How fun Kra!

Safe travels Tricia!

I signed up for a stamped image swap over at 2peas to find one of my partners lives about 30 min from me. I invited her to scrap.

We met my dh for lunch at red lobster, then shopped until he was done work, hethen came to the mall with us before we came home.

Dinner is easy chicken salad with a rotisserie chicken from SAMs and corn on the cob.

Then I need to finish the cupcakes I baked earlier.

Then its back to the scrap room!

I put a pretty purple envelope in the mail this morning, when I got the mail tonight it was still there! I had forgot to put a stamp on it!

Oh goodness! Thank you, but don't feel like a slacker on my account! I feel like a flyzygote because my counters are covered, my bedroom is a mess, I'm caught up on washing clothes but have three baskets of folded sitting in my bedroom, etc. I have Red Queen Syndrome - I run as fast as I can just to stay in the same place.

I'm really excited you have next week off. I've never known this many people doing DTGD! I'm pretty stoked! A little jealous y'all will all make more cards than me, but mostly stoked!

Thank you. I'm looking forward to it. I'm sure you'll do just fine. I'm hoping not all of the challenges are "must be a card".

I'm so excited! Dh is leaving the house at 6:30 am, wish the challenges were posted before 9, but I may just color until things get started.

I'm attempting to use google documents to keep track of challenges I want to play in, and those I complete so I remember to check back and see who wins.

I'm going to try to check in while I'm out in the sticks. I'm going to take a few images & markers with me. I might be able to color while I'm waiting for the shoot to begin & the while we are waiting for score cards to be tallied & turned in.

The sun has risen and is shining brightly already this morning. It is promising to be a pretty day though we are at 40%ish chance of afternoon rains again. So I'm planning to get some outside things done this morning while it is cooler and dry.

I'm
1.up
2.fed
3.meded
4.being driven crazy by a cat
5.dressed for outside work

I'm getting ready to
6.wake dd2
7.let her get fed
8.help her put things in the attic - may look around & see if there are things up there I can put in the yard sale
9.start working on the outside room, pulling - yard sale items, trash items, etc. I also need to clear 3 shelves and a work top so in the fall/winter we can take that wall down.

10.lunch
11.dh decided on dinner the other night - If you have a Carrabbas's near you and they have lemonchello bread pudding - try it, it's wonderful.
12.continue to pull things in the house for the yard sale

13.go through my teaching bags (yes I know that sounds funny but I have 1 for each topic/subject so I can just grab that bag and know it has all I need in it, books etc)
14.put them back on the shelves with tags on them so I remember which one is for what
15.pull my basic computer teaching books and get the new things put in order.
16.take a shower and get ready for dinner (dh will get home 6:30ish so I need to be ready by then)

It sounds like a lot but I think it's doable.

Hope y'all have a good day - chat a bit later.

So I got most of my list done. I will finish up the last 2 tomorrow and continue to look for yard sale items as well as pulling them into a central area.

I'm back from my friends party. It was fun! Tomorrow we have to get up early and drive the 5 hours to Port au Choix. I will not be posting that on facebook...it is just as well to say "I will be out of the house tomorrow. Feel free to drop over and take whatever you like!"

Anyway, I'm off to bed!

Good night!

Speaking of 40%.....Joann's is having a sale, 40% off with a free shipping coupon over 50$. I had no idea they carry so much more online.

Safe travels Misti! Wish the boys good marksmanship from all of us. And I would be miserable and non functional with the amount of sleep you get.

Tricia, I do not due well in the humidity. I start out with straightened hair to tame the frizz beast, but I usually end up with hair grips and ponytails, or even a head rag if we are top off the jeep.this is how we manage the sun and the hair, or for dh lack there of.... [IMG][/IMG]

Also have peaches to can this afternoon/evening...a few groceries to purchase (though krapoppa said he would stop at Aldi on the way home from the airport for me!)...

Yesterday's thoughts...

Janeenk...yesterday morning I was skimming your blog wondering...where is that girl...decided you were happily making cards...wonder...do you still make cards for that stamp store in Door County? Thought of you when I was at the Stamp Expo last Saturday...

Weather...it is cold here...actually wore long sleeves on Tuesday night and still had goosebumps. The stamp room is REALLY cold...I almost put on the space heater Thursday!

Flat Stanley?

edith199...praying for you...though no moon showing last night...I know it's there...between us both...

imthenoni...uhm...on days like that I go crawl inside myself and wait for the color in me to change...I'll make a card with that stamp this week...

mrslaird...Whatchamacallit ate a 1/2 pint of peach preserves the other night...my friend that was here put a crate of canned food on the front step rather than take it to her car...well...the dog got the jar in her mouth, carried it to the front yard (did not break it on the cement), some how got the seal off and ate as much as she could...obviously her tongue only reached so far! She also carried a quart of stewed tomatoes to the same area but couldn't get the lid off that...

mollymoo...happy stamping week...remember to upload...Do "likes" count as a post?

Ashjoy...I have 3 purple envelopes that need to go in the mail today...one is a birthday card for a friend...but she died on Thursday...I hadn't written inside the card yet when I found out she was in hospice so I didn't send it...but...now I've decided I can't send it to anyone else because I made it for her...so...I'm sending it to her daughter with a note of how precious her mother had become to me...my friend would have been 86 today...I made her daughter a sympathy card too...in purple! My friend liked purple too...

scraperwannabe...I slept 5 hours...does that count? You got only 4...

mrslaird...what is Red Queen Syndrome?

pcousins13...when you don't wear makeup the heat doesn't matter!

Dylan checks the mail on Sat & he'll grab it no matter what time we get home. I would be happy to make it home by 9:42, my guess is it will be closer to 11:42. Maybe I'll be wrong!

Misti, you are awesome. Just have to say it again.

Kramomma, lol on the peaches! That is a determined dog! Red Queen Syndrome is something I read in a book, but I can't remember which one. Jurassic Park maybe? Anyway, it means you have to run as fast as you can to stay in the same spot. You never get ahead, but if you stop running you fall behind. It's supposed to be a reference to Alice Through the Looking Glass when she meets the queens, but it's been so long that I read the Alice books that I can't remember if it's accurate. It aptly describes how I feel sometimes, though!

Scraperwannabe...your son won't be as thrilled as you...but...maybe he will be thrilled because he will be thrilled for you!

mrslaird...I've never read or seen either of those so I'll use your response as my thoughts for Red Queen Syndrome! I've been there before...but thankfully am not there now...and would be glad to never be again...

NOW...where are those links that I need to find for DTGD...I'm afraid I am going to be lost in this endeavor but will in the end be glad to have started...and will finish it whenever I end!

NOW...where are those links that I need to find for DTGD...I'm afraid I am going to be lost in this endeavor but will in the end be glad to have started...and will finish it whenever I end!
I'll join you at that finish line...

So much has come up lately that I don't know that I'll be able to participate in DTGD as much as I had hoped I could... but I will think of you who will be crazy stamping machines... and cheer you on!!!

Misti, you are long on the road already as I write... safe travels and may you enjoy the day, for whatever it holds for you & your family

p13, you also are well on your way this morning... I hope you have a fantastic time today!!

So here's the list for today
1. up
2. dressed
3. fed
4. meds
5. run to auto parts store for oil for dd2's oil change dsil is to do today

6. clean off kitchen counters (they seem to be where everyone drops everything)
7. clean bathrooms (more like S&S)
8. pick up/spruce up the living room
9. go through my teaching bags (yes I know that sounds funny but I have 1 for each topic/subject so I can just grab that bag and know it has all I need in it, books etc)
10. put them back on the shelves with tags on them so I remember which one is for what
11. get the new things for my basic computer class all put in order.
12. gather some already designated yard sale things & put on the car port for a central holding area - will do that after ds leaves on Tues
13. change sheets on 2 beds. DD2 will have to go to a smaller bed while ds & gf will have to take dd2's bed so both need to be changed & washed.
14. try to figure out some kind of schedule (ds could not have come at a worse time for our house. dh has to work Mon night so will need to sleep & I have to work Tues 12 - 10p so I won't get to have dinner with them or say good bye. dd2 has to work Mon 3-11 and dsil works Mon 6-6p so no one will be here really. We thought he was coming next weekend and everyone would be home then. Oh well. Schedules have changed again so I think this one is done.

I guess that's my list for the most of the day.

Joyce - love the pic.

Kra - had to giggle about the dog and not to break the jar is impressive.

Misti - Safe travels and good aim (for the boys). Hope you get some coloring done between the shooting.

Tricia - hope you had fun at the wedding and that your travels were safe. I also wish you loads of fun on your vacation. I agree with not posting much on fb while you're out of town. Like you said, that is an open invitation for a B & E.

Kramomma, so sorry for the loss of your friend.

I have to agree, I'm so glad I'm no longer like that either Kramomma, God threw a wrench in my mission to remind me to slow down and enjoy life, so I have. Most days I try to do it joyfully, but some days I still need a reminder.

I've read both those books Paula, and I can't remember even seeing that, but it sure does sound like it would fit both as you recall.

I am happily stamping this morning. 2 down.....

Hi Donna, your list makes me tired just reading it.

Joyce - most of it isn't so much really work just sorting - so no REAL effort. The biggest things are the kitchen, bathrooms & living room (mostly just picking up a few things). The bedrooms will be easy.

All the things you've done in your house ceilings to floors and everything in between really makes me feel like my lists are just fluff.

I forgot I had to run a couple more errands while I went to the auto parts store so they are done now too.

Strip a bed for the washer and hit the kitchen.

Good morning ladies,
I know I don't get on here much but I guess that's mostly because I'm not much of a daily blogger, also, I feel that you all are pretty close friends (by what I read here) and I feel like I'm the outsider or new kid on the block (or blog). However, with the end of the month approaching faster than I want it to, I thought I'd chime in this morning.

I thought I'd have my card done by now but I don't. I've had so much going on this month that I barely had time to do anything but make cards for convention.
In addition to convention, we purchased a cabin in the mountains of Utah. We got the keys the day after I left for convention so my husband and the kids (four legged ones) went up to the cabin.
After a very action packed and fun filled week at convention, I went to the cabin to join my dh and the kids. I really love the cabin, but three sets of stairs is a little much. I quickly found out that although the cabin looked pretty, nice and neat, it was really very dirty. So I did what I do best, cleaned. I started on the main floor (2nd floor) and then finished with the bottom floor where the mud room and a bedroom and bathroom are located.
I was pretty done it by the time I finished cleaning those two floors but I never did finish cleaning the windows and window coverings before we had to head back to Nevada for a few doctor appointments.
After spending a day and a half in Nevada, we packed up the car and truck with more things we needed at the cabin and left NV around 8pm and arrived in UT around 10:30pm (MT)
We were so tried when we got here so we just unloaded what was needed and went to bed. The next day we finished unloading the vehicles and went into the little town for a day at the festival.
That only lasted about 1 1/2 hours because it started to rain and then it turned cold so we returned to the cabin and slept most of the day away.
Today we will go back to the festival for a little bit (until it starts raining again) and then we will come back to the cabin. I hope that I'll be able to work on my card at that time but I still have so much cleaning to do.
Last night I slept in another bed (as I often do because of pain) and took my little girl with me (Molly). She got sick around 4am and threw up a little on the bed so I'm having to wash bedding this morning as well.
I am just realizing that I'm probably telling you all a little more than you want to know about my life, so I better cut it short here.
So in short, I will be working my card today and tomorrow and hopefully get it posted by Monday but no later than Wednesday.
I actually made a wordless card for convention and thought about posting that one for our blog, but then thought that was cheating. So I'll work on another one for you gals. LOL

BY THE WAY I was wondering what does DTGD mean? Just wondering.

Queen, I think I'm the newbie here but I think I can speak for all when I say we would love to see your convention card blogged for us Sounds like you were on a fun adventure to a few states, despite having to clean and rain it's nice to just get away. Is the cabin yours or is it rented? I hope it's yours after all that work you put in.

DTGD (Dare to Get Dirty) is the Split Coast Member Challenge week here at SCS. You have to be a fan club member to play along. There are 41 challenges over the next week.

I've finished 4 of todays challenges, just have a sketch and Time challenge remaining, I'm quite sure I don't have any time related stamps so will have to stretch my imagination on that one.

Queenbea...please feel a part of the group...there are lots of lurkers...and if it weren't for the posters there wouldn't be any flyers!

In cyberspace we think we know each other...but it's only by what we post! So...come play in the Flybaby section...flutter and sputter...fly higher...learn from what others post...

We all began at the same spot...the beginning!!!!

Some learned faster than others...some of us are still here uhm...I'll just say years later...I'm still here cause the days I'm not..well it usually means I'm living in CHAOS...

Your cabin sounds peaceful...this morning krapoppa drove me to town (4 miles) so I could do some errands (he always likes to go with me to the bank...wants to be sure if they ever give away free money that he gets some too! )...

During our conversation I mentioned how much I have liked living here for 17 years...though at first I didn't like the dirt that was in the house because it was someone else's...and now it is my dirt...His response was...our house is not dirty, you keep it very nice! Melt...

I assured him it is decluttered but there is still dirt places that I don't bother cleaning...he assured me that he is happy in our home...

SO...now you know a little about me!

I just made my first DTGD challenge...I've never been a Fan Club Member before...here's a link Join the Splitcoaststampers Fan Club: Special Galleries, Forums & More We aren't allowed to tell you details of the challenges...we are "secret agents"! So they tell us...I'm overwhelmed but people are helping me...and I just finished ONE challenge and am smiling with myself!

Queen - I'm not sure who the newest member of the group is but I'm a newby too (I've only been on here since Jan or so). Please do not feel like an outsider or anything else. And you are not sharing too much. We love to hear about what all is going on in each other's lives. These ladies, I have found, are a wonderful group who help bolster you up when you need that moment of support.

I do not post every day and have actually missed 2 months entirely so not hitting it every day is fine. Post when you can. Most of us post blips about what we're doing with our families, etc and lists of what we hope to accomplish that day. Some of us have small children, some have grown children, some have grand children and some have furry children. We love to hear about all of them.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is chime in when you can, chat when you want to and know we're happy to have you join us.
