OMW!

Dale just filled up his tank @ the shop...last week or week before...which reminds me, I have a bill for my shop to pay, as I got some gas also...I didn't fill my tank up tho. whoo. The cost for Dale's shop...it was not much under that...expensive stuff...it HAS went up since we filled up first of November...November was a nice price. January was expensive...and yours is wowza! whoo.

I"m assuming you have the same size "typical" tank we have.

ETA - your $571 is what his shop bill was in November.

Oh Angie. Not a nice surprise. At. All. Sorry on the grocery trip, too. I went last night and everyone and their cat was there. And apparently waffles and Greek yogurt are hot commodities for the snowpocalypse.

School is cancelled here, too. Jeff took the van to work. I stopped short of begging him to come home before the weather gets bad, but we'll see. I do think if he absolutely got stuck over there that the station would get him a hotel room so that's not so bad.

The wind blew the sheets off a couple of my plants last night. I need to take care of that before it gets worse.

Just to put it in perspective....for an entire YEAR we usually spend a little over 800.00!!!!

****
I am off to see if the county residents have left any bread on the shelves! Not to be a cliche BUT.....I am out of bread and the kids & Steve go through a gallon of milk in a couple of days. (the plan was to go last night when E went to ballet but since she injured her foot we didn't go) Can't send the kids back to school without sandwiches so.....I am headed out to get a few things. Snow flurries are supposed to begin anytime now but the sky looks like it wants to hold onto the snow. Will be interesting to see if we get what they say we are supposed to.

Ya know...I actually forgot to write Greek yogurt on my grocery list...I want to try it. And, of course, if it's not on the list, I don't buy it.

You need eggs?

I'd like a roll...cinnamon please...

Harp student arrives at 10...

I really should get s&d...starting my day hasn't gotten very far...

No grocery shopping in my current future...we could use eggs but we buy those from a neighbor 7 miles away!

Milk we buy from the dairy 2 miles away (opposite direction from eggs)...

I bake my own bread...wheat berries don't even need to be ground currently!

Freezer is full of beef (I'm not a meat lover but the rest of my family is) and chicken...

Fruit is in canning cupboard...or if I need clementines or apples someone will stop for me.

Veggies are in freezer as well...

I feel very prepared for the weather that was...it's suppose to get warmer here tomorrow!

Okay, plants are covered. I think I'm going to shower, start a fire, room rescue the kitchen, and then mess it up making banana bread.

Weighing in on the propane bills...I went digging for some answers!

2/6/13 150 gallons @ $1.52...$228.00 pay within 5 days $213.00
11/23/13 150 gallons @ $1.79...$268.50 pay within 5 days $253.50
1/8/14 174 gallons @ $2.09...$363.66 pay within 5 days $346.26

Plus...tank rent in June $83.36 (we have paid tank rent since we remolded our house, made it more energy efficient and purchase less propane! ) Each year the tank rental price goes up...been 14 years we've been "renting" with no rent-to-own option!

Our house is about 3600 square feet total...we keep our heat about 65...at night it goes down to 59-60...

If I am cold (which is often the last 6 weeks) I sit in my brown chair with an electric heating pad on my back...warms me enough to get me going again...

What are you paying per gallon for your propane?

Car gasoline is another issue...the others try to fill when they are in the metro before coming home...our gas is always more per gallon out here!

The gal at the doc office said they are paying. 5.00 per gallon. She is the only one I heard anything from. We have natural gas so don't know about the propane pricing. $5.00

Wow to all you Southeners. Eeep. yep, tomorrow it's suppose to warm up to be in the low 20s! That will feel like a heat wave my friends! And I aim to be out in it. Will go see my dad and then I really, really want to sneak (well, no, not sneak but you know what I mean) over to the city and get to Joann's and get more felt while it's on sale 1/2 off. B/c the rest of the week looks snowy again.

But I also have to see what's up with my dad getting home too. So will see how long that all takes.

Someone just asked...is anyone else cold? I said no...and the other person said no...

She was told to go put on another layer...no, we are not turning up the thermostat!

She's bummed...

That and electricity...irks me when lights are on and no one is using the benefit of the light! I don't need to turn on a light to walk THROUGH a room...

Well...maybe I did years ago before I learned to keep my floors cleaner!

I think Phebe was up every hour last night. Yikes!!! She gets major gassy/fussy with teething. Thank goodness for gripe water...it works immediately. Seriously. I don't know how it works but it does. Whew. I just hate giving her a ton of it but..... I gave it to her the night before last and then again this morning after major fussies and she just immediately lays her little head on my shoulder and goes. to. sleep.

Our last propane bill was $2.55 per gallon. Hmmm it seems though that they only charged us $2.40. $444.00 instead of $471.75. Maybe we get a discount for paying right away?

We keep our thermostat between 66 and 68 during the day. 61 at night. I could probably drop that a couple of degrees and just layer up. of course winter fees are not that bad here. It's summer time air conditioning that gets expensive!

Whew! DD2 is a bit more intense today with a 2nd snow day in a row after the weekend. So I had to help her with something in the midst of my TDD. Got her settled again so all is well!!

We usually have 4 high cooling bills during the summer months.... 2) 200.00 elect bills in the summer, 2) 250.00 electric bills and the rest of the year about 100. or so on elect plus spend slightly more than 800.00 on propane for the year.

Kramomma---that is really a low price on your propane!!! Ours was 3 something, not sure what this last one was....I would have to do the math....Steve said a guy at work told him we had it good at 3 because in PA it was 5.

Still haven't done anything in the kitchen, but I did pick up in the living room, vacuum, and paid bills. Now, we're making hot chocolate. Then I'll tidy and bake. Then I hope to just plop myself in front of the fire and knit.

Oh goodness!!!! Just saw a fb post from a friend. Already wrecks in town. A car flipped and traffic is backed up! Glad I am home!!! The interstate should be fine for Steve when he drives it in an hour or so. So long as no one is too stupid out there! I always worry just a tiny bit, he is in that tiny Toyota Yaris!!!

Going to say "enough" and COMPLETE on a task in the stamp room...

An older lady friend of an older lady friend of mine found out I make cards for the older lady for a buck...well...I'm getting orders every week for 10 cards from older lady friends of my older lady friend...

I am not getting 10 done this week...the older lady will be getting 9...the last one is very whimpy...I'll give her $2 back...my brain if fried...

Might sound like the easy way out but making Sympathy cards for people I don't know is not an easy task for me...and making them with no brads is even more difficult for me!

Electric bill under $225 doesn't happen here...18 years ago we thought $100 was high...

There are some things you can't fight...fixed prices are fixed prices...

Besides...the computer needs electricity as does the cell phone...and the electric heater...and the light above the stamp table...

Time to eat something because my body needs some fuel...think I'll eat some raisins and see who makes a comment about that!
