Well, since I now know that I don't know what tomorrow will bring, I should get off my booty as Ezra calls it and get started with today.

TDD:
Dress
Start laundry
Get a card ready to mail

I did think to say good morning to you but I was really hoping you were asleep!

Was just downstairs and I think I felt some inspiration move inside me so maybe after I wash the dishes, take a shower and get dressed I will go to the basement...

Not enough items on my list to purchase to merit a shopping trip...so...won't go to town!

I wonder...is there a difference between energy and desire?

Something for me to ponder...

that's a good point, kramomma. I think they may be connected....

The way I see it is that if there's a deep desire, there is often found the energy.
And, if there's really no desire, then it's easy to not find/have enough energy.

But. Can there be desire and still no energy?

I would say yes, but that would have to be extreme situations (like being ill).

If I'm really honest with myself, then I'd have to say that in most cases, it's a lack of desire (or maybe even some laziness thrown into the mix) and sometimes I just have to 'hit the suction button' and NIKE (just do it) and therein I find the energy.

just some rambling thoughts...

Thanks! My dad often tells me that there will come a day when my body will require more sleep... My dad doesn't require much sleep either. I was hoping I could go a few more years!

It's okay... I wanted to take the rest of this week off to ease into things & my boys are saying they have to jump right back into training. So, we'll go with it! Maybe if I keep telling myself I don't need more than 5 hours a night, I'll believe it!

I think it just depends. Some people have a lot of energy and seem to not need much down time. Other people need more rest, more margin, more stillness. I have the desire to sew. The only time I have the opportunity to sew is after everyone is in bed. By that time, I no longer have the energy to sew and go to bed instead. Or I knit, which is a much more restful, peaceful thing with no ironing.

But I do think they're related. If my desire to sew was stronger I might sew as soon as Jeff gets home, but my desire to spend time with him is much stronger. Most of the time.

Getting ready to walk to PT. Then lots of online stuff when I get back...of course just what the PT lady doesn't want me doing a lot of! LOL

Oh yeah....I struggle with insomnia but it's definitely less often than it used to be. I still have a lot of energy issues....but chronic pain and illness are most responsible. I'm just seriously working on including some type of exercise at least a couple days a week and maybe adding more someday. I rarely get to have caffeine and on a lot less sugar....so I don't get my fake energy anymore! LOL

Lee, gone are the Dr. Pepper, Pepsi or coffee days

hope your PT appt goes well... and maybe you can do the online stuff 15 at a time so you don't undo all the good from PT?

agreed. chronic pain &/or illness sap energy big time... desire sometimes goes then too

got the grass cut. Should go out and sweep the sidewalk yet but that'll get done later

good news: B doesn't necessarily have to wear the helmet - if the parents decide on it, it'll be mostly for cosmetic reasons. They'll submit a claim to health insurance to see how much (if any) will be covered and then make a decision after that.

Also. C has been offered a different job - IT & music. A job offer is supposed to be ready by the end of the week. The potential employer is C's guitar instructor from college... It could be a good move for him. Certainly a little more risk than working for one of the top banks in the country. But with the job comes much more challenge and learning which C would like. So, I'm praying for much discernment for C&C as they try to decide whether or not to accept.

So lots of decisions on their plate...

I put in two hours with that small contract job I got for the summer. Now I'm off to the basement to see if I can sand more off the top of that end table. Upon reading furniture redo blogs I see that I don't have enough taken off yet...it was REALLY shiny.

Thanks I hope so too. She's got to get a break somewhere, for that matter so do I. She is one of the biggest stressors in my life. I know I should give it to God, an I try, but I seem to keep taking it back. ARG!!!

Awww Paula...if I lived close I'd take the kids for you. Hope Jeff is all fixed up soon!

Misti....what??? It's the PT lady that gives me pain....so much pain! LOL Although it's helping, especially the tennis elbow and the posture. Other pain awaits more tests.

Edith.....that is a lot of decision making....both of mine are still looking for jobs. It's not an easy market still.

Kramomma....enjoy lunch!

And everyone....have a lovely afternoon!

Funny...when I have energy I often have no desire to do the things that need doing...when I have the desire I either don't have the energy or someone else thinks I need to be doing for them.

Happy B doesn't HAVE to wear the helmet but I understand about the cosmetic part of it. Our Buddy had a neck/head brace and a hand brace he had to wear for cosmetic,in part, reasons.

Good luck to C and the job offer.

It does sound like they do have lots of decisions coming down the pipeline.

Now let's try this again, so for today I'm going
to put my small file cabinet on wheels
Roll it to the dinning room.
Pull the 3 or so boxes of papers that need filing there too
spend some time sorting & filing (some of it is teaching stuff & some is SU stuff that goes in another cabinet)

My goal is to get at least 1/3 sorted & filed before dh gets up

with it out like that instead of in the back room I'm more apt to work on it

I also will
Get dressed
Take am meds
Take pm meds
Eat breakfast

I got 'er done this time! Plus I got three of the legs hand sanded...then my uncle showed up for a short visit so I had to put down my sand paper.

Now I want to have a cup of tea and then finish up that last leg.
