I would take the tornados over a clean house any day!

Dh asked that I not wake him up early this morning so I have another 30 minutes until he gets moving. Going t o quick shower and get a card started .

Misti, how did it go last night? I think I might have just crashed.

Canning...don't do much, we freeze corn, can some string beans. I used to make all kinds of jellies and such but it never got used, so now I only make when someone really wants something.

Morning! Just checked out today's challenges. Never made those muffins last night so I'm going to do that in just a sec then I really need to get the oil changed in the van. I have an indicator light on that I think - I HOPE - will go off after an oil change which is good because I have to get an inspection by Wednesday and it won't pass with a light on.

I can't find my stamp notebook where I keep track of all my cards and stamp sets used, etc. I've looked all over. To quote Jayne from Firefly/Serenity it's "damaging my calm."

Good morning Joyce and Paula. Looks like we're the only ones up and on here so far today.

Joyce - I'm not sure I want a tornado (we had one of those just a few miles from our house and I've seen first hand the horrible damage they can do) but I do want a clean house. What I think I'd really like to do is pretend I'm moving and pack EVERYTHING up, move everything out, clean the house and paint where needed, etc and then put back the things I want. Sounds great but not likely to happen. LOL

Paula - I like the saying "damaging my calm" I may have to borrow that from you.

In an attempt to stay kinda quiet this morning I decided to spray some more brackets, as it turns out I need 4 more and I just happened to find some slightly larger ones the other day when I was cleaning on that outside room. I'm thinking I can use them at the corners where they can support both shelves at the joining points. Anyway I'm painting them a gloss black to go in the paneled room. They will be used to put up 6" shelving boards much like a plate shelf to hold dh's Code 3 collection (a collection of emergency vehicles, etc). It will help get them up and out of the way clearing more boxes as well as have them out where he can admire them.

While I was spraying the brackets I decided that the table that goes with the chairs I cleaned yesterday needed to be cleaned as well so that is another thing out of the way.

Now I need to get my bum on the class stuff. Can you tell I'm apparently doing everything I can to put that off? I'm really not looking forward to dealing with it. This will be the 3rd change in less than a year and I'm a bit frustrated by it all. What would be nice is when they decided to change it just put together everything they want us to teach and send it to us instead they send a new outline and it's up to us to get everything put together. There are 6-8 of us teaching the same syllabus however we are all probably teaching something a bit different because of the way the powers that be sends it to us. ARG! I like uniformity when it comes to things like that.

OK off my soapbox - chat with you all later. Time to hit that stack of papers.

Good Morning...

hmmm.... don't know about tornadoes. The last one that went through just north of Calgary a few years ago was horrific. We don't usually get them.

"damaging my calm" I like that. It's quite descriptive!

I am last minute scrambling trying to get that paperbag card done for my friend. There is a celebration at church this morning so it would be really really really nice if I could have it ready for her. I have exactly 2 hours before I need to leave... have the base done but now the time consuming part of prettying it up. I'll have to check the challenges... maybe I can incorporate one

The tornadoes Joyce and I were talking about were my little people. I would absolutely not want a real tornado. These are pretty cute, though.

I got 3 cards made last night, figured out an image to use for a 4th one & then crashed! Between the early morning, the heat, the walking & climbing, I was beat!

Got images stamped for 3 of the 5 challenges for today before heading out. I think I need to find my card sketches notebook & pull from that instead of trying to come up with something every time.

Applesauce and oat muffins made, pumpkin muffins in the oven. Ingredients put away and the dishwasher is loaded. Maybe I'll go color my stamped image while these bake.

Still working on the sorting thing. I was bad and didn't print the email they sent out ref the syllabus and now my emails with that info are gone. It appears the college has decided to only store things for 30 days. I mean really I had a bunch of stuff stored on there for the accreditation project as well. I'm miffed or worse but since it's Sunday I'm trying to watch my attitude. Tomorrow I'll add to the list going to the college and getting the info AGAIN!

Default SHE STORY

After lunch (which Pink Snuggle made with krapoppa's help...and they even cleaned the kitchen!) I came to the stamp room to finish yesterday's DTGD challenges...

Well...did you ladies know that KOH-I-NOOR woodless colour pencils work similar to watercolor crayons?

That's the good part...the other part is I thought they were watercolor crayons...hmmm...must have sold the watercolor crayons...

Am thankful that I got enough water on the brush and pencils worked! Only needed 2 so that helped...now I'm doing the same image to see how it looks when colored as pencils!!!!

It's been a difficult day and I don't have any little tornadoes...

I want the cute Paula kind. Just a few, I want to be Grand someday.

Ill add you to my list and see if you are on Lee.

You go Misti.

I keep having life stuff get in the way. Dd is out the door. Looks so professional in her new skirts and suits. Reminds me of me at her age.

It's cold and rainy and I just have the need to curl up with a cup of tea, so i am for a bit.

Joyce - grands are wonderful but there is no need in rushing your children to have them for you. They need to be ready themselves. I know you know that I just have to say it. DD1 was 29 and married for 5 years before they had Buddy.

Well I've spent the last hour+ sorting and de-cluttering, etc my basic computer class notes, handouts and so forth. I have them whittled down to the things I think I'll be using for the next class. I spoke with my boss and will meet her tomorrow to get the new syllabus and then I can get it all put together. I also have to get some information from her ref a class I'm supposed to start teaching on Wednesday. I have basic info but not all that I need for the rest of the class.

Now I'm on to the craft room table.

When dh gets home I'll get him to help me move the few things I'll have problems with moving by myself (yard sale things).

2.dressed
3. meds
4. breakfast

6. move yard sale things to central area
7. finish sorting basic computer things - done as much as I can until I have more info tomorrow

8. work on clearing off the table in my craft room

I'm not sure how much more I'm up to today. Besides thi list I've also

I spent two hours this afternoon helping the boss get his office packed up. The movers are coming tomorrow morning at 8AM and he still had a pile of stuff to go through... I thought I'd do the accounting but no. He needed the help. So, the acctng will be done tomorrow. Have to make a couple of calls to see if I can get the last invoice info over the phone. Here's hoping they give it to me.

It's been a rough day in a lot of ways... but I really am

I'm just popping in real quick to let you all know that we have arrived safely at the hotel! The wedding was beautiful yesterday. Exaustion started to settle in as the night went on...so it was an early night for me. I went back to the cabin @ 11...Brent stayed until about 1am. We shared a cabin with Brent's brother and 2 of his sisters, so it was nice to just be there alone and have a shower, watch tv for about 10 minutes, and go to bed. I woke up refreshed this morning...ready for the 4.5 hr drive we had ahead of us! That 4.5 hr trip turned into 6.5 hrs. We were stuck in Terra Nova National Park while a clean-up crew removed debris from a fatal accident yesterday. Someone ran head-on to a transport truck...its so sad. The two vehicles ended up down over the side of the road and they needed to bring a crane in to pick them up. With the little two-lane highway there was no much room to maneuver...so they had to close the road for a while. And it is the only road through, so we had no choice but to wait. The kids complained and, since we didn't know what was going on up ahead, we reminded them that it could be a tragic accident...and waiting for a couple of hours in the car was nothing compared to what the victims families could be going though. They were speechless when we finally got though and they saw the beat up transport truck on the road. But, we arrived at the hotel 20 minutes later. It is very nice in here!! So comfy! And the kids LOVED the 25 meter pool they have here at the hotel. Tomorrow we will be heading to the water park for the day and then back to this town to explore a little after supper. And, I'm pretty sure the kids will want to hit the pool again before they go to bed!

I'm off to bed now! Good night!!! I'll check in tomorrow and maybe share a few photos!

Edith is sure does sound like you have had a day from a hot spot. Hope you get to relax tonight for a while and that your tomorrow will be good.

What a shame that the boss can't pack his own things. What is it about men? - either they just throw everything into a box or they throw everything away or they do nothing and put it off on someone else.

oh... this was after he and his wife had already spent Friday & Saturday packing up STUFF. Mostly I think he's a procrastinator... well, a pack rat too

It has just been a hard & emotional day for me... I don't know if I'll try to relax... I'm sure I'll just end up in a puddle.

It has just been a hard & emotional day for me... I don't know if I'll try to relax... I'm sure I'll just end up in a puddle.

Edith, I'm so sorry big cyber hugs for you!

DTGD is going very well, I've got them all done so far. 2 for 1 challenge and 6 swap cards so far. Fun stuff!

I had so much fun chatting with Alisa! Hope to google chat again soon!

I'm already in bed, so going to say good night ! Sweet dreams!

Finished 9 cards today...8 are for the challenges so that makes all 12 finished plus I made 1 cards because I wanted to use those colored pencils!

Not impressed with one of the techniques...but...I completed the card and the saving grace of it is...I used purple! I can make ugly look ok in purple!

Edith199...my purple puddle was this morning and I think I had more than just one...but by 4 PM this afternoon I was snugged into okness...(if that could be a word in life!)

Now...off to bed...I hope that the next set of DTGD challenges are posted by 6 AM so that krapoppa can help me...he is confident I can do it myself with his little bit of instruction...but...I'd be happier if he was standing beside me while I did it...(that it is printing out the challenges onto paper...being on the computer too much gives me a headache and I would like to not start out tomorrow as I did today!)

Imthenoni...not all men are the same...not only is my husband a gem but I know a few other men are too...

luvlee...my hands have never been so dirty when stamping as they are tonight! And...the left one feels quite sore also...think I'll sleep in my brace tonight...it certainly won't hurt!

Kra - I certainly did not speak/write that comment the way I meant it. I, too, know many men who are wonderful and will do anything and everything to help. Real "gems" as you call them. I also know some, like Edith's boss seems to be, who, as she said, procrastinate or put it off for someone else to do.

I did not mean to lump the good ones including your dh in with the not as good ones.

Sorry for my mis-speaking/writing.

Hope you're had feels better in the morning and that your dh will be able to be there to help you with the printing, etc for the DTGD challenges.

Good night all

1.up
2.dressed
3. meds
4. breakfast
5. hang shelves - having to do tomorrow - hopefully, or at least get the shelving boards cut
6. finish moving yard sale things to central area
7. finish putting basic computer book together
8. work on clearing off the table in my craft room
9. go to college and get syllabus for computer class so I can do #7
10. get topics and book for other class I will be teaching Wed, Thurs, Tues, Wed of the next 2 weeks
11. get #10's class notes ready to go
12. print off several items for teaching
13. decide on dinner - early tonight as dh has to work nights so he has to leave by 5pm
14. call chiropractor & make an appointment for next week sometime
15. take some things back to the auto parts store as dsil didn't use all I purchased
16. give car a bath inside and out
17. continue to work on yard sale things

I think that should just about do it. Now hopefully I'll be able to go to sleep now.

Sweet dreams all

Donnas I don't think it was an offensive comment, just sometimes writing doesn't infect our personification of a comment. Good thing we have some keepable characters i our lives.

Mine said to me yesterday....."I didn't see in the contract (the one for DTGD) where it said he had to wait on meh and and foot". Friends were on chatting and we all laughed and discussed keepers. I so have one! He made me brunch, then grilled peaches, then dinner and delivered it to me in my scrap room! Along with a couple of cups of tea. Really, that's just the little things....what would I do without him?

Today...DTGD!

Sure hope Mollymoo stops in to tell me what day it is this week cause I'm afraid every day is going to run into the next without much distinction when I'm on comp time and unpaid vacation this week! Is it really already day #3 of DTGD? WOW...

imthenoni...it isn't that I don't know men like edith199's boss...but in some ways that part of me hasn't changed...and I am more of a SHE than him...complete with life stories to tell...left to my own accord I am a very lazy, self-centered person (James 3:1-16 is a good description of my life) but I desire to be different which takes work (James 3:17) to become different (James 3:1...thus...a CJ with a list I have learned makes a major difference in my life...doesn't help me accomplish anything...that only happens when I don't sit in this brown chair so much!

The washer is going, peaches need to be carried to the canning cupboard, more peaches are waiting on the table to be processed first thing this morning since the DTGD links are not available yet...and Pink Snuggles will find it much easier to make supper if I would bring more of the foods upstairs from the basement fridge/freezer!

Ashjoy...krapoppa helped Pink Snuggles with making lunch yesterday and he dried dishes for her while she washed! He says he likes drying dishes cause he can put the dishes away wherever he wants He tries to purposely put them some place opposite of where they belong so that we think of him when we find them!

Pink Snuggle's plan is to do everything I do in a day but I assured her that she would get very little time for her college studies if she did that because it will all take her longer since I know the flow and she doesn't...

By 9 AM she needs to know what she is making for supper...and have the food prep done soon after if there is food prep...

My day:
sort laundry
w/d/f/p laundry

vacuum
freeze 14 peaches
peaches to canning cupboard

find a second box for cards (uhm...I've made at least 20 this past week)
write inside a sympathy card (Janeenk...one of your church ladies)
mail SU order
email Endless Creations about punch
print DTGD posts (confidence builder if I accomplish this!)
stamp DTGD challenges (afraid they are not going to be easy as there are only 5
)

Supper-what PS chooses from her list of meals options!
