Got my dad's fridge cleaned out and his pill set to go. Tomorrow will be a long day. Need to be up there to get him at 10. Lots of papers to sign etc I'm sure. Then getting him settled in back at his apartment. Lunch there. Then home health comes at 2 for his interview. But that will give me time to run out to Walmart and get his new meds.
Silly girl is kicking all the water our her baby bath tub. I've always used our nice bathroom sink for her baths but tonight I decided to try her in the baby tub ...she's liking the extra kicking room!!!
Joyce - so sorry you're doctors couldn't even bother to call you adn taht you've had so many issues with the hospital and new doctors and such. I wish we were closer. I'd for sure give you a hug but all I can do is send cyber (((HUGS))).
Rebekah - Sorry you have had such a struggle with your dad. Hope things work out well for both of you. As far as getting lots done - sometimes I think we just have spurts of things really getting done while we have sags where things don't get done so much. Maybe you're in a spurt.
Angie - How cool that people are being good to each other. I know I've seen where people were going down the roads with food and water for stranded motorists. Also people going by and picking up stranded motorists and taking them home. Sometimes things like this will bring out the best of people. Which it didn't take something so catastrophic to do that.
Morning! Sure am sluggish today...part of it is me dreading today's happenings. Just really nervous about it all. And the other part is not having a good night's sleep as per usual!!! Sure hope the sun comes out today!!!
Dh didn't get home until 3:30 a.m . So a hard night of sleep here. It at least the dog let me sleep until 8:45.
Today is gonna be busy. Cleaning house, getting guest room ready for kiddos, getting craft room ready for Zack, shopping for super bowl party food.......
Anyone else doing fun stuff for super bowl? We are just having family over, the kids, dfil, my sis and her hubby. We've decided to do heavy snacks instead of a meal.
Our menu includes: hot wings, baked Potato skins,
crab dip and pink dip with assorted chips n crackers,
pulled pork sliders with balsamic mustard BBQ sauce and coleslaw,
Asian rice paper egg rolls and panko breaded fried shrimp with Asian dipping sauce.
And a desert that ddil is making that has graham crackers homemade caramel and pecans. Sound yummy. And possibly Texas sheet cake.
So I'm sitting in my dining room bay window looking out at my front garden and view. And I realize that I should have protected my cactus from the freeze. I'm afraid I may have to cut them way back. They were so big and beautiful. alas.
On the bright side we already have a ton of bluebonnet leaves which means we will have and abundance of flowers in the spring. We started with about 5 blue bonnets in the garden but they have spread over the 3 years we have been here and now over half the garden is covered with them.
Sounds yummy, Cher! We aren't doing anything. I'm sure if we're home it will be on, but we're not super invested in the game this year. And most of the awesome snack food floating around pinterest right now would put Jeff in a coma.

I just broke a tooth! I can NOT believe this year so far! I'm off to the dentist at 3:30. It's giving me a headache and tastes funny in my mouth so going to take some pain meds and try to tidy up a bit.
Yep.....big ole group hugs all the way 'round this morning!!!!
Snowstorm is mostly affecting pretty far N of us...but enough to have us come home last night so we wouldn't have to fight it and the traffic today. It was a super long and exhausting day and night....but we got home just after midnight and it's wonderful to have an extra day at home instead of in the icky, icky city!
Planning the menu for Superbowl with Cody today....we want to make it a snacky day too Cher.
Today's wedding invite plan to is to get all 50 bases cut and folded and the white embossed layer cut and ready for embossing. James and the kids will be doing that since it appears I got a dud of an ebosser and may need to return it. Murphy's Law of course.
It's beautifully cold and very lightly snowing....so perfect day!
I looked at both the Vagabond and Ebosser....I decided on the Ebosser since I have the Grand Nesties. But you know.....Murphy's Law and all. If we can't get it working I'll send it back and get the Vagabond. Boy was it sure nice the TWO times I used it though!!! I'm telling you....hand cranking stuff to cut and emboss now really makes the RA pain flare! So I will be figuring this out and meantime have to get the kids to help or just grin and bear it!
Whew. I. am. home. Long day. Stil really nervous about stuff. My dad is really tired and had no voice all afternoon. Then while we are doing his home health interview, one of his nosy neighbor ladies comes barging in and starts talking to him. I was in nursing Phebe in the other room so I promptly came out and tried to politely shoo her off. Goodness but she is one annoying lady. She didn't see the nurse b/c she was sitting off to the side, but still...once she did and I told her, she still didn't move too quickly to leave. Sheesh.
DH won't be home until later. So time to get dinner on for kids and I. Homemade Panera style mac and cheese!
