Btw, Gilbert was one of my favorite names for a very long time because how can you not fall in love with Gilbert Blythe from the Anne series?! And that is where the Blythe comes from in my email address. Lifelong Anne fan.

Paula, would you post the recipe you used. Curious if we can add protein to it.

Janeen, that's such a relief! But scary I'm sure.

Tricia, so cute!

Dinner for us was salad and lasagna. It was yummy.

blech. lost my post

I'm wondering if the car dude will show up tonight.
DD1 is making cookies tonight. Two batches of the same type - one will be GF
DD2 is having coffee with a friend she hasn't seen for a few years. She's got a nervous stomach today - I suspect (hope) it's just 1st day college apprehension.
and as for me.. well, I'm starting the process of moving files across the network from my office computer to the one DH was using. Then mine will get cleaned up and available for watching movies, etc in the family room. While I wait I need to get my VSN write up done and a couple of samples ready.. oh. and practice piano for another wedding that's about 10 days away

Janeen, so glad hubby is ok!

Zacks appt went well. Learned a bit about baby nutrition. Loved his doc!shots were sad but over quickly.

Dinner ended up being baked potatoes and broccoli. Quick and easy since we didn't get home until 6.

Working on my Christmas cards again. 18 taped down 7 more to go. It would go quicker if I wouldn't keep changing my designs. But now the time to do it before taping!

I honestly think those shots are harder on the parents (and grandparents ) then they are on the little ones.

Six quarts of pears are out of the canner with none broken! Yeah...It does make me sad when one breaks...think what I did yesterday was knock the hot jar on the oven above the stove...got a tad close tonight but obviously not too close...

Still need to clean the kitchen...then hopefully bed...

Would like Red Bear to take a picture of my August card before he goes to bed...but he isn't home at the moment...so can't ask him!

Holy Crap I cant' seem to catch up with everyone adn all that's gone on in the last few days. I started out being behind to page 49. I've spend a bit of time today reading and have only gotten to page 55 which is only less than 3 days worth so I'm just going to start with that and work on it some more tomorrow. As it stands we are at page 63 so I still have 8 pages and 1.5 days - OMG!

So here goes

Aug 22 -

Paula - I'm glad that you could accept your father being more involved with younger siblings (it is also a nice thing to hear that he grew and learned something from his previous marriage to your mom instead of repeating the same old mistakes). I also love the idea of reading Psalms and your reasoning for chosing that book.

Joyce - I did not make it to a Hancocks on the way to the beach or back. I am planning to make it to at least 1 tomorrow though. If I dont' find one then I may just wait until Black Friday adn use the 50% off along with any other discount Mikes like to put out for then.

Suzanne - How was the house you looked at? I saw where you later said that you didn't like the furnishings but remember that you can always sale them and redecorate with things that are your taste...it might even pay for the redo or at least part of it.

Patricia- About the music - I believe we are visited in different ways by those who have passed. Ever since DGS2 passed away we see butterflies even when you wouldn't expect to see them. We believe it is his way of saying hello and that he is thinking of us or are with us.

Tricia - Proverbs - that is a cool idea - with 31 chapters - easy peasy in keeping up with where you are.

Janeen - No ATG but I'll find one at some point. Also your 7 days poem for Mr G was so sweet. Speaking of Mr G, so glad he's feeling better.

Cher - The house sounds great - I have to say if I were to ever redo our house I would have a master suite that would be a parent's haven, large enough for a king bed and a sitting area for reading or just chilling. It would also have a decent master bath with a walk-in closet between the bathroom and bedroom. I agree with some of the others about using one of the upper bedrooms until Zack gets a bit older.

Janeen - Yeah for sleep!!!

Edith - boo to dentist

Paula - boo to oral surgeon - wow about the size of the school - With 200 new kids this year I wonder if there were that many kids born in your area that year or are there a huge number of people moving into the area.

Misti - Love the bow story and how the boys were kind not to make the man feel foolish. Have to say people like that sometimes makes me frustrated though and deserve what they get. When Kevin comes to SC it will probably be in the low 80's.

Kra - Hope you had a good sleep night and that you've gotten your sewing done.

Lee - Glad DD got home safe and sound even if she did have to sit in the driveway for a while.

Paula - Yuck for the doctor

Joyce - on gun. Great video (love yoru room and know some of us have little green monsters running around in ours after seeing yours) I have a Guitine cutter - I got it an office supply company, Staples I think, for about $30. I can cut several sheets of paper at one time too. LOVE mine - we call it the ca-ching (kinda the sound it makes when we use it). LOL

Patricia - hope you had fun at Codry Pond - glad you decided to go

Tricia - Happy Belated Birthday - love dh's gift

Edith - good luck on Sept 11 and your tooth issues

Lee - Love the "InLoves" I may have to borrow that, if you don't mind.

Kra - yeah for naps - one almost always feels better after one of those.

Edith - I hope your mouth feels better each day.

So I will save Aug 26 until I finish reading that date's posts.

Tomorrow will be a bit of a busy day - We (dd1 & girlies and me) will be leaving town around 8:30 to drive 2+ hours away to meet with ds & fiance ref the wedding invitations. I've printed her main picture (a picture of their boots sitting side by side with her ring in the middle resting on the soles of the boots) and some other things for them to look at. One the way there we'll stop for breakfast. On the way home we'll stop at another Hancocks and an office supply store to get them to make copies of the backer part of the invitations.

The plan for them is to have a velum overlay with the printed information on it with the picture on the bottom of the back part, they will be held together with twine at the top and possibly one of the fake wedding bands tied in the twine.

I know it sounds weird to use twine but the whole thing is going to be an outside/western/bibbed overalls kind of affair.

Hope everyone has a nice restful night and I'll chat with you more tomorrow.

My cousin and his fiance are using the shabby chic cowboy look, too. (That's not what it's called, but I can't remember what it is now. All Mason jars, burlap, wagon wheels, white lights, and cowboy boots. Some of us had to plan our weddings before Pinterest.)

Thanks for the encouragement with it. I don't think I'd mind if it were just the things you mentioned but it's sitting on hay bails and bibbed overalls (all the male parts of the wedding party) and the flower girls, who are 2 and 4 and not around horses at all, walking a pony in (thank God it's outside in case she does something on the way) and so many other things that have made me say "um". And I guess the fact that he's inviting my entire ex's family (not ds's family, just my ex's family and yes the one who just died and the family that has basically had nothing to do with him over the last 20 years) . It's going to be a F U N day for some of us. LOL

But thank you again for helping me to be more encouraged about it all. AND BTW I do know it is his wedding and I'm accepting all that they are doing as such.

Sorry for the unload and whine of the previous post. I'll get myself back in check.

So I'm up since 6:10 and getting some final things together to take up the mountain today. Hope you all have a wonderfully blessed Thursday in whatever way it needs to be blessed.

Chat with you all later.

Yup, I to had to plan my wedding before Pinterest. Really didnt have a theme, wedding was the theme. Balloons and candles decorated the tables. I made the candle holders. Napkins were printed. Matches were printed for by each candle holder. Sit down family style dinner. DJ, because in our area bands just don't happen. And we paid for everything ourselves with the exception of my dress ( which was 500$) off the rack kind if purchase. And his dad gave some money towards the bar bill. The amout of monetary gifts did not cover the cost of the wedding. And people showed up in blue jeans. To this day am not happy about that.

But then last week at my uncles funeral people showed in shorts and sandles. Was less then thrilled with that as well.

But, we managed 23 years as if today. Learning and growing. Built our first home 10 years married and our second 16 years married. With hopes of building one more, one story that will be where we grow old comfortably.

We have been very blessed. Never been bailed out by anyone, pay our bills on time, use credit cards minimally, pay for things with cash or make do with what we have. Never go to bed mad, never walk away when we are mad, and always kiss good night, we don't yell or scream, sometimes disagree and respect that and if not together are the last ones to talk to before sleeping.

Today
Kitchen routine
Garden routine
Laundry load a day
Mini mission?

imthenoni...you're still the mom...I understand...and you have a solution to your problem so you gave information, got it out of your head and you can deal with it! My children have some interesting ideas of life also but I will say that their beliefs and standards are because of convictions of their understanding of scripture...my desire for them is to be a benefit to society and not a drain...so far they are a benefit to many...

Another humid morning...FOGGY...my fishbowl has moisture on the outside! 100% humidity at 72* and dewpoint is 72* Everything is WET and it isn't raining!!!!

Tomatoes will be made into spaghetti sauce this morning. Red Bear goes to the orchard to spot pick apples this morning...

Ashjoy I was going to post Happy Anniversary before you got on...but...alas you are posting before I got mine finished...

I can't say that "we" paid for our wedding...krapoppa paid for our wedding...it was simple but many friends of mine helped make it beautiful and it went by WAY TOO FAST...

Pink Snuggles wants to have an outdoor wedding at our neighbors and have a pot-blessing for the reception! At least she changed her original idea which was for a wedding on Dec. 31 on dog sleds! I keep telling her...you aren't 28 yet...thankfully...and no suitor has come seeking you...

If I had to do it again...I would have an immediate family wedding (parents/siblings) and a large reception/open house type party. BUT...I would not choose a different spouse!!!!

The "in-loves" comes from his parents being in-love with him before me...and now I am "in-love" too! I don't remember where I first heard it but it has become common usage in my vocabulary with H.S.momoffive and others in my every day life!

My list:

pack krapoppa's lunch
pack RB's lunch
get 6 foot table for pears (downgrading from 8 foot)
move love-seat
put table closer to window (pears need some sun to ripen in my opinion...though they ripen in the grocery store...so...maybe they don't!)
move pears to smaller table
CLEAN DESK (BRAT is having a party as we speak...I can see her dancing around on the mess and she has the music way too loud!)
tidy kitchen
wrap packages for mail
errands:
--PO
--Library
--Bank
--Dairy
Tomatoes into spaghetti sauce
can sauce
have Red Bear take picture of August card
fold bedding/towels
w/d/f/p towels after canning sauce

Supper-sweet corn & fruit

Good morning! Our wedding was outside, our colors were white, chocolate, and red. We had a dessert reception with homemade (mostly) items. We had bagpipes at the wedding, cd music and piņatas at the reception, oh and we were married under a chupa (canopy). I made my dress with the help of my aunt, costume teacher, and beading queen friend. Cost me $50 and I loved it. My red hair was down. The decorations were candles, roses, and tulle. I let my mom and aunt decorate. It was beautiful but they overworked themselves. Our favor was 5 Jordan almonds. Oh and I made the grooms cake. And one of the bridesmaid dresses. It was crazy and fun and I would make a few changes if I had a do-over, but all toward less stress.

Good morning! Not sure what will be the plan for today, yet. Breakfast and tea is in my belly, so I better figure it out soon!
