I need a list. Since we are predicted for ICE...that's a three letter DIRTY WORD for us. OK? I probably should make sure I have a hard copy.

Morning! Cold here! Not as cold as the rest of you, but pretty cold for us!

Friday list:
Challah
Run dishwasher
Put away clothes, do another load of laundry
Go to bank?
Go to bookstore?
Go to Target? - another Target, Hanukkah stuff is 70% off and there's something I'm looking for
Cook chicken - I want to make a chicken chili, but I'm afraid the kids won't eat it
If the sun comes out, bundle up and go outside
Pay bills
Pick an Art Lab lesson and do it
Get Archer
Rainbow loom bracelets with Archer when we get home
Put trash and recycling out
Sew elastic so I can make a tutu

Giggling at the purple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a coupon to use so Elisa and I went shopping last night. ROWS of leather jackets for 25.00!!!! I guess mother nature fooled the buyers this year. We had just the one cold spell (and it was cold) but people probably didn't run out and buy coats because it didn't last long and now with 70's we sure don't need coats. It is supposed to drop to 50 though and that feels pretty chilly after humid 70's!

Yeah, you know I was A. tired of shopping, B. tired of looking for a coat & C. tired of shopping for a coat to even consider buying a purple coat!

They had leather jackets for men for $25 so I bought one for Kevin.

Round #2 of snow supposed to be through about 10 am, but we won't get above freezing until next Thursday!!!

Today's Mini Mission:

Dust the baseboards in the dining room.

I noticed last night, that someone forgot to clean the baseboards in several of the rooms before we moved in.

well we've got COLD... although it's only -13F, with the wind it's feeling like -26F I'm thankful for cars with heaters that work!!

picked up the 'new to me' car last night - DD2 drove it home - can't wait to get the winter tires on it because the all-seasons just aren't going to work very well with the snow we have... I'm praying it won't take too long for them to arrive. Ordered them from Costco.

stay warm... stay safe... stay healthy....

Good morning y'all!

Well we didn't get the rain and sleet they called for. Yay. It is cold and windy though! I'll have to really bundle up to walk the dogs! The grass dh seeded is growing. He planted winter rye. He spent over $1000.00 on dirt and seed to make a yard for me. (I had said make me a yard but then I knew I would get razzed ) . I wanted grass around the back and front of the house so that when the dogs get muddy out in the fields they will get cleaned off a bit by the grass. Hope it works but for now I have to walk them to keep them out of the seeded area.

So I was wrong it did rain last night. And the wild grasses were frozen and now thawing and my tennis shoes got soaked so now my feet are cold! Note to self, wear boots next time.

I was all bundled up. Long johns, jeans, high socks and shoes, a shirt, a sweatshirt with hood, a scarf , coat and gloves. I was warm except for my feet. Neighbors probably thought I was a crazy woman.

So this was yesterday. Now it's today because as you can see i didn't accomplish much. I did however pay bill and deal with all that finance stuff. And then, dh took me out for dinner cause we were both craving chicken Fried steak. we met dfil and he treated us since we did thanksgiving.

Yesterday I also changed my sheets and put our winter bedding on. A feather bed and heavy duty quilt comforter. So I wasn't a total bum.

I'm heading back to my shop with a hot chocolate. There's already icicles on my cedar fence! I hope I don't go sliding back down the hill. Gonna be hard to pack an umbrella, a cup of hot chocolate and a walking stick. Oh heck! If I need a walking stick, I don't need an umbrella. Umbrella can be the walking stick.

Cher, how awful to go thru that. Thankfully the investment company insured it. My husbands Mac card was stolen, the bank caught it and called and asked if my husband was abroad. They immediately suspended the card and issued a new one and covered the charges. I bet you looked warm Cher.

Angie, that's a great sale,what store? I need a short everyday coat.

It's getting colder here, but still not snowing. I think the ground is to wet for it to stick anyway. But I like my seasons, even the one with snow.

Melissa, I just made a cup of tea, but you made me want hot chocolate. Be careful if its icy

Tricia, thinking happy thoughts for all your tests!

We had out get visit this morning. Poor Jaec is not a happy camper this afternoon. He had shots in both shoulders. He whimpers if you touch them. She said he would sleep a lot over the next two days. He also has ear meds, she removed some of the ear hair and cleaned them good. And he needs an antibiotic for a bacteria, which she said is normal for puppies. Otherwise is a happy little 3.8 pound little man.

We bought a child's play area for him for when we have to leave him alone. It was cheaper to buy an actual 18 square foot child's play area then it was to but a smaller pet one.

He doesn't like his first t-shirt.

So far today I did my kitchen routine.
Load a day
Vet
Napped
Having afternoon tea.

The boss said...if you will hurry up and get back, you can train the new guy, who is as green as a gourd.

Right. I think she's tired of trooping up & down the stairs. He's down the hall from my office. And I have not met him yet.

That's the kind I liked to train. I could train them the way I wanted. I absolutely LOVED (heavy sarcasm) those who thought they knew it all!

3rd batch of pie filling in the water bather...enough syrup to make several more jars but I don't want to peel anymore apples today! Time to be finished because I met my goal...

Will clean kitchen and see about finding my stamp table...there's lots of stuff piled on it that isn't where the stuff belongs...I plan to be ready by 6 PM CT for VSN...

Greetings, all! I'm recovering from the last few days today. Recovery = sleeping until 7:30, crying, eating breakfast and drinking coffee, crying, looking into space, putting ice on my shoulder, then repeating most of the above. The crying is more out of messed up blood sugar and pain than being emotional over Mom, I'm afraid. Things with Mom are starting to fall into a pattern, so that's marvelous!!! They brought in a nice hospital bed and put Mom into it to stay, which is relieving both Dad and Mom, so she is sleeping through the night instead of up every hour, and is coherant rather than confused, because her body isn't under so much stress. The hospice people are WONDERFUL and seem to love both Mom and Dad and my older sister, Mom's favorite daughter, has been able to be there for the past three days while she has transitioned to being bed-ridden. I am SO thankful the Lord worked that out. Her being able to be here for extra days is SO rare and I know it has made things easier for both Mom and Dad - and me too!!!

Anyway, I need to actually go do something around the house right now that I'm fairly stable again, so I think I'll go find my 5 minute timer and start through my list.

I hope everyone is doing well!!!!

No more therapy. We are all healed as far as can go for now. The rest is up to Mr. T's body. He is doing very well, full time back at work, but i do see a weariness in him about 7 p.m. that was never there before. This is normal and will go away by six months they tell us.
