found on yahoo answers for you: The American Robin is migratory. However, they are not "complete" migrants. That is: not all individuals leave their breeding range during non breeding months.
In western New York and all around the Great Lakes Region some Robins remain in this region during the cold months. This is dependent upon available food supply.
We see fewer Robins in winter because they are less conspicuous. They flock and these groups prefer rural areas, or areas where there are few people, but available food.
In spring the Robins are more obvious because they are moving back into more populated areas as the flock breaks up in an activity called breeding dispersal. Robins are not community nesters. Each pair has it's own territory. This results in the Robins being more obvious to the casual observer because they are spread over a large area. ( Think of marbles. If you have them all together it is easy to hide them all in 1 place. If you scatter them it is much easier to find 1 or 2 but not all)
Robins do not lose their color in winter although is may not be as bright as their feathers wear.
Only 2 people are in the running for this month's prize envie. Ina has 1 and Toni has 2. If I'm missing anyone.. now is the time to let me know! I'll draw about noon on Thursday!
I just updated my totals.....going in the wrong direction now. I am getting my cricut back. It was a Christmas gift and I used it only twice before it wouldn't work any more, so the company is sending me a replacement. To celebrate that, I just had to go our and buy the cartridge I have been looking at for the past half year....a regular $79 item, on sale for $39. Now I really have to work hard to earn my way out of the pit!
I really need to start using these challenges when I make a card. However, I did make a sympathy card using the birds and swirls embossing folder. Since I stuck the embossed panel upside down you can't really tell there's birds on it. They look like falling leaves.
not been able to make any cards but I did get two digital pages done for the mini VSBN. I need to update my totals but that will have to wait until I finish getting my tax info together. Yes, I procrastinate!

You'll do fine, Ina! Congrats on getting a new Cricut.
I'll do my February bookwork tomorrow afternoon while I'm cleaning off the desk. Going shopping again next weekend for some of the new DCWV papers they just released yesterday. So gotta make it look good.

I saw birds, Debbie. Wish you'd have posted it on the 29th so I could have put you in the drawing I like to give stuff away.
congrats Ina on winning!! I didn't even know of the challenge and Jeremy made a cute bird card on our blog. I am back from mom's finally getting a computer, yippee!! I have 2 workshops booked this month and a make n take, trying to get 2 more workshops booked in March (it is our birthday month, I know I can't believe it has been a year). So with all that I hope to have some fun crafty time too. love seeing everyone's creations and miss chatting with you all!

Me, too, but I didn't make it until last night.
I'm hoping after my uncle's funeral tomorrow and visits with the cousins things will settle down around here a bit. DH will be in an art show next weekend, nothing big, so I'll need something to keep me busy while sitting around hoping people will buy a picture or two. Hope to get some images colored during that time. I just have to decide what images I'm going to stamp. Last year I worked on quilt cards. I'm not good at thinking that far ahead.
I have been missing being crafty! The children at school seem to think that spring is here, even though we have had snow on the ground two days this week. That means quite a bit more naughty behavior and makes for long days for me. I'll be happy to have a few hours in my craft room today! I need to update my totals today too. It's looking good for me.

Sorry to hear about your uncle, Debbie. It's nice to see family, but never under those circumstances.
Looking forward to what you come up with while killing time next weekend.

I remember those days at the daycare and Girl Scout meetings. You just can't contain that 'spring' energy hehe I think it's the same thing that hits us when we get the urge to 'spring clean' aka my bedroom closet yesterday hehe

Great that you're back home and have your own computer again. Sounds as if the business is going well. I'm glad to hear that.
As to the challenges, I've posted a link to the list. They're master list is on Post #12. The Challenge KEYWORD, theme and Post # where you can find the details.
I give credit for each challenge you participate in through the month. Sometimes you can earn 2 chances in the drawing as I offer a 'bonus' for the challenge.
Thanks, Kelly. My uncle was 2 months shy of his 93rd birthday. He was in good health until a year ago. I hope I'm as active as he was at that age.
I joined this challenge to try to keep me from impulse spending. For the most part I'm doing pretty good. However, I was looking at the ScrapRack website and they have Freestyle Mouse kit from Purple Cows. It sells for $29.95. The kit has a freestyle cutter shaped like a skinny computer mouse with a straight blade included, 12 different cutting blades, a cutting mat, and a ruler if you want to cut straight lines. The blades alone sell for around $5 each. So I broke down and ordered one and got it in today's mail. Just played with it on some scraps. I'm glad I caved. It's going to be so handy to use next weekend during the art show. Oh yeah, you can get this at the Purple Cows website, too, for the same price.
Congratulations, Ina! I hope to start doing these challenges.
I just seem to keep busy with these scrapbook challenges!
For you scrappers here is my Scrapbook Inspiration Challenge for this week. You are welcome to check it out and play~

wow I've been out of the loop I guess.
I'd forgotten about this thread.
Forgive me Kelly?
I just checked all the challenges.. boy do i have some catching up to do
I've just put a card in the mail for my sister-in-law....worked on it yesterday and today, but got it in the post so she should get it by next Tuesday. I was looking for my beige music score paper, because my SIL wears a lot of beige, but it was hard to find, and I ran into this paper that I forgot I had. Since retirement my SIL has been spending a lot of time at the pottery guild and her work is superb. She also crochets hats for a charity and I happened to have a whole box of tiny flowers left over from a few years ago when I was recuperating from surgery and crocheted a lot. My SIL was also a music teacher a few years back. Musical pottery by yellowrose46 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
