Morning! Rainy and grey today so we are staying put! Need to do some baking today, hope for some cleaning, some craft time, and some play time. and to watch Downton Abbey tonight! Jeff finished Torchwood last night and you just can't go from one to the other.
Angie, I went to bed at midnight and the kids pretty much slept. I kept dreaming about things I would normally do, take the kids to the bathroom, work on getting Amelia in her own room, etc, but a little bit weird! So sleep kind of felt like work. sorry the cats made a ruckus! Frustrating.
Ezra is a 24/7 chatterbox! I like to talk in the morning, in slow, quiet tones, after a cup of coffee.
Rainy here, too.
We watched the Christmas Downton Abbey again before watching the new one. It was great!
Paula, I am thinking of you this morning and wondering if you slept much last night. I went to bed at 11. VERY good for me.....still sleeping on the couch so I don't disturb Steve's fitful sleeping when I come to bed and that cats decided to fight over the space with me. Lil Bit is so mean to Storm and wouldn't let her have her space on the couch...so Storm ran through the living room making as much noise as possible, knocking things down etc.....it was AFTER 12 before she settled into her space on the couch with me So even though I TRIED to get to bed earlier ....it didn't help!
Melissa,
Can I PM you some questions about Mama Cat? Tiger isn't doing so well.
Question to all.....What paper trimmer do you use?
Morning to all!!!
I use a large office size twelve by twelve for cutting and just started using this one from CM for trimming. You can purchase interchangeable blades but I just wanted a straight cutter.
There are 2 chatter boxes in our house first thing of a morning & 2 night owl chatter boxes. Any morning chattering is repaid by the night owl chatter boxes at the other end of the day!
LOL!!

Ack. The pukeys are making a come back. Please now...go away again. Sheesh. I'm aiming to be done with the sick junk by 20 weeks now!! A friend told me that's how long hers lasted!! So a new goal LOL!

Woke up feeling yuck! Cruddy and sore throat. I cannot get sick! Zack is supposed to come visit here this weekend only the 2nd time ever. I'm so looking forward to that!

Moorning friends! I know an extra "o" in there, but I left it for Mollymoo!!
BIL leaves around 9-9:30. House will be quiet. I head out for a massage so that will feel nice. Need to check in on my dad. He seems to have a mild case of it, but I think mentally he may be making it worse. We'll see! Others are in the hospital with this junk going around so they must have it really bad...I hope he doesn't work himself into a hospital visit....
Off I go for some quiet time. Feeling much better today thankfully. One thing I've noticed though about us...our morning routine is very quiet, do-it-yourself. When SIL was here, she'd come out all cheery and jokey and we were all busy bustling around getting our breakfast on, etc!! And BIL is chatting away. LOL! We just aren't chatters in the morning. We're together, but not conversing much!! DH reads his bible while eating so that is a quiet time for him. Then the girls and I are just into getting breakfast into us and then getting out the door for school!!
It takes me a while to wake up in the mornings too. I have to focus.
Spend a few minutes tidying up a kitchen drawer... or two...
Most of the drawers in my kitchen look very nice due to decluttering and using some bamboo organizers. 2 however r a mess. Guess I need to declutter them and maybe get some organizers in them, also.
Me, too. Plus the old small blue cutter from creative memories for smaller things.
That cutter is going to the resale store today, I put it in the pile, I have never got that thing to trim right, maybe it's calibrated wrong, I love the sharpness of the blade but it always trims slanted off.

I was wondering if you wouldn't have soooo been missing that little guy while you were on ski vacation
I have the tonic 6x12 guillotine trimmer. I think tonic is the same thing SU sells. It's pretty good! I got the 6x12 for the smaller footprint and I got it fr amazon.

BIL is gone. Think I'll head in and see my dad before my massage, so after I can come right home! And relax in the quietness!!

I did get to see him when we got to town cause they were watching our dog for us. Hes such a cutie. He's starting to eat solid foods. He loves butternut squash. When I was there it was time to try pears. When he tasted it he got this sad look on his face and started to cry. but then he tasted it again and ate it all. Ddil is making him his food in the Brezza that I bought for her. She is buying organic for him.
Last night DH put his hand on my shoulder to say good night and I winced. I was sooo sore. Thought it was from the treatment and PT which does cause that but yesterday and today I have been snottin' around, hacking up yuck, and no energy. Maybe it's the stickies going around that everyone else has had, no fever though and doesn't feel like a regular cold. Maybe cleansing the lymphatic s from all the deep muscle work.
I went to bed at ten and slept straight through til almost eight. I couldn't believe it. And I still feel tired this morning.
Got my sauna in, showered, dressed, hair brushed but not put up, just Tim hortons latte for breakfast as food does not sound appealing. I need a TDD
Put sheets in washer
Clean a drawers in the kitchen
Wash the kitchen floor
It's a beautiful ,no wind, sunshine day, even if the temp is only eighteen. We had a bit of hoar frost and it made everything pretty, most of it is gone now but our little bird feeds pole in the back looks so cute. POD it's going to become.
I just can't capture it, but will post it for you anyway. I did try to get it with my camera too, besides the ipad . Sme of the pine tree branches in the front yard still have their frosty look, it's so pretty. You can see a little bit the white outline around him. Well, it's making me smile anyway.
Last evening going to my treatment they were logging pines beside the road and I opened my window to let in the fragrance. It was so refreshing. I enjoyed that.

Oh, that was a nice gift. I'm glad she is feeding him like that. Cute on the pears, maybe he didnt like the texture. Reminds me of our Sarah. Aren't they cute when they stick that lip out, sweet little ones

Now to get at that TDD
I love the smell of pines. We have a row of them just down from our house and when I go for my walks I can breathe in their scent!! So refreshing, esp. when I'm coming back from a long walk!

OK. Must drag my feet and get out of the house. Just feel so out of sync and icky feeling again. Hoping the massage will liven things up a bit and make me feel better. Don't like this draggy feeling.

Awful cat fighting sound going on underneath the house.....
Went to look....Tiger is trying to walk across the road. I hollered at him and he came back! Our road isn't busy but cars/trucks go 50 on it....old man doesn't need to be crossing it.
Looked at Crawl space and couldn't see the door open
more cat yowling....
found the door IS open.....
Can't do anything about it...I am not going under there.
Feel like a jumping bean though....have to go to back door every few minutes and make sure no one else is eating Tiger's food. He still hasn't eaten today.
This is long if you care to read it. Our son just sent me this email. He is seeking an international position with a company. His wife teaches French. This made me smile, and get tears in my eyes at the same time.
nice!
I wrote my "essay" to include with Kirstin's application to the international job fair in Feb, just last night. I really feel we'll get an opportunity from that. We'll see how it all works out. Some places won't take a non-working spouse so it's for singles or newly married young couples that both teach. BUT...if you can show you can financially support yourself on a single salary, they will usually allow it. Hmm...less than 1 year to pay off the house and no debt puts us in the right situation for sure.
So when I wrote the essay last night (single page is all you can write) I had to think about why I would be a good candidate for this (that was their essay requirement). I started thinking about all of the travel we did when we were young and how we were taught to keep an open mind and to question things or explore. I thought about you, embracing the Hmongs because you liked to go shopping in their little stores for...Asian stuff and good rice. I don't think there would be a lot of people that would have any good thoughts or comfort in going to an Asian store after being in a war. (think Gran Torino movie). I included some comments about open minds and how travel and experiences in a different culture (even in the US) definitely makes one appreciate the differences and diversity.
Mom, I thought about you taking us to all of those "crazy" people for treatments, acupuncture, massage, etc. Talk about an open mind. And how about all the different food we ate, Mexican, Asian, American, Italian, and whatever we ate when we travelled. I thought about how when I travelled it is mostly about the food. I take pictures of and bring back food, not souvenirs! I wrote about how food can be the gateway to a cultural experience. I mentioned how I like to learn the words for food in the language of the place I'm visiting, so I know how/what to order or buy in the future. That is a gateway to learning a language. I said, and am truthful, that I would attempt to learn the language of where I am first because of the food, second so I can be useful wherever I am.
I'm sure that you, as parents, laid a great foundation for this to happen. Now, we'll just see if it's supposed to be our lot.
me
How wonderful! did you tear up? I would have.
PS I also sign emails to my mom "me"

Clean one cupboard and wipe down the shelves (Mini Mission!)
oh heaven knows my kitchen needs this! I was putting dishes away the other day and thought "this cupboard is a mess (at least 2 diff cupboards) but had to keep myself from getting sidetracked.
I am only working a 1/2 day today (have my fav annual appt this afternoon ) so will add it to my list.
I did my 15 min of FLYing yesterday helping my daughter clean up the mess under, next too and behind her dresser. oy vey! Also decluttered top of dresser and wiped it off. The only thing on it now is her new jewelry box, Hello Kitty bank and a bucket of little stuff we have to find places for (random game pieces, etc). Her new radio/CD player/tape player will go on there but THAT'S IT! (Do as I say, not as I do.... )

I hate it when sleep feels like work! I have those nights now and then.
Bit is back without a mark on her....She really yowls at intruders! Now what I wonder, was it Donny from next door (sister to Marie....yes my neighbor went there) or was it Mystery cat. Have to keep a careful eye and make sure no one beats up on Tige's!
TDD only got two things accomplished. I just felt all tuckered out. I did clean out two cupboard shelves. Even did the finish up work of throwing the recyclables out in the garage bin instead of leaving them sit there waiting at the bus stop. Lol
I was able to declutter some coffee filters, a tea strainer, a couple of old vinegar bottles, some old old old decaf coffee. Put the olive oil from the big bottle into a clean smaller one that was taking up,space. It looks a lot better. I will try to tackle another one after lunch. I'm thinking I better get some food in me and then I will have more energy
Thawing some hamburger for supper, maybe spaghetti and meat sauce.
I need to do my PT stretches sometime today too and take pics and write cards out for three of them.

Angie - there's another possibility! Tiger has already eat...scraps or caught a mouse!
He just doesn't seem like himself. Not very energetic. He always devours his food in the morning. This morning he just got up and looked at it and left.
