Week 12 Challenge:
I uploaded my pictures for the challenge early, and then realized some of you may see them and know what the next challenge is, so I might as well get it posted now! My challenge is different, unusual, a little more time consuming, but REMEMEBER this is called the YOU CAN DO IT Challenge! So here goes. My challeng is to make a pulley card. I got the idea and tutorial from Michelle's RubberRoom. She has measurements, but here is the basic measurements: Card Base is 6 X 11 and scored at 3 3/8", 7", and 10 5/8". You will need a 1" ribbon cut at least 12" long for the pulley. You will need two pieces that will be what pulls out cut at 3" X 4". And a stabilizer piece cut at 1 1/2" X 5 1/2" . Check out the tutorial and have some fun! I sure did. Please use the keyword: YCDI12. I hope I haven't scared anyone off!

Kathy... My craft friends and I did that card awhile ago except we used stripes of plastic instead of the ribbon.. The ribbon will be so much better.. The plastic tended to stretch and then it would not open easily...so I never made another one..... Should be fun to try it again.......Ribbon will be the answer for sure...

Yes, I made something similar a while back and you used a piece of plastic from a ziploc baggie! It didn't hold up as well. I will be in soon with another card posted. I just have to take a picture...

Lynn's Loonie Bin, Lynn's Lucky Labeler, Lynn LIVE, Lynn's Bin, LIVE with Lynn, just don't call it Lynn's Liar! It's funny what switching two little letters would do!

Lynn, I can't believe you got one done already tonight! My first one took me a while to figure out! I used a satin ribbon for mine. The second one was not 1" wide and it still works okay. I think ribbed ribbon would be a little harder to pull since the ribs may catch as you pull. Great job!!

Can't believe it is Easter week... seems early to me....

Question- have any of you had an acrylic stamp go all sticky and dark>>>>> Maybe I used a wrong cleaner or smething.. I have tried washing the set in warm soap and water .. etc.. They still work but just are weird to work with

I have had them go dark from the inks, but never sticky. Maybe you used staz on cleaner on them? That's a solvent ink cleaner and may have broken down the acrylic...just a thought. Like I said, mine go dark from ink but that's not unusual.

The card was fun and the tutorial is fabulous. I had everything cut out and scored based on your instructions. Then I went to the tutorial and followed along. I only erred once and that was my ribbon was to snug so I redeid that step and voila. All this was done from our hotel room with minimal supplies.

I didn't have issues with the ribbon, I messed up on taping the inside upside down at first. I have begun using my Georgia Pacific white cardstock from Walmart as a first trial. Then it isn't as expensive if (when!) I make a mistake. This morning I have been trying the flip top box tutorial from the resource section on SCS and have made 3 templates and trial boxes and still don't have it quite right! LOL

Kathy ~ Great challenge! It's fun to try new things. I hope to give it a try. In all honesty, I don't think I can do it this week. Easter week always keeps me busy, busy. On top of that, we have some big challenges in our household. I did my recycle card. Need to takes pictures and post. Don't know when I can do that. Wednesday or Thursday?? We'll see.

I wanted to check in and let ya all know that I'm still going strong. Just preoccupied with Easter and changes. I'll share more later. I'll be stopping by during the week to see the cards!

The pulley looks fun! Great for a challenge! Maybe I'll find time to try it. I'm not counting on it, but stranger things have happened. Enjoy the challenge, Stampers!

~

Thanks Kathy for a fun and surprisingly easy challenge.

The open card was difficult to photograph and edit, but at least you see what it looks like.

Great job, Val!! I'm glad you liked the challenge and found it easy. It really wasn't too hard, but I was grateful for the tutorial. It sure helps to see how things should go together.

No squirrels but probably a good bird viewing area! Maybe you could get one of those feeders that stick to the window? Kitty would love that, wouldn't she?
