Now to get someone to make a trip to the thrift drop off. I did put them on Craig's list first with no takers, so they are going.
For the sweaters, I saw recently on Pinterest? someone using the sleeve cuffs as hot cup cozies. You could either sew them together and have them slide kinda like you get at the coffee houses or put buttons on them so you can use them with a cup that has a handle. Super cute.

You could also make a colorful throw or lap blanket with sweaters that coordinate. Just cut the body part, sew them together in some random pattern but on a quick backing, if you'd like and use the sleeves as the binding.

For the other clothes, if they are your kiddo's clothes and you really liked the outfits sew the entire outfit to a quilt top to make a quilt. If you have, or know someone who has, small children who are learning to button, velcro, zip, lace, tie bows use those parts to make a small quilt with just those parts and twadaa you have a present already made.

I made one similar to that by cutting the parts I needed and sewed the pieces through a quilt layer (plain fabric topper, light batting & backer fabric) with a zig zag stitch. It made a cut impression on the back side as well. To get the lace-up part take a button-up shirt and cut the side with the holes in half and sew them side-by-side then add ribbon that you tack down at the base so it doesn't come loose and get lost. It was lots of fun for both of us.

This morning, a friend called & while we were on the phone for 17 min I got:

the microwave cleaned
all of the mirrors shined

I'm making progress with my Mega Project in my office. I'm thankful I still have some days left, but it's beginning to look like I've been working in there.

Today's project:
Go through all of the packages/boxes that I have stored. Toss the ones that are too small. Reorganize what's left. Order flat rate priority padded envelopes.

Major items out the door...

I obviously am having a more difficult time getting those bears out the door...they are 25+ years of attachment...

Reality...they have been in the guest room for the last 12 years...

Can I un-attach from them?

Maybe I will keep what has our names on them...lots don't so more would go than what would be kept...

Talking...talking...talking...

Default Question

I'm sorting through a bin from 1993...I piled each child's paperwork and treasures into their own area...

Now I have pictures of people...some of whom I don't remember...obviously I knew them at the time...and even with names on the pictures I don't know who they are

There are some people that I do know...would you return those pictures to them or toss them?

It is a lighter feeling in my life as these bins have bothered me for YEARS! The next 2 bins from BEFORE 1993!

Today is definitely going to be a 5 minute day. When my super-SHE-ness raises its head, I can't even think about 15 minutes at a time. I set the timer for 5 minutes and do SOMETHING. Anything! Then I set it again, and again, and again, going from room to room in the house, or from task to task on my list, until I've completed tons and only spent 5 minutes (or so it seems, even though I may have reset the timer 4 times!) on each. Next job for me today - 5 minutes on laundry!

If it's not too much trouble to get them to the people then yes I'd pass them on. If it is, then toss them.

We live very clean and simple....then there's my craft room, or crap room as my husband affectionately calls it. Most people who actually craft visit and think its organized, but I really see lots of work needed. I really want it to look like one of those rooms on pinterest or in where women create, but how do you get there and actually use the room?

Another question (this one might lean towards scraperwannabe)...

I have LOTS of Priority boxes from the USPS...I am not in need of them any longer...

What do I do with them?

Send them back? Put them in recycle bin? Use them for firestarter?

You can drop them at the post office. They will take them back. I would only recycle, burn used ones.

I will call our local PO and ask if they will take them back...these are ones that you request to be delivered at your home in large bundles (did that long ago) they aren't ones that I picked up at the PO.

My PO actually likes it when you bring those in. Sometimes the post office can't get the ones that we can have delivered to the house.

If they are unused, I would take them into your PO. The PO can't receive some of the boxes, so someone up there has to create a personal account & receive them at their home. The padded flat rate priority envelopes are an example of what a PO can't get. But, they will take any of them back. It helps to keep the postal expenses down when they are returned instead of recycled.

PO boxes are on their way to the PO...along with some "bear" furniture that I've had for 24 years...Kx2 were not interested in it...I don't "need" it...

Lighten up...that's my new motto!

Decided not to return pictures to people...I don't have all the years of their sending pictures...just some...Kx2 and I shared memories about the people.

One photo I asked Pink Snuggles if she recognized these 2 little kids...she said...No but they sure are cute! I don't have a clue who they are but I did agree they are cute!

My March has been less than productive. I don't see much changing over the next day. Maybe April will be a better month. I know I have a bit to do early in the month and taxes HAVE to be done as do some things on the accreditation. After that I will have more time. I will only be teaching 2 nights a week until late in the month when it may go to 3 days and 2 nights (all the same days, thank goodness).

I wish you all a Happy and Blessed Easter.
