Kra, i cant even imagine! besides anyone lays a finger on you you just let me know, i have Italian connections...

Today is full of techniques for DTGD, I'm glad they have included the links because I have never heard of polished stone. Should be a challenging day in many ways...

I woke up with an awful case of heart burn. Luckily there is nothing in there to make me sick, or I'm sure I would be. We were going to try tacos or nachos today for dinner, I'm thinking that is off the list. Will stick to very bland today. Ugh!

Good morning!!! Some lively conversations going on here!

I am very much like Edith's boss as well. I talk about the kids messes all the time, but I was messy before they got here and am a big pack rat.

Patricia, so sad about the accident. It sounds like you have an awesome vacation ahead of you! Can't wait to see pics!

Kramomma, I smiled at your husband putting the dishes in the wrong places on purpose. I'll try to remember how sweet it is when the boys hide things. and I am definitely on the hugging team not the slapping team. I rather suspect we're all on the hugging team.

My keeper took the van to have the oil changed and got it inspected so I wouldn't have to! Huge thing off my week. He helped the kids bathe the dog, made snacks, made supper. Love that man.

Melissa, I'm 1.5 behind plus all of today's. 10 cards in one weekend is pretty amazing for me, though!

Do you suppose I should call krapoppa and just ask where the lid to the honey jar is?

Thankfully that honey jar is empty...but I really don't want to go recycle bin diving to look for something that might just be in some other place! I tried to think like an engineer but I have come up empty each time...

Will update my list then get started on making a Christmas card that won't be a Christmas card since our family doesn't do calendar holiday days...this will be frustrating to me because I believe in Christ...just not in celebrating on a calendar day of the year... (hope that's not telling too much of the challenge...if it is...a moderator can zap my post!)

Oh...that sunshine smilie is suppose to be the #18 but since it is inside parenthesis it turns into a smilie...sometimes I really don't like that feature!

Going to see what I can accomplish in the next 90 minutes...

Morning.....this week I need to get SERIOUS about my preparations for my trip back to MD which begins next week. There's much to be done to get ready to leave. Lots of loose ends on county fair entries that must be tied up, loads of laundry, cleaning out of fridge because I will be gone two weeks, and some much needed straightening so I don't return to a totally cluttered home.
Today I will pull out suitcases, ties up at least 5 entry loose ends, sew label on t-shirt quilt, finish up 5 cards that have already been begun and are scattered around in pieces, and make lunch and dinner out of foods already in fridge (eggs will be in one meal!)

I agree with the hugging team and had to laugh at Krap putting things away in different places. Mine does that too.

So I'm up and at it. Had my breakfast, getting ready to take am meds (supplements & allergy pill), get dressed, brush the choppers & hit the door to the college.

Hope everyone has fun with their DTGD challenges.

Chat later.

up... made two work related calls.... ready to tackle my list and then... here's hoping the mojo flows fast & furious today as I have way too many DTGD challenges to do if I want to catch up

hugs for everyone

btw. I really should add that my boss is a really great guy. Generous. Kind. Friendly. You can't go anywhere in the city with him without running into someone that knows him or that he knows..... But, he has always had a real admin asst that has always looked after the details (not just one like me who pretends). And, when you appreciate others so much and are appreciated, you collect awards and mementos that are meaningful. But if you've never had to purge... well, in the end it's overwhelming. And. He's 75.... so he has a lot of years of great memories that he's collected!!!

Lee, I was thinking of you, today when I read what my friend posted on FB:

"Woke up to the furnace noise this morning. Plus 8 Deg. C now and apparently it is rocketing up to a high of 13 C later! With snow detected east of Banff, now would be a great time to visit Calgary, if you're finding summer's heat unbearable. I'm sure we could find you an extra toque!"

(Banff is 90 minutes west of Calgary; a tourist resort in the Rocky Mountains)

I don't even want to think snow yet. Lee and I have several things in common, choice vacation spots is NOT one of them! I prefer minimal clothing and sand, she prefers ice caps and polar bears!

Kramomma, maybe you can do a "sending blessings" type card with red and green and it will work for the challenge or "Warm Winter Wishes"? Not everyone celebrates Christmas so I'm sure they will be OK with whatever you feel is appropriate for that time of the year.

ETA- Kra, it says "inspired by the picture" so I take that as making something is the soft colors of the photograph would work as well.

I agree. If you check out the samples, there are two that aren't specifically for the seasonal celebration.... Hope that helps relieve some anxiety?

Edith - It does sound like your boss is an extraordinary man. So sorry I classed him with so many other bosses who rely on others to do their bidding. Please accept my apologies.

Can't seem to get to sleep again tonight so I'm going to make my list so maybe that will get out of my head and I'll be able to sleep

1.up
2.dressed
3. meds
4. breakfast

5. hang shelves - having to do tomorrow - hopefully, or at least get the shelving boards cut
6. finish moving yard sale things to central area
7. finish putting basic computer book together - decided to wait until next week for that when I am less rushed
8. work on clearing off the table in my craft room
9. go to college and get syllabus for computer class so I can do #7
10. get topics and book for other class I will be teaching Wed, Thurs, Tues, Wed of the next 2 weeks

11. get #10's class notes ready to go
12. print off several items for teaching
13. decide on dinner - early tonight as dh has to work nights so he has to leave by 5pm that changed - dinner for 1 who knows what it will be - I'm thinking French toast.
14. call chiropractor & make an appointment for next week sometime
15. take some things back to the auto parts store as dsil didn't use all I purchased
16. give car a bath inside and out
17. continue to work on yard sale things

I think that should just about do it. Now hopefully I'll be able to go to sleep now.

Well I've gotten a start on the day. Feeling a bit defeated for some reason but I'm going to push through it.

Label made and sewn on....had a minor blip in day when best friend dropped by to talk over some things that happened last night when we were together. Drove to mailbox and mailed rent check. Now on to next activities. I think it will be cutting apart fabric samples for fidget quilts.

Moooving right along (said in Mollymoo's voice just to see if she will come out of lurkdom )...

Laundry is happening...snack has been eaten...SU order placed...

Actually...I wonder if I ever started the next load...hmmm...guess SHE still lives here...and I forgot to get cotton balls while I was upstairs...so...

More exercise...and up the stairs I go...

My card looks to me like stationary...well...at least that's what I planned for it to look like! Letter writing used to be part of holidays...

Not cold enough in the basement yet for a sweatshirt but getting close...

Donna, I'm so sorry sleep is being an issue for you. I wish I could help ease some of your stress. Sometimes its hard for our minds to shut down when we need them to, and sometimes our bodies just make other plans without out consent. Nope your day foes well despite the insomnia.

I made the first challenge card, seasonal, but not Christmas in the Christian ideal. Maybe it will inspire a idea for you Kra.

Anybody want to google chat, Skype, ooVoo? Google chat works best for me, but ooVoo allows for multiple folks on at the same time as well.

hey... my mojo just has not surfaced

but... remember these? do they even sell them anywhere anymore?

http://subversiveinfluence.com/image...ojos_candy.jpg

I remember buying them at the candy store when I'd get a nickle to spend at lunch time. It was a rare occasion and so much fun to walk the block to the store... always felt so freeing and adventuresome... of course I was maybe...... 7?

Home from swim and Kroger. Just hung the laundry out to dry.

I made the first challenge card, seasonal, but not Christmas in the Christian ideal. Maybe it will inspire a idea for you Kra.

Anybody want to google chat, Skype, ooVoo? Google chat works best for me, but ooVoo allows for multiple folks on at the same time as well.
Thanks Joyce - it seems I have trouble with sleep when we have barometric pressure changes. My body just aches. Last night we had storms and that probably did it for me.

It is true that stress can cause issues as well but I'm not sure that was the issue last night.

It is also true, at least for me, that when I have something on my mine that I need to remember to do I may have trouble getting to sleep, hence me making my list on here and yet another to take with me to the college so I didn't forget anything.

Thanks for your support and offer to help ease some of the stress but it's all on me to deal with. I'm a big girl and I'll get through this.

Wish I had Skype but alas I do not plus right now I just don't have the time to join in, Enjoy to all those who can.

No, it was me. I did not see him as 75 years old. That puts a whole new spin on things for sure. Now if he were 35 or 45 or 55 then I wouldn't feel so badly about what I said.

Thank you for understanding. And best of luck to him in his new adventures.

While I was on my way to the college I got a phone call asking me to teach a class tomorrow night 6-10 so I'll add that to my list soon - get ready for that class.

While at the college I also checked on our historical society archival museum for times and days open. I think my dad & I may go next week one day to see what they may offer for the ancestry fun stuff.

Now off to work on something else on my list.

Nope...didn't care for the Muppets...nor much of Sesame Street either...costumed characters are "Sceerwee"...and I agree...I've never liked puppets either! Still don't like those characters that walk around at the stores...even though I know it's a person in side...uhm...I can't see them...thus...they are sceerwee...

Internet has been off for awhile...I am now going to see if I can' figure out polished stone WITHOUT metallic reinkers! Am going to Youtube...as was suggested for another technique where I struggled...I do not know how you ladies do this...

I did decide that if the technique was a struggle the way to finish the project was to use my fall-back-on layout! It worked!

I did not have a metallic reinker, so just used some metallic pain from a metallic paint marker. It worked well enough. Not a technique I see myself doing often, so not with the investment.

I am done with today's 5 challenges.
