I'm glad it's over too. I slept a bit better last night and would still probably be asleep but dd2 is coming over for a few minutes in a few minutes so I had to be up. I wish I could have an unwind day but that will be a week or so away, based on what I have to get done for work. The sad thing is it's a part-time job so I am only allowed to work 29 hours for pay but part of it is teaching and that requires an average of 2 hours prep for every 1 hour taught so I spend an additional 6 hours preping, minimum, per week. Seems like that's more like 35 hours for the weeks I only have 2-3 hour classes but many weeks I have more than that. AND if the subject matter is something really new it will take me longer than that. I'm not complaining, really, more just now seeing why I feel like I work a full-time job. LOL

Everyone else, hope y'all are doing well! I really do miss you all and it makes me sad when this site is lonely! So, I will try and do better at checking in myself. Today is our last day here and tomorrow will be a long travel day. 3-4 hours to airport then sitting and waiting and hoping to get on a flight. I'm so ready to get home!!!

Kids sent me a video. Zack is almost crawling!!!
Cher - sounds like you've been having a good time even if it is smelling/looking at the tulips. I remember when we took our trip I was ready to be back home a day or two before we left. Funny - we can't wait to get away but then can't wait to get back.

How sweet that the kids sent you a video. Zach will probably be crawling in some manner by the time you get home. Such a wonderful surprise.

Safe travels!

My mom spent the night last night and just left. It was good to see her. She hasn't spent the night here in a while. I'm finally eating breakfast and then will get started with my day.

I checked the Paper Crafts facebook page. Wow. 1225 submission, 229 acceptances, for 87 people. I can't wait to see this issue!

mrslaird...I was smiling at the grocery store today...twice actually...the second time is when I thought of you...

I'm walking towards the exit, notice 2 mom's with children...1 lady I know...she has one son so the other 3 belong to the other lady...

Youngest girl says to singleton boy..."Look, I've got blood from a bump!" The singleton's mom says, "Well, look, he does too!" And pulls back the boys' hair to reveal quite a large bump and cut...

Last week school was canceled because of 6" of snow...today it is spring, no coats, short sleeves and proud bumps, bruises and cuts!

That's life here in the north country!

Just not sure what I'm going to do with the grass issue or the landscape fabric issue as well so I guess I'll work on that new class.

I just finished washing a load of clothes so time to move them to the dryer.

I've got to do a quick pick up in my kitchen and upper end of the house. My EMS boss will be coming by on Sunday afternoon to buy the fence we took up a couple of weeks ago. Woo hoo for getting rid of the fence but arg at having to clean my house while I need to be working on something else.

I guess if I get the cleaning started and do a 30 minute timer I might could get it all done with some studying/prep in between.

Another snake has lost its life to Whatchamacallit! Yippee...this dog is finally earning the cost of her dog food...Pink Snuggles isn't liking it so much because I make her take care of the dead snake...

I would be fine if the snakes lived in the shed...I haven't gone to shed for many years because one time I was visiting with krapoppa and holding the lid of the lawn tractor open for him...

I suddenly dropped the lid and he said to me in a very even/keel tone...I really wish you hadn't just done that...

And I said in response, also in an even/keel tone, to his comment...

And I really wish a snake hadn't just crawled across my foot!

I might add that I had on flip-flops at the time...

What more could he say?

Snakes and I do not get along...if they want to live in the woods that is fine...living under my front sidewalk is not!

So I got all the floors swept and some hot spots put out. I still have a couple of those left to take care of in the kitchen/dinning room. And I need to mop the floors. I also need to hang some jackets in the closet and dust a bit but then I'll feel OK with the boss coming over.

well it seems that it's not only the young ones that are sporting bumps, bruises & cuts.... the man who has been working on installing the A/C in my car knocked himself out cold yesterday in his shop. He was sporting quite the scrape at worship practice last night :P

so far today:

spent all morning at the office...
worked on cutting / digging out quackgrass on my front lawn this afternoon (DD1 estimates we have another 20 man-hours left... we'll see how much progress we can make tomorrow)
and now, thanks to DD1, we've avoided another visit from the friendly firemen... can you say SHE to the nth degree!?!?!? yikes.

Kramomma ~ I love the stories about the kids and the bumps! I found out the other day that Nicholas is like his mom when it comes to cuts. He was chewing his fingernails and ended up tearing one of them. He was completely fine as the blood was dripping...until he saw the blood! OH BOY! Then, you would think he had his whole hand cut off! LOL! I used to have the same reaction! The stories about the snakes, on the other hand, give me cold shivers!!!

Doctors appointment took all afternoon, then oil change and park time. We have one tired little one. She slept on the way home and just ate dinner. She is staying one more night.

Frost warning tonight so have to run and cover plants, have a good evening.

Can you tell me what the words say on the one roll?

Of course I'm only inquiring...not purchasing...though those 3 rolls that one of them is honeycomb look...well...those 3 are pulling my mind to ask someone to help me!

Good Saturday, April 27th, morning. Boy this thread has been quite today. At 11:41 my time there have usually been a few comments already.

I slept in for a while this am and feel a bit better but I think this pollen is killing my allergies again. Sucks to have seasonal allergies with something nearly every season.

I still have some things to do to put out some hot spots that I don't really want my boss to see tomorrow but I'm getting there. I decided to work on the cleaning this am and then I'll have the rest of the weekend to work on the HRD stuff.

Last night I got up some tree limb parts that fell a few nights ago. Thought dh would take care of it but NOT.

I've swept & vacced & mopped the floors

I still need to
take care of the bathrooms
move some boxes of things I've gotten ready to get rid of
finish cleaning off the table (just a few things)
go through a stack of things on the kitchen counter
get garbage up and out

NOT TOO BAD!

Once I get that all done I need to really work on the HRD stuff.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day today

Well I'm on the way to getting it all done. Still need to take care of those boxes and I think I'll have it finished and ready to go.

I've also been working on the HRD stuff as well.

WOW this thread has been quite today.

Hello, hopefully a fun filled Saturday for everyone!

We had the T tops off and went cruising to our local street fair and then an art festival a few towns away. We ate lunch el fresco then before we came home stopped by the purple cow for some raspberry and chocolate ice cream.

Between festivals we stopped and visited an elderly neighbor who is going into assisted living on Wednesday. He is not happy how his kids are taking any decision making away from him.

I'm exhausted and its only 7 pm!

Sounds like you had a great day.

It's too sad about your friend's children making decisions for him he's not happy with. Unfortunately, that happens more and more. My dad has let us (my brother, his wife, dh & me) know what his thoughts & desires are for the future so we don't really have to do much should the need arise.

If it makes you feel any better, I have one here but he doesn't do much. If it's to do with the yard, you can count him out, for the most part.
