Default S2S14H

S2S14G 'Stickers'
Remember when we first started scrapbooking and stamping and we loved the variety that stickers gave us. I know I bought lots of them at first. A couple of years ago, I gave a large box of them to a colleague for her young son. But I kept back a few, and have since yielded to temptation in buying a few more. Now, I need to either use them or loose them, as they say. I'm having a big garage sale this spring, so whatever I don't use, I will be selling or giving away. Come to think of it, I could include a few in my next Teapot Tuesday tickle card!
Here's the sample I made.....haven't put it in my gallery yet. The sentiment and the circle map are stickers.

Funny how our tastes change as we learn new things. I bought tons of stickers at first too. Gave away a ton a while back. Have bought some the last couple of years, but definately not the Mrs. Grossman's from years back. might have to dig them out to take with me to a crop on the 8th.

Thanks!! I seem to go in creative spurts where I get a lot done or nothing at all. I have definitely had more creative spurts since getting more involved on SCS. The challenges have really pushed me to get stuff done!

When I did my big purge last year I think I gave away every last sticker I had collected. I may have kept a few but I will have to really search high and low for them

Jeanne Ann, if you don't have any stickers at all, just make a card! You can still use the challenge letters S2S14H and just say 'no stickers' These challenges are about organizing and using up things we have stashed away.

Oh I think I can come up with something! I have been trying really hard to only use what I have on hand. I got a Michaels gift card for Christmas and haven't been in the store yet and figure at some point there will be something that I cannot live without! If nothing else I will just make my own stickers afterall isn't that what the xyron is for!

Jan I have the baby X, I think is 2" maybe, and the 5". I use the little one more often but sometimes die cuts or titles just won't fit in it and the bigger one gets used.

I use my xyron machine all the time for adhesive for my intricate dies or even ribbon. Mine s the 2.5", but I have seen a mini one that is easy to put in your bag for workshops.

We have 3 Xyrons = the little "X", 2.5", 5". My DD uses them a lot more than I do. I think they are great for the intricate pieces like Sharon said. Sometimes if I have a lot of pieces I pull it out, but I usually don't have much so I just use my Yes! paste. I have found the Tombow liquid thingy (green and white) works really great for its pin-pointing end.
Well, as Feb. draws to an end I am about to go on a spending spree in spite of the fact I have no need for ANYTHING new. I'm going with Kris and Donna on a Shop Hop of 8 LSS. We are doing 4, spending the night in the middle and then the other 4, returning home the next evening. It will be a fun outing. They went last year without me because I was still working. This year I'm excited to go. Now that I have built myself up $52 lets see if I can stay under that limit. I'm not counting gas, hotel, and extra food, btw! I am telling myself that I'm going to really get serious about making stuff, like the challenges here, when I get back. I love that Ina posts these extra challenges here for us too.
See ya' next month!

Joyce Ann. it sounds like an amazing time, enjoying time with your like minded friends and shopping! Crafting shopping is the only kind of shopping I enjoy, but I'd have a really hard time controlling my spending if I were to go on a trip like yours. I'm eager to hear what you have bought and how you are going to put it to use. Maybe I can taylor a challenge based on something you bought!

I updated my totals. Looking good because of all the challenges for VSBN and VSN and Love Fest. I had a busy crafty month! I did 15 scrap pages, but only uploaded 10 of them. And uploaded and made 18 cards. I have sent out 12 cards, some from my stash.
We will have more VSN in March, so will be busy in March too. Love it though. It is my relaxation and de-stresser!

Well ladies, I'm home from the Shop Hop. We did 4 shops each of the two days, spent one night in a Hotel, and didn't get home until just after midnight last night (this morning?). I went crazy but all in all I only spent $122.49. The papers (9) are geared to my current scraping project of our trip the Gaylord Palms. Bought 3 stamp sets - one of sayings, one for decorating envelopes, and one of squares and triangles along with some fabric ink. Additionally some trimmings that will go on and on. 2 EPs, one is yellowish that I think would be great so stars and other light sources, one is ivory with a hint of gold that I'm seeing as a fab background for my BG stamps. Oh and a Copic coloring book, to me it isn't just for coloring but for practicing shading when I sketch. Each shop had a photo opportunity staged. Ge got so fun photos to use in our Shop Hop scrapbook.
So, Ina, I see some challenge material in there!
embossed light source
embossed background
squares and triangles together
decorated envelopes - small ones as well as regulars
Anyway, that's for asking about my trip! I did well, rarely missed a turn, but was tired of driving.
Enjoy the wedding Ina.
Spent = $122.49 This should last me for a while.

Joyce, sounds like a great time was had by all, you did well only spending what you did after visiting so many craft shops, I would be grateful for just one over here!
Looking forward to seeing your projects using your stash.

Default S2S14I 'Ribbon'

I have three boxes full of ribbons and threads for my card making, and every time I go to Hobby Lobby, I buy more if it is on sale. And yet, it took me a long time to start using ribbon on my cards. You may be like me, hoarding so many ribbons! Le's use them on our cards this week and also try to get them sorted. I won't have time to organize mine his week, but will try to do so soon. I used two ribbons on my sample card.

Had a busy crafting week. On Thursday I had my Technique club where we made some very nice cards using the SU envelope punch board, and on Saturday I took a couple of card classes. The first was using the new Dahlia stamp set from SU where we did several new techniques and made 3 cards with an envelope purse to put them in, plus 20 birthday cards in 3 styles.

Yes, Ina, Joyce is right the ribbon really made that dress image. And Jeanne, love that embossed dahlia card. Wow!

Joyce, it sounds so fun to go stamp shopping. I am glad you had fun. My gf and I have gone to stamp shows before, and have so much fun. Haven't done that for several years now.

Joyce Ann sounds like you had a great trip!

Going to a crop this weekend. Taking stuff to make easy cards. Stickers, colored images, etc. I know I won't get caught up on the 100 in 100 but I want to make a stab at it. The cards I plan to make should cover a couple of the challenges here and get teh ones I need done for this month taken care of.

I didn't get a picture, but I did use the wood challenge for the BF's Valentine. I wish I could remember who I CASEd to make it.

My card for the challenge to use ribbon, well I tried Ina but couldnt make it work so I only ended up using a small piece to make a bow! I did say I`m not good with ribbon but as you can see below I have far too many.

Default S2S14J 'Cami's Tri-fold card'

It's a bit late on a Monday morning but I'm having a slow start after a busy weekend. It's the third Monday of the month, which means a technique challenge. I went into the resources section and picked something I have not done, so that it will be a challenge for me too. It's Cami's tri-fold card. It doesn't look too hard and I think can result in some interesting cards. so let's give it a try. I have not had time to make a sample card, so you have only the tutorial and gallery to look at. Here is the link to the tutorial. Splitcoaststampers - Camiís Trifold Card Project Tutorial by Beate Johns

well, my weekend was good news and bad news for my spend/creating. Good news - Went to a Friday night and all day Saturday fund raiser crop for the local boy scout camp. Made over 20 cards, a mini album and a small canvas from a kit. Bad news - stopped at the LLS Saturday morning to check out the crafting garage sale and spent almost $100.

That's o.k. Angie....you are still in the black!
I went to a wedding in Muncie Indiana and went to a Hobby Lobby store and only spent $8.00 on Tombow liquid adhesive. I'm proud of myself. I guess I should update my totals.

Thanks Ina, but probably not. I just haven't updated my totals. I don't think I have since my first posting in January. Hmmmm. Makes me think I am a wee bit afraid to see what the total would be....

I have a little good news from the home front here - DD decided to clean up the craft room! Yeah! You may remember my rant a little while back about the mess. Well, she decided she would pack up all the supplies and crafty stuff she isn't using and put it in the garage. So, she pretty much has it done. We decided to re-do the three shelving units. they needed reinforcement, so I screwed in supports under the shelves as some had busted through. We are going through and reorganizing and I am so happy. It's fun to re-find stuff and makes me really want to get in there and create.

I have €100 burning a hole in my pocket but I'm determined to keep saving and wait until our trip next month, I've noticed a craft shop I use isn't a million miles from Heathrow airport so I'm hoping we can make a detour on our way to DS1 house after dropping Joey and Charlie off after our holiday.
