So yesterday was a major bust on nearly everything.

I got the dishes washed, made hot tea/coffee and made the bed. I think that was about it. I have felt poorly for the last several days and spent yesterday doing, basically nothing.

Today is a new day

I have already

made the bed (or as much as I can with the hubs still in it)
ate breakfast
made hot water for tea or me (refer back up to hubs)
read some inspirational reading this am

to do today
3 loads of laundry
take a shower
look through my recipe books and come up with a list of new recipes so I can start cooking more at home
post some beach reservations on Craigs list
WHB the large bathroom
shake the rugs around the cat's litter box (dh scoops but will not shake the rugs)
30 minutes on CRC
30 minutes on CRC

We'll see how it goes form there. I'm still not feeling great but I'm going to work through it anyway.

Hope everyone has a very nice day.

another great thought! I've been quilting every night and I like feeling the progress. Usually I get one flower done per night (about an hour) but last night we put the kids to bed a half-hour early and I didn't hang out on the computer so I got 2 flowers done! It's not all that creative at this point but it is about finishing what I started (in about 1993) and concentrating on making stitches small and even. still lots of work to do there (and I need to learn how to do the rocker stitch..I think that will help. I need someone to show/coach me on that and my quilting aunts are all focused on my grandma...as they should be). I haven't scrapped or made cards in AGES.

Good morning y'all!

Company gone. I got them on they road after a bacon egg and toast breakfast. I don't know why, but when I have company I feel like I don't have a minute to myself. I wait anxiously for when they get up/ come out. Don't want them to be afraid to make coffe/ eat so I get up early and wait.... And then all day I'm making sure that they have what they need or taking them out some place.... So,that by the end of the day I'm exhausted. In a good way, but ooooh I need my mornings when I can just sit and relax with my coffee!

So company gone And dh working for the day, he'll be back tonight. So I'm gonna relax!

To do
Wash guest room sheets
Remake guest bed
Clean guest bath
Hand wash wine glasses

I'm staring to feel better. I've been puttering around since about 9 and am pretty tired so I am SITTING for a bit. I did a bit more cleaning in the basement play room, helped Miss K empty the d/w, got kids ready to go on hike with DH in the snow and other piddly little things.

There are some things I'd like to get done today though (in between resting). I didn't end up washing bedding yesterday (other than comforter) b/c about the time I was going to strip our bed and throw laundry in, I was stripping Miss K's bed to make and discovered that she had made a solid circle the size of a half dollar in orange marker on her fitted sheet. So....we worked on that. Then I didn't want to put in anything after that b/c I wanted HER to come down with me to check it so...it waited uintil this AM.

So...here's my list for today:

Shower and dress in comfy clothes
Call Miss K's teacher
Empty shredder/new bag
Shred 5 min. x 3 ONE DONE
f/p 2 loads
Strip bed
Wash sheets/mattress pad/encasings
Wash blanket
Make bed
Quilt
Find normal lang. chart
Find normal speech chart
Type thoughts for speaking engagement

I was asked to speak to a college class on Feb. 5 by a colleague who is teaching a class in child development at the jr. college. I'm very flattered., esp since I am the less experienced SLP at my school. We don't work together directly but I saw her at IEP meetings. She worked for the ARC and would be at meetings to tell parents about services their young person could receive while in school and options for after they left our program.

Suzanne (((hugs))) I remember when all this started. I know it was awful for you. But, it sounds like you have a lovely life now . Take a little time to grieve the loss. But then, hope you can get past this and on with better happier days!

Cher, what kind of heart issues does Zack have? How old is he? I had a grandson who had VACTERL and hypoplastic left heart syndrome was part of his cardiac issues. I spent many days at the cardiologist's office with him and dd1. His dad was more often than not at work - not complaining just reporting.

Zack is 5 months. He was born with TGA Transposition of the Great Arteries. He had open heart surgery at 1 week old to correct the placement. We spent the first month of his life at Dell Children's Hospital here in Austin, Texas.

Done except for the messy counter...it has dishes that need to go in the dishwasher which is currently washing dishes. I will save that for after the dishwasher is done and unloaded!

I'm guessing my guy had the same thing along with the other issues. We called it Transversion of the Greater Arteries where the aorta and pulmonic artery are reversed. He went through 2 of the 3 heart surgeries. The first one was at 3 weeks (he had a slew of other issues that had to be taken care of first). We spent 16 weeks & 1 day at Duke Children's Hospital in Durham NC before finally getting to go home. He did well with each of those surgeries. So sorry you guys are having to go through all that and sure will send prayers that all continues to go well.

Good thought.

Hello folks. I laid on the couch and watched the last episode of Private Practice. i think they ended the series well. I also did a bunch of shredding. I think I will have to add another "empty shredding/put new bag in". There is SUCH a big pile! I know I should shred as I go but don't like to run it when kids are in bed. My little guy startles at any noise. But...there are plenty of "awake" times to shred. Every now and then I get one of hte kids to shred for a little bit. They like it! that reminds me...I will add that job to next week's WHB. Didn't do one this week. Just trying to survive!

I am almost done with lunch (can of chicken noodle soup) then will take a shower and see what else I can get done.

We'll see how it goes form there. I'm still not feeling great but I'm going to work through it anyway.

Hope everyone has a very nice day.
What's a CRC? In my current state of mind/body I'm thinking "Couch ReCliner"

What a good way to take a study break (and a cleaning break). Sounds like a good balance. Keep chugging along at that homework! You're doing great!

Soooo....I don't know if I have shared the big news yet? My mom is moving back to MI!!!! She hasn't lived her since about 1980 (I typed 1908 at first.....whoa!) Since then she's lived in TX, MA, SC and FL. My grandma (her mom) needs more care and she can't find anything that meets her needs that's not God-awful or affordable enough. Plus she had a cardiac scare in the fall (ended up being stress from Grandma. heart is fine) and really got to thinking. She wants to live here by us! I am surprised and SO thrilled! I have been helping her research places for my grandma to live. I went and took a 2nd look at a place Friday afternoon and put in an application. My aunt (who took care of grandma for a while) just brought me over some papers re: SS/pension and mom will be faxing the Affordable Housing app to the facility Mon. She was thinking about April but now it looks like March 1st!!!! So excited.

So..a question....do any of you northerners (or cold climate folks) have Renaud's Phenomenon (poor circulation in extremities)? Any tips for surviving the cold weather? My mom has been known to wear mittens inside my brother's air-conditioned house.

CRC stands for Career Readiness Certificate. You have to do 80+ topics which have 3-4 or more sub topics with a quiz at the end. Then once you've finished all those you take a 3 big tests. 1 each on Locating (the most difficult one), Reading, and Math (I think). You can earn certificates in different levels (Bronze, Sliver, Gold and Platinum). The goal is at least Gold. Basically what it boils down to is a group of tests to show that you are trainable. Many companies across the US are requesting this certificate from their employees. Since I teach in teh department that teaches this they have nicely put a little pressure on getting it as well. I will admit it is kinda unfair to teach students something that you know little about.

BUT I do like your Couch, ReCline. That's more how I feel lately.

So dh is finally up and is cooking the bacon to go with the eggs (sometimes I get sick when I cook bacon and cannot eat it thought I love it). I'll go make up his side of the bed now and start some laundry.

It really sucks when you have to wait on someone else's schedule to get done what you need to do.

It is! When the homework gets too overwhelming I can escape to the craft room...where the cleaning is even fun because I have been unearthing some things that I forgot I had! Most of it brand new and not over opened! I got A LOT more to do in there before its comfortable to craft again. The last 15 minutes got the floor directly in front of the desk over to the wall all cleaned! You know those rooms that most of us had or have? The ones that become the dumping ground for stuff? Well...that's my craft room. I need to get all that stuff cleaned out of there before I am comfy in there. I did just stand there and stare at my craft table area for a few minutes before I came upstairs! It looks so nice all clean! Do doubt! There is still a bit of clutter there...and I COULD weed it out...but I really don't mind a bit of clutter in the craft room. As long as its not taking over. All of it is crafty stuff clutter. I don't see me buying anything new this year...except for cardstock and, maybe, a Silhouette. No more stamps or embellishments need to come in this house for a while!!!

That's awesome!!!!

My grandfather had poor circulation and he used to wear long underwear and cover up in electric blankets. Plus he would get a massage on his legs from his homecare worker everyday. That seemed to help. He was always cold, though.

So exciting finding "new" things! Like Christmas all over again. yes, unfortunately I do know about dumping rooms. The main one used to be the guest room but now that it is Kylie's room it has become the basement (where the furniture from that room went) and the upstairs hall and our bedroom Slowly but surely I am making a dent in these areas.
