Good morning! Got up and made Jeff breakfast, a sandwich for lunch, and some cookies. A nice domestic start to the morning.

Good morning y'all!

Today we r heading to town. Dh is going with me and that will help a lot. So to the mall to return a toaster/ convection oven that I bought befor Christmas and haven't used yet then I am going to buy the new cruisineart toaster/convection/ steam oven!!! Can't wait to try baking bread in it. I had a steam oven in md and loved it!

Also going to a sport store to buy dh some waders as he and ds are going fly fishing. And I need new tennis shoes as mine are falling apart. Then Costco, Whole Foods and HEB.

Also the kids come today with Zachary! And, they are gonna stay until Monday. Yay!

Got all my chores done yesterday so I'm in great shape.

You kick it, Melissa! I don't have red cowboy boots (or any cowboy boots, but I am watching some at Target in case they go on sale), but I have red lipstick. Red lipstick days are just a bit sassier than regular days.

ETA - Who sends a 4 page email for something like that?!

I don't understand why you buy supplies! You should put your foot down and let them know that that is unacceptable and you aren't gonna do it anymore! And that you can't do the work if they don't supply the supplies needed!!! Stand up for you! It might bring you some PEACE !

Hmph. Almost everything in the Use Every Stamp class is video. I don't feel like switching computers so I guess that's my cue to get up and get started. Maybe I can watch on the ipad this weekend.

Aw, that's sweet! If I beat you I can probably share some, too. I have a TON of pictures, but does every single one need to be in an album?

Today's Mini Mission:

Spend 5 min working in the "OTHER" room. It might not feel like 5 min will make that much of a difference, but 5 min + 5 min + 5 min will add up!

Do you move them in during the cold or just cover them in case of freeze?

We moved our grove into the barn. We have 1 lemon, 1 orange, and one lime tree. I have about 6 lemons that look almost ripe. A few very small lime and oranges. I think they suffered transplant shock when we got them. I'm hoping for better results this year!

Do you have any special care secrets?

Hahaha!!! No. I do not have any special secrets. At all. Everything we have is fairly hardy. If I know it's going to freeze, I cover things with sheets, but they're in the ground so we don't move them. We don't really fertilize. We don't use pesticides except for ant poison. We're not green thumbs. This is the first year we've gotten more than just a couple of lemons and we've had the tree for 4 years. So my secret is don't give up on it.

UHM...can anyone think of a food item for using plastic knives? I have 1,100

One box of 500 never opened and one of 600 never opened...UHM...did I really purchase those boxes?

Maybe someone gave them to me as a gift?

I am always amazed what one can find on the internet.....

Katrina Wright: What to do with leftover plastic knives Abilene Reporter-News

Quote:

Dear Too Many Knives: Packages of plastic cutlery usually include the same number of forks, spoons and knives. Unfortunately, not as many foods require knives and there end up being more left over at the end of the package. Here are some ideas on what you can do with all of them:
Buy forks and spoons. Next time you host a party, purchase individual packages of forks and spoons that will match the knives you already have.
Stirring sticks. Plastic knives make good stirring sticks for small cans of paint, drink mixes and even coffee.
Spread kits. Use ranch or Italian dressing seasoning packets (or seasoning blend of your choice) and repackage in decorative plastic bags or cellophane. Attach the seasoning bag to the knife with tape and place in a small, food-safe bowl. Include the following directions: "Empty one tub of spreadable cream cheese into bowl and sprinkle with herbs. Stir with knife and use as a spread on crackers, bagels or toast."
Garden markers. Use a permanent marker to write the names of plants on the knives.
Crafts. Make a dragonfly shape by overlapping two knives to form an "x". Hot-glue them together in the center to form wings and then glue to the flat side of another knife for the body and decorate as desired. To make a wreath, hot-glue the tips of the knives together until you have formed a complete circle. The wreath can be decorated with spray paint and, if desired, a decoration can be added to the center to cover the glue.
Tools for modeling clay. Every child who enjoys clay can use extra plastic knives to cut, chop and dice it into small pieces.
Art aids. Kids can use plastic knives as an alternative to a paint brush with paints or tempera. They can also be used as collage additions, to scrape excess paint or clay off other projects and to create texture rubbings.
Cooking with kids. Plastic knives are a great tool for kids in the kitchen. The blades are sharp enough that they can learn to cut fruit, vegetables and some meats, but not sharp enough to hurt themselves.

Right, I had a feeling that is what you would say. So I will be patient and be glad of what I did get. I would love to add a Myers lemon tree to our "grove"! I'll have to keep a look out this year. We had to build a special area with high fencing for our grove due to the deer. So, I can only have so many trees .

Thanks for the idea of the garden markers...I will give that suggestion to krapoppa!

I failed to say that I have 600 spoons and NO FORKS!

Obviously I thought I needed knives when I really needed forks...

Now I am procrastinating going shopping...I do not like to shop...

Maybe someone gave them to me as a gift?
plastic knives reproduce.

I have some myself. Although not THAT many.

Maybe you can donate them to a church or food kitchen? Goodwill?

Now the spoons...at work, we go through spoons than we do forks.

But, I too, have spoons left, oodles of knives...but no forks! That's on my list...forks from Sam's.
