I'm certain that you & your family were a huge blessing all those years...

and I certainly do understand the 'missing Kub'. It's hard when they leave to make their way on their own. It leaves a person-shaped hole that just doesn't get filled easily.

Do you hear much from your Burma-bound-boys?

Hey y'all!

Another rainy day! I had to drive over water on our creek about 8 inches deep and running fast. Now it's pouring. Glad I don't have to go out again today! The creek has a marker on it that measures up to 6 feet! I can't imagine !!!

Their main desire has not come to fulfillment yet but they have learned a lot and have found that being foreigners is expensive!

Hey y'all! We are home! Went to the library and got a ton of books, finally mailed a box to a friend that I have been meaning to send for far too long, and went to Walmart where they charged me $2 a box for 25 cent boxes of crayons. We took them back.

Not sure what's for supper. Menu plans that involve more than one chicken meal ONLY work if I get into Houston to buy chicken. Guess that will be my main goal tomorrow or I will rework things and we will cook fish meals instead. I can get that in town.

On the card issue, I really think I should stop sending cards with packages. Or rather, I should stop waiting to send cards with a package. If I can buy an occasional coffee at Starbucks, I can spare the money for an extra stamp an envelope, ya know?

My allergies, and Nicks, were really bad today and I couldn't figure out why. I just found out that we had an air quality warning because we were getting smoke from the Quebec fires again. We were supposed to stay inside, if possible, today. I wish I had known this earlier! I was here with the windows and doors open all day!

Woo Hoo for spidy but so sorry you couldn't find what you wanted. Have you tried on-line? Just google the type of fabric you're looking for. You may find some luck there.

How about you getting your entire upstairs clean. I wish you could seen Mr Clean here for a while. LOL No really my house is not too bad right now with the exception of a couple of rooms and I know what I need to do in them.

I have, but the shipping prices are INSANE! I will be looking in St. John's when we go on our vacation. They have a Michael's...I cannot go to St. John's and not visit Michael's! At least now I will have an excuse to use with the family! LOL! Actually, I think there is a McDonalds with the slide in the area where Michael's is. I may send Brent and the kids there while I shop!

I plan on continuing on my mission of walls being washed down tomorrow. Going to do the dining room. One room a day by myself is more then enough. My walls have not been washed in a long time. It feels so nice and fresh, I can't wait for the downstairs to be done.

Scrapping today was fun. My friend has a sillhouette so I was able to cut some of the images for Flourishes stamps I have. I can't wait to play with them. It will be so nice not to have to fussy cut them.

Tricia, I can't believe those fires are still going. Is it at all under control? Are homes still in danger?

My dh is giving me a pedicure. Love him!

The round end table has a sanded top! I tried to do the legs, but I need to hand sand it(as opposed to my electric sander)...and the black flies are awful out there tonight! Plus...it was getting dark. But, it was very relaxing for me! Especially since the kids stayed inside!

I think I may make it into a clock table...not sure if I will put hands on it and have it as a working clock (with a raised plexiglass top) or just have roman numerals without the hands. I think what will really happen is I will get it done without the hands and live with it for a while before I determine if I want it to be an actual clock!

WOW! DH is a keeper for sure!!!

Yes, the fires are still going. The town of Wabush seems to be out of danger, but there are still other fires popping up. I am not sure how the fires in Quebec are going, but we are certainly suffering the effects of the smoke!

bummer about the material, Patricia

How long are you going to be gone, Lee? Is this a vacation or work?

Time to start thinking about supper. We just got home a little while ago and I didn't really think supper through before we left the house today!
How tough, having to have surgery on a little one. We went through many with Buddy (dgs2) but that was a different story. Hopefully they will figure out what is going on and why.

How frustrating when mother nature doesn't want to work with us when we have a project we want to get done.

take canning extras downstairs

take out garbage
figure out spot for non-canning jars to be stored until picked up

Not in any way to put a damper on your michaels trip (perish the thought!!!!!) but in the states anyway they don't sell fabric. Just don't want you to be disappointed!

OMG! That was so funny and I so resemble it. I must say that I have been good of late though. I can't actually remember the last time I bought something from the craft store other than for those crafts dd1 was working on for the classes for the college she'll be teaching.

That sucks! But, there should be a place there in that area with fabric...and I still have to go to Michael's for just cardstock! (Yeah, right! )

I am so with you...liked the post but not the headache/scratchy throat. Don't send it to me either. After 2 10 days of antibiotics I'm finally feeling a bit better (well except this headache that comes and goes but mostly with the thunderstorms so much be related).

Hope you feel better soon.

DH bought me one for Mother's day. I like it but I'm still not sure what all I can do with it. Need to find a class or someone who knows something about them. Have fun!

OMG! 24 floors, I'd be so uncomfortable with that and would have to either keep the blinds closed or try to remember not to look down.
