It hit hubby really bad yesterday afternoon. I woke up not feeling very well this morning.
So, I'm not sure how much I'll get done today? I think I'll start with folding some laundry.
I hope y'all have a great day!

Hello all. Once again life has gotten away from me. I thought things would calm down after last Sunday and I could catch my breath and get caught up back here and in house. That is just not to be. My mom called yesterday to tell me my cousins husband had died that morning. So I scrambled around last night and all this morning to make flight arrangements to go back to MI tomorrow for a Thursday funeral. I have also been trying to cancel appointments, newspapers and do laundry of things I need to pack. I will be gone until Sunday and then moving right into final plans and setting up for quilt show. New schedule is hoping by Jan 27 I will catch a few calm days.
This will be a test of my body to see if I still can handle 20 degree temps......
Sorry to hear about your loss and all your rushing around. yeah, 20 will seem quite cold to you. hope you still have a winter coat.
We all take the parts that work for us. I don't use a control journal
Yup! Nice that we can all encourage one another but don't have to do it exactly the same way.
I tried the CG and felt like I was working myself to death. It's NOT meant to be that way....but it's what happened to me.
I do parts of flylady...and things I used to read have really stuck with me.
Yesterday....I had the thought....Oh, wish we could put this stuff in a yard sale....even if I sold everything at 50cents....and had a big FREE pile. But then I heard in my head Flylady's sage advice. "Get it out of your house...even if it means throwing it away!...just get it out" FOR us that's what we needed to do.
We did throw away but we also sent a good bit to the thrifts.
and once when I had a twinge....I remembered Paula saying....Think of how you are GIVING away your things instead of being a bad steward of money spent!
Ok my memory is poor( hope I can remember and not leave anyone out from what I just read)... I have one project done and one I gotta get moving on....but....
Misti, VERY cool about your son's training!!!! It's so fun to see them make decisions like that and as parents we aren't pushing them, they are choosing a healthy lifestyle!
Christi, I hope you feel better!
Paula, Yay for Amelia!!! You know what, sometimes when I haven't gotten good sleep a lot of days in a row and then I get more sleep...I feel terrible....we need the sleep....but sometimes it feels like it backfires! There's probably a scientific reason. Hope you feel good as the day goes on....
Bleck on all the odd foods!!!
Definitely hitting the toilets this week....but might have to be postponed until late in the week....but I am getting to them!!!
I SOOOOO agree with you Kramomma on the temp thing!!!!
Suzanne, sorry for you loss and the immediacy of leaving and taking care of all the details.
Must be the day for brothers calling their sisters...mine called too...sounds like I'll be taking a trip south with him...uhm...this will be interesting...he is a get in the vehicle and drive person (think over the road trucker once-upon-a-time)...then there is me...not like him...
He's paying the bill...I'll deal with my issues...or drive him crazy!!!!

Ok, the girls are back inside for some lunch and hot cocoa. I was going to make spaghetti for supper but with the snowy weather I decided to make chicken tortilla soup instead. It is cooking in the crockpot and smelling so yummy!
DD1 still needs to finish up some school work. This snow is quite distracting! We rarely get snow here so we are just trying to enjoy it today!
I am wanting to bake now...brownies or cookies? Brownies or cookies? Hmm...
Alrighty, baby girl just woke up so I need to feed her. Then I'll eat some lunch and try to tackle the laundry!

Paula-- I don't know if these still have too much sugar for Jeff, but I saw these when I was looking at another recipe: healthy oatmeal raisinet cookies.

Thank you! I'm not 100% sure. I know I can use xylitol for the brown sugar. Not sure if he'll eat them with the molasses or not, but I will check! I'm always on the lookout for healthier snacks for the rest of us, too.

Does anyone have any ideas on a fun 16 yr old birthday?
We are kicking around ideas....like drive a couple of hours and do see some sights we have never done. A bit more expensive than we hoped. He's not SOLD on the idea.
He's pretty certain he doesn't want to camp or backpack....
I need to get the kids in bed soon and start my homework. I really need to get my Business discussion question and my Office questions done tonight. That way I can relax tomorrow and do NOTHING! I have one class from 11am-12:40 tomorrow and that's it. I want to make Wednesday be my free day if I can.

I have suggestions Jarod would like...but he's not 16! Jarod would like lazer tag, bowling, or indoor mini golf. But a drive for a couple of hours would be nice too! You could even go out to eat or go see a movie along with it.
When I turned 16 I had a party for all my friends, baked a bunch of sweets, gave them all presents, and we played Scattergories. But I was a 16 yr old girl in the 90s not a 16 yr old boy in the 2010s.

So y'all want to laugh? Jeff and I are invited to a wedding in March. BLACK TIE. Yeah...that would make it officially the fanciest event I've ever been to. Including my own wedding. And I can't wear that dress again.

Sounds like an EVENT!
I have been on the run so much...I keep forgetting to tell you...Love your new avatar!

I just told Steve a little while ago.... I HAVE NO memory of a 16th birthday. I am guessing I didn't turn 16!
I assumed because you mentioned it, that you are going. You are going?
Actually, it remains to be seen. Not surprisingly, the children are not invited so going is contingent on a babysitter as well as an appropriate outfit. The bride is not a close friend, but a longtime coworker of Jeff's. They worked together at the station in Beaumont before working together here. So about 12 years? She's very nice. We'd like to go...I think!

oh my... I am ready to call it a night but have many many miles yet to go...
Skyping with DD2 at 10:00 so have to figure out a way to stay awake and alert until then :P
I dunno that I like her being across the water... she's having some real digestive issues and I can't fix them from here. Of course, I couldn't necessarily fix them for her if she was back here at home either but it would make this momma feel a little better if I could actually see and watch what's going on
Off to get some more cards written... I'm preparing 19 little treat boxes & cards for my co-workers for Friday... my way to say goodbye to them as it will be my last day working there
