Swollen? Are you sure its shot flash? Sounds more like an allergic reaction. I don't think swelling is normal for hot flashes.

Good luck Kramamma, with the hot flashes and the jams. There are times when I have a slight swelling, especially in the mornings, with mine as well. Drink plenty of water - that should help some.

Hope you cool off so it is not unbearably hot while you try to cook.

Pretty sure it's hot flashes...it's all done and over with now...my body is back to "normal"...

When I have hot flashes during the night (feeling the very same way) I sometimes break out in hives horribly...and the doctor says it's hot flashes...she says that you can cause yourself to have hives from a panic/anxiety...

Good morning.

Ill start the day with my normal routines but then my .mom is coming to help me wash walls. It took me all day to do one room so hoping with the two of us we can get the upstairs finished today.

Kitchen routine
Gather cleaning supplies
Breakfast
Make dessert to take to tomorrow's scrappy get together.

See you all after my cleaning festival. The really nice part is I don't have any clutter so deep cleaning shouldn't take much extra along the way.

I called a floor cleaner yesterday about coming to do all my floors, he is coming Friday to give me a price. Grout is just to much for me to take on.

I'm also going to pay my .mom for helping me clean so she has some money towards her supplemental insurance. Then discuss her helping me clean twice a month so she has some extra money.

I'm also going to try to introduce her to paper crafting so she has a relaxing hobby. We will see how that goes.

I am so not looking forward to that! Just out of curiosity at what age do these trials start?

My nephews wife who has never had children is 44 going through menopause right now...she said that if you don't have children you go through it earlier.

I am 55...having started nighttime hot flashes about 9 months ago...have read that foods and clothing both affect hot flashes...so...on to learning how to deal with the daytime ones now...trade one female situation for another...our bodies are very detailed!

Oh good gravy., glad to know I should have a few years anyway. My luck ill start early regardless of having had a baby. Looking forward to loosing the first step, not looking forward to the rest. The doctor has already told me to NEVER take any supplements related to hormones as they will greatly increase my risk of having another stroke.

I did have about 3 months of pleasure in there with neither happening! At least with the cycle during the "normal" years I knew when to expect it...not so in the last 10 years...and now hot flashes...well...there is not predictability at all...

I got a lot of cleaning done yesterday. Nothing for good will yet. But, I went through 3 big bags of stuff that I had stowed and cleared them out. A lot of shredding of old receipts. A lot of recycling of old paper. Felt good. I also got 3 loads of laundry done.

We had so much rain that our water tanks are full again! Thank you lord! We practice a lot of water conservation tips in the house like turning off water while brushing teeth, or washing hands. I was starting to turn off water while soaping up in the shower, collecting sink water for our plants around the pool and front of house... Today I'm taking a whole shower again!

My mom started menopause at 42. Her mother was in her early 40's when she started too. I am not looking forward to my 40's!

Good morning! I gotta get started on my list. I'm going to tackle the kitchen first, since that one won't take very long at all. Then I have to run out to Home Hardware, Frenchies, and the Post Office.

A quick pop in....gotta get extra hummer food made and all the feeders filled to the brim with fresh. We go thru a LOT of sugar all summer! Gotta call SIL and see if she can come check on the feeders while we're gone.

Pretty much all packed up to leave.
GKD hop up and hopped thru.
Cards/envelopes ready to take.
Need to stamp images to color.

Have a great day everyone!!!

Could not find suitable material at Frenchies...or the polyfil, or the upholstery needles. I did find a like-new Spiderman winter coat for Nicholas for $5!

Plus they had a spiderman hat and pair of gloves to match for $2.50! I love when I can get good deals like that...and keep used stuff out of the landfill. The coat looks like it was never worn. Sometimes Frenchies get stuff in from stores that close out or old stock. I bet it was in that category.

I was disappointed not to find material, though. I looked in the sheet/material bin plus I went through the new stuff they have. (A section of the store is a sewing center place. Not very big and not a lot of choice, but a look didn't hurt.)

My upstairs is something even Mr Clean would be proud of. Took 5 hours but is cleaned from top to bottom. Including windows and window treatments.

Next
Ironing
And a nice relaxing bath before getting dressed for dinner.

Have a fun trip Lee. Off to check ou the hop.

I love Spidy, what a great deal Tricia.

good news and not so good news.

Elisabeth does not have a tumor growing from the ear drum

not so good news, it's not going to go away with the prescribed drops she's been taking for 8 weeks. This is our 4th visit and it's now time to schedule surgery.

Dr. still doesn't know why it's there...they will send it away and find out more info after surgery.

I am reading everyone's posts of getting so much done!!! I wish I could post something similar!!!

bummer about the material, Patricia

How long are you going to be gone, Lee? Is this a vacation or work?

Time to start thinking about supper. We just got home a little while ago and I didn't really think supper through before we left the house today!

Oh Angie. Dealing with doctors, especially doctors for your children, is getting something done. That is a huge thing. Hugs!!!! I hope it's a super simple surgery and she doesn't really have to go under. Prayers!

We are home, but about to leave again. I brought the laundry in so it doesn't get rained on. I would *like* to leave the dog loose in the house during swim - it will just be 45 min - but I'm not doing that if he doesn't go outside and so far he hasn't.

Hoping to go through the house and pick up/declutter/toss pretty much until Jeff gets home. I'm thinking soft tacos for supper. I still haven't made it out to the kosher Kroger to get some chicken.

I couldn't get the full coat of polyrylic done...it needed to be in a well ventilated area (by my basement door) and it was so windy that dirt started to blow in. So, I put it up for a less windy day.

I have been sitting here on the couch too long. I need to get something ready for supper...but I don't know what. I think it will include cheese, whatever it is.

2 batches freezer strawberry jam3 batches freezer cherry jam
3 batches cooked cherry jam

My counter is full...and the last of the dishes are soaking...then still to do before I can relax today:

f/p whites
remake master bed
f/p towels
take canning extras downstairs
admire jams some more-canning makes me giggle!
take out garbage
figure out spot for non-canning jars to be stored until picked up
iron 2 shirts

Would like to make a card but...that isn't going to happen today...and hasn't since last Wednesday...think I'm having withdrawl...

Figured out supper...it will be oven baked spaghetti. The spaghetti is boiling, the sauce is cooked, and the cheese is shredded. Once the spaghetti finishes it will all go in the oven for 30 minutes. The kids are getting hungry...so I hope that it is a quick 30 minutes.
