Haircut is done. She explained some things to me about what color to get! I do it myself and save money for crafting!

Soon off to dentist.

Hey Kathy - I figured out the price of my getting my hair glazed twice a year works out MUCH better than having to get the stuff & use about every 6 weeks. And I use a shampoo I get from Sally's Beauty Supply that they say to use with colored hair - keeps hair colored longer, doesn't "strip" color from hair. I use ion shampoo for "color treated hair". Works SO well!!
And I never thought I would be using color on my hair - I couldn't wait to get gray hair! But my hair was graying in "blotches" - not throughout all of my hair. Looked like some large polka dots.

Now I've heard of salt & pepper gray, but polka dot grey .... LOL! Mine grayed from the top back. I still have a little brown at the nape of my neck, but the rest is mostly white. It's not a bad color, and I hate spending money on my hair so I don't color it. I did once when I was dating a guy who didn't want to be seen with an "old" woman. He didn't notice that I had it colored, so I never did it again. That was the beginning of the end for him anyway.

I have been so busy of late I have not been crafting.. I did get my dress for the wedding yesterday so that is a big thing off the list... and got my hair cut today too.. so may be this aft I will be able to go into that very messy craft room and try and find it... Love the cards that are coming in...

Lynn, don't feel bad. Yesterday at this time it was 91 here and today it is 79.

I would let my hair go all gray if it would, but it seems to only want to gray around the face. My friend has beautiful white hair and if mine were like that, I wouldn't mind at all. So basically I am really just covering the roots.

Just poppin in to say hi. Busy getting ready for my French exam. I need help. 1500.00 for forty hours of tutoring, not covered by work. Think of all the stuff I could buy for my craft room.

Dea why are you taking french? Is it for work? Have you looked into programs like Rossetta Stone? Not sure how expensive that would be but I'm thinking it would be cheaper than 1500.00

We use Rossetta Stone for people who want to learn Spanish at work. Some of my vendors that I deal with in Canada speaks French.

There are 2 official languages in Canada...French and English. Many times you are required to speak both

Yikes! 1500! You should be reading, speaking, and writing French fluently after all that tutoring. I hope the exam goes well.

Kathy, please let me know if your bag makes it to you. I get worried when I send stuff like that out to people.

I am learning French for work , I actually have a test the first week in July. Rosetta stone is an amazing program and works fabulously for conversational French, I have to learn government of Canada French and the test is focused on your work. I have been working on my French for the past ten months but now it is getting close and I know I need help with my oral so I paid one of the schools for one on one tutoring. In the government we are tested on oral, comprehension and grammar. I am trying for my middle level or BBB in July and my advanced or EEE in December at which time I will need to hire another tutor.

If I do not pass I will probably be without a job. I work in a national program for a French manager who believes you are nothing without both languages. I have been doing my same job for five years, she has been my manager for ten months.

Thats all folks.....

Dea

Yay Grumpy. I think you should rethink his name now.....

Dea, what can I say? I feel bad for you. If I had a job that depended on my learning French, well...I wouldn't have a job. And a ten month manager who forces the issue.....that stinks. Especially when I think you would know your job much better than she does. I volunteer, and there are two employees in my office. Both are in danger of losing hours because their productivity is based on how many volunteer hours are given each month! How can they control that, yet they still must work with all those many many volunteers! The work is the same, it's just that volunteers can work when they want. Many go on vacations, and during the winter months, if it snows even a flurry, they can call off....so unfair. I am praying that the higher ups will see that they are needed full time, because the work is there.

Best of luck Dea!! I know you'll do well!!
Wish we had more people here who spoke French - it seems if I don't get to use my French, I will forget it or get "rusty" speaking it.

My problem here has been we have so many people here who speak Spanish (I speak French & English). I took Spanish in College - and my professor told me I "start off in Spanish & end in French" - that I speak "Franish." She then told me to go back to French. I have done that!

The chuckle I got was when I was called in to translate French at a local hospital. The patient was from Haiti - and the French is a different dialect there (I had learned French with a European accent). After that incident, I wrote on my form for a translator that I could understand European & Canadian French - not Haitian French or Creole French.

Hello ladies....phew it's hot over here. I learned how to build a bird house today in Kaitlyn's class, what a chore that was, I think I'll stick to sewing. It was fun though helping the kids out.
Hope everyone is enjoying their start of the weekend.

Lynn & Sharon - Sounds like you are enjoying all the VSBN challenges. I'm trying to gear up for the VSN Main next weekend. Since I'm a hostess, I get sneak peaks at the challenges and I should be making samples ahead of time. So far, that hasn't happened.

Lynn - YEAH!! Your herb pots look good, and I'm SO proud of you with your getting out on the balcony!!

Kathy - I've done some on VSN. I was more active with it when I first got on SCS, but it seems that it is always at the same time I have another commitment. I hope I can do the next round of VSN. The name of that round looks interesting!

Dea - should we call our virtual nights of French VNF??

I'm not into scrapbooking so that's probably why I didn't know what VSBN was! VSN is virtual stamping night, right? I think I went in there once and maybe tried one card, but I can't remember. It would have been a long time ago....

I'm no help to Dea. I know a little spanish and some ASL but that's it for me. oo la la. Is that French? LOL
