still need toothpicks this morning even after a good night of rest... must be that the last few were shorter than short

first up: cuppa java and then hopefully I'll be motivated to tackle some reading and writing assignments

woke to a text msg from DD2: "will you please contact Dr B to get a lactose free diet prescribed for me also? I'm slowly dying here with this current diet. I'll explain more after the weekend." oy. This will make for a long two days for this momma

I don't cook with any seasoning...and I use sliced chicken for supper tonight then in other meals this week after I debone it.

Tonight I will put the bones in the same bag overnight with water to cook on low until tomorrow morning when I will drain the bones. Put it in the fridge to cool then store in freezer bags...use it to make my own chicken condense for hot dishes or gravy..

I'm learning...

Oh...I do put the chicken in frozen...or thawed...doesn't seem to matter...
thanks for this. very interesting. hmmm...using the bags, great idea.

Good Saturday morning ladies!

I'm feeling a bit behind today. I could not get sleepy last night until about 2 this am then when I laid down my back and neck would not let me sleep so at 3:30 I was up taking meds for them and hit my recliner with the heating pad - hello 5am and finally, good night. Then 10:30 was here and I'm wide awake. I'm afraid I'm trying to come down with bronchitis and sinusitis, again - just got over it about 3 weeks ago. So what is my list for today

Done so far
Make a pot of hot water for coffee (for the hubs) and hot tea (for me)
Make the bed (he finally got up)
Talk with DD1 (Jessica) about getting her shop vac to do heating vents, etc
Take a 30 min soaking bath in hopes that the back will be nicer

To do
1 -Put dishes away - we have a dishwasher but with only 2 of us now I don't use it
2 -Fold sheets from last night's laundry and put away
3 -Wash a load of delicates
4 -Go to Staples for a few supplies for dh for work and for me to organize some
5 -Re-read the Pinterest post ref cleaning heating vents
6 -Purchase a new toilet brush to use for the vent project
7 -Finish taking down and putting away the last bit of Christmas decorations
8 =Spend 5 minutes in each room and see what I can get accomplished
9 -Get more tomatoes for the chili (boy am I having trouble getting it right this time but I like to let it cook for a while anyway)
10- Figure out something for dinner, though if I'm lucky the hubs will have that planned out for when we go on our errands
11 - Forgot that I probably need to eat some breakfast

So now I'm off to hit the but tub then get my day really going.

Hope you all have a great Saturday!
hope you feel better, epsom salts has been my good friend these last couple of weeks. i will be visiting with her today too!

i don't use crock pot bags! just spray the crock with PAM - the name brand, not the generic.

I haven't gotten much of my own list done yet due to helping/supervising kiddos with their work. I've been picking up here and there. My little dude has been a cleaning fool! He did all the things on the list except the living room windows and Miss K's room. Her room is a WRECK. She is not happy with me b/c I am making her put away the things that she just stashes somewhere else (like on the floor of her closet or the sink of her play kitchen) instead of putting them where they go. She got really whiny so I told her she could finish after she was done with nap. Now....can't vacuum but I can take care of some quieter things. I"ll start off with a TDD:

1. Start load of bedding
2. Clean oven
3. Another 15 min. kitchen hot spot patrol

(Oh...starting load of bedding involves another step or 2 before I can do it......take quilt out of laundry basket and put quilt on couch to mend when I take a break, take load out of dryer, switch loads)

Ok....this is done but I am now on round 2 of oven cleaning. I am trying out the lemon juice/baking soda method (with a vinegar chaser). OMG my rag is just BLACK. It's been a while since I cleaned the oven. ....

Great job! I love the last part of your list (though now I am on a quilt kick so I would relax by quilting).

In fact, after I'm done with this round of oven cleaning, I will relax on the couch and mend the quilt that goes on our bed while watching Grey's Anatomy (I'm a week behind). If I get the quilt done, then I will work on my quilt. When Grey's is done (or kids get up, whichever is first), it's back to work!

Oh Marnie! I enjoyed "Greys" this week!

I'm back from the party and I have a little bit of computer work to do (typing tutor) and then get a list on the go. Brent is making supper so I don't have to worry about that!

Am waiting to hear if the Chicken recipe link passed the taste test last night?

Am trying to decide what to make with leftover chicken...

JaneenK...any possibility you would like to share your potpie recipe on the recipe thread?

Red Bear would like some chicken-n-noodles...minus the chicken! He wants the broth from the chicken...it does make the noodles taste so yummy...

I don't really have one. I will look up in my Betty Crocker cookbook but don't hold me to doing what they say, I just look at it for general guidelines. Do you have a Betty Crocker book? Simple, good pics, easy directions. I got mine as a gift when we got married I don't know about the new ones.

Apple crisp is baking...I tried sewing this afternoon but don't have enough fabric to finish the jumper I'm wanting to make so I didn't even cut it out...might need a different pattern...

Now that is an idea...why didn't I think of that 2 hours ago?

Donna, we kid with each other but it's all in good fun. Never critical. We all make silly typos so please don't feel offended. We are glad you are here!
I am so not worried about it. I nearly spewed my water all over my laptop when I saw what you guys did. I thought I would, to quote Adele at the Golden Globes, "piss myself laughing". I do not believe in taking life so seriously all the time. LOL

I'm done with the typing tutor for today! That is one class that I am really struggling with. I can type...just not the "proper" way that they want. At least I have all the letters down and what finger is supposed to hit it. I make some mistakes, though. I really need to get my speed up. The at home typing tutor is helping a lot though!!!
