It looks like a Walt to me. SO cute! You too, lady! So happy you found a furry friend!
Ezra likes Cookie. That was his other choice for us. Archer liked Zorro.

To Joyce and Tricia, I am so sorry to read of the difficulties. (((hugs)))

Joyce a very good friend of mine has a dog like yours and his name is Pooh Bear.

Took a trip to the PO and then had to come home again and back again...forgot the address at home! Grrrr.

Hope everyone's week is going smoothly.

It's still snowing here...and looks beautiful from the inside of my house! The roads are not so...music students mother canceled lessons...

Next up...applesauce into pints...

Then...maybe I could dream of eating the crack-mac...

Paula and Misti thanks! I love those names, tell your little ones they were helpful, it's such a hard decision. Frosty is cute as well. Someone suggested Killer to Ashlyn which made us all lol.

Crack Mac n cheese sounds yummy. What's the secret recipe? I love Mac n cheese!

Angie, that sounds like something I would do. Bummer on the two trips.

My cards are done for VSN, ended up with 3.

Kra - sounds like your house will still smell good withall the cooking and baking you seem to do so often. Love it.

Joyce - how cute it that little bit of fur!?! Got no suggestions for a name but he sure looks like a happy little fellow.

Back from Mom's for now. Dad had her up when I got there and walking... She did ok while the nurse was there -- almost seemed normal. But within an hour of the nurse leaving she had sunk into a deep sleep while my sister curled her hair. We tried to wake her to have her walk into the other room where she could sleep more comfortably and it was last night all over again. We left her sleeping and unresponsive even when I put Vaseline on her lips. My other sister is coming in this afternoon, so hopefully she'll rally again after a number of hours of sleep and be able to talk to her some. Dad is intent on keeping to the routine, feeding her, having her walk to the table and back to her chair, etc. He's pretty sure she is fine... but even the nurse thought that this morning, except that she'd seen her chart from last night. I don't know if I should tell my brother to fly in from out east, or if she'll be fine until Christmas... SIGH. I think I'll call my cousin who's a nurse and talk to her some. Her mom (my Mom's sister) passed away just a year and a half ago, or so, and maybe she'd be able to walk me through it and let me know what exactly I'm seeing...

Thanks for listening and praying everyone. I just need someone to throw thoughts at!

Lots and Lots and Lots of hugs, Tricia. I've been there with my Grandfather and my grandmother just over a year ago. The only advice I can give is: make time for yourself emotionally, and if you need to talk, we are all here.

Today's question does not have anything to add to it.

10 tests + 2 assignments - 2 tests done today = 8 tests and two assignments left!

If you would share with your cousin the statistics from last night she might be able to help you even more! When I shared MIL's with her daughter she was not at all surprised when I called at 3 AM to tell her that her mother had died...I thought I was prepared...but I wasn't... ...even after 20 years of her having Alzheimer's...there isn't anything that can prepare you for the moment when they take their last breath...

Keep talking...

We'll keep listening...it's been 18 months...but it still is very real as if just this morning...

My mom died 10 1/2 months ago...the dying process is difficult to understand...and yet so is life!

You are such a diligent student...and I'm glad to see your grades show it...some students are diligent but their grades don't show it...and that is sad...

A classmate and I were talking about just that the other day. We both agreed that scholarships should be given out based on your diligence rather than your grades. Some people do not have to put any work into getting great grades, whereas others give it their all and come out with mediocre grades. That's not fair. The teachers know which students are working hard and which ones are not...and they decided who gets the scholarships most of the time.

Slow moving traffic...didn't get over 40 miles per hour during the entire 45 mile trip home...took 90 minutes...

Glad my hubby is home for the evening...

Tricia - as others have already said, please feel free to discuss your thoughts and concerns with us. We're here for you, period. We may not have all gone through what you're going through but we still are here to listen when you need to talk. The one thing I would say, if you mom is able, my dad has said many times in the last year or so how he wished he'd talked more with his dad and learned more about his family or the memories of his father. (OK so that was a run-on LOL) But let her talk as much as she feels like and let your dad keep as much structure as he feels he can - that maya be what is keeping him together as well.

Love and hugs and prayers to you and your family

Thanks Donna. We did talk with Mom a lot right after her stroke a year and a half ago and tried to get some of those memories down on paper. At this point she can't remember or complete most sentences so I am thankful that we did that when we did. My most special memory comes from her trying to remember who I was after her stroke. She couldn't think of my name but said I was the one that always encouraged. Of course not long ago at her house she introduced me to her visitors as "She's always here." sort of like she wished I'd get a life and go away! LOL!!

Hmmm...wonder what was posted in the original?

For me it was a day of apples...and today will be the same.

My Thursday list

Today's plans are

1. Work on my Christmas cards - finally decided on the design so I need to get them going.

Divided into smaller steps
a. determine sizes of cuts per card stock and cut the card stock
c. decide how many to make
d. stamp the images
e. put it all together

2. Work on a scarf for dd1 - this will be an ongoing thing until I finish working on it a bit every day

3. I also have some cards I'm making for gifts to work on as well - I have them all stamped and colored so I just need to cut the card stock, adhere them together and embellish them. - I have 48 of them to make but they will go pretty quickly since I don't have to do much to them at this point.

Divided into smaller steps
a. determine sizes of cuts per card stock and cut the card stock
c. put it all together

4. Make a couple of phone calls.

5. Go to chriopractor appt (please God let it work well today, I am hurting from the leaf raking, etc yesterday)

6. Possibly go to library to return a book or renew and check out another book. I still have a few pages left to read in this one so we'll see if I get it done.

I believe that is it. Hope you all have a great Thursday. Chat with you all later.
