie - I'll have to try the vinegar stuff on teh microwave (it needs a touch-up) - my oven looks pretty good.

Melissa - you've been one busy chicky today - 6 1/2 hours of work AND all the other things you've gotten done as well.

Only one child is well and I am now sick too. Poor DD1 only ate ice cream and some cold medicine today. She is taking lots of fluids though.

We are all in bed already. Could be a long week.

Christi ~ PRAYERS that you and your family feel better really quickly. Best thing for sure is to make sure you keep getting in all the liquids you can stand.

BTW Ladies - I've found a new use for baking soda. It is good in the bath with epsom salts to help relax the muscles and soften the water. Then take some in the palm of your hand and massage it into your face like a fascial scrub, but waaayyyy cheaper, rinse it off after massaging it in for a few secs. After you get out of the tub put a moisturizer on and your skin feels really soft and refreshed, especially the next am. There is also a nice healthy glow as well.

Instead of tooth paste at night I use baking soda for that as well. It kinda polishes and helps whiten your teeth as well.

Good morning!

Marnie, Thank you for the baking soda/vinegar/lemon juice cleaner recipe...I will be using that today! I still have to do the floor and walls in there....and I heard one of the kids using the bathroom this morning...and I heard the...um....bad aim. So I'm glad I didn't do it yet!!!

On my list for today is: finish the kids bathroom, clean my bathroom, clean my closet, and clean some of my room.

I won't be cheking in much during the next few days. My laptop is at the doctor getting a new hard drive. I REALLY don't like using the desktop...its SO SLOW!!! I'll check in a few times during the day....just not every half our or anything like I probably would have done with the laptop!

I had one of those horrible restless night sleeps I feel icky today. DD1 seems to be a bit better today. DS1 stayed home from school. Questionable how bad he is really feeling. I am grateful he will be here to help if I need to rest and that we don't need to go pick him up later.

Somehow I am on the wrong zone again this week. How does that keep happening? I have a ton of laundry to wash today and a clingy toddler. I think she just got up too early.

Today's Mini Mission:

Straighten at least one shelf in your pantry, checking for crumbs & expired dates on food boxes/cans.

Good morning

My dh has an addiction to making sure our pantry is over stocked.

Mini mission
Fridge shelf
Downstairs floors
Dishwasher/ sink
Counters

I joined a swap and now have no idea what to make. I need to make a 20-30$ gift for someone I don't know much about. She lives in TX, has 2 little kids, likes to cook. Any suggestions?
