Good evening ladies......I just got home from a very interesting and adventurous Easter weekend at the cabin. Got there Thursday night to 12 degrees celcius and hardly any snow left. Started snowing Friday and by Saturday morning we had over 18 inches of snow, had no power, and no way out. We were snowed in and had no idea when we were going to get power back. We were very inventive over the next 31 hours without power from using our wood stove to boil water and cook on, to baking cookies in the BBQ and building puzzles with the Grandkids by candle light and flashlights. We went toboganning down our hill (which is the road in front of our cabin), colored Easter Eggs, had one of my boys jumping off our deck into the snow bank below (I can stand up under our deck), getting water out of our big water tank with ice cream pails tied to ropes to fill up 5-gal pails so we could flush toilets. Made toast on the BBQ, had to take all the food out of the freezer and put it in tubs out on the deck so it would stay frozen.....but the tip of the ice burg was when we ended up with a chimney fire this afternoon in the cabin....NOT FUN AT ALL!!! We managed to get it put out after our cabin filled with smoke and we had everyone get their butts out of the cabin. I had visions of all our hard work going up in smoke. I ended up with a pretty sore throat out of the ordeal but everything turned out okay and everyone was safe at the end of the day. It took us an extra hour to drive home cause the roads were so bad....I don't think I've ever been sooooo glad to get home!!! I'm exhausted and am going to bed now.....goodnight my friends!!
Wow Yvonne. So glad you are all safe. That had to have been scary (did I spell that right?) But on the other hand, you got to experience what it was like in the old days before electricity and power. Maybe you should build an outhouse for your next project. LOL Oh and most of all.........you keep that snow up there. DO NOT send any of it my way
And now for Lisa.......So help you, if you make us make a different card for every day of the week, I will personally come up there and steal everything out of your craft room so you have nothing and I mean nothing to work with. And then, and then, you steal everyones mojo and your giving it alllllllll to Lauren?????? How fair is that?
(can you hear me whinning?) I am so far behind. Waaaaaaaaaaa!

Love the challenges Lisa! For starters, let the DSP do the work; next up, is masculine - use buttons and twine. Fingers crossed I can play with these two challenges this evening.
Good Morning to all.

For anyone who's interested, I finally finished the Star Album for friend's birthday. Posted three pictures in my gallery so you could see it open too. This is for the friend that we bought the Big Kick and accessories for her birthday! Giving it all to her on Saturday. (She doesn't have a computer so no worries that she will see this!)
Poking out of the homer hole...everyone has been busy...Yvonne...did you meet any nice firemen???? Or did your mom steal them for physio!
Ok..a dp card...ooopppsss totally missed stuff in there...ooopppsss...I know I meesed stuff but brain on overload...sick of being sick.. ok...so I am alive...wishing for a sinus drill...looking forward to grumpy getting his stitches out on Friday....sooo toally forgot what I was going to say...off to find tea and the homer hole...I have 3 boxes of tissues waiting for me there!
OKAY LADIES!!!!! Let's do what we do best!!!! MIX THE MEN UP!!!! LOL!!!!
Lately I have been veering towards a more Clean and Simple style... I'm not sure why but I'm just gonna go with it!
I am challenging you to make some Man Cards!!!! They don't have to be clean and simple.... just anything you feel like creating, keeping the embellishments to a minimum has been very helpful for me when making them.
***Lisa is having a run cause Lynn can't keep up!!!! Looking desperately for sinus drill and decongestant.....leaving a trail of tissues where ever I go
Kathy!! That album is soooo awesome!! I love it! Very well done and your friend is going to be blown away with your talent my friend!!

Lisa are you posting a second challenge for this week? I thought the challenge was designer paper, but now I see man cards...I posted a dp card that technically could also be a man card, although I wouldn't tell a man I was thinking of him!! DH wouldn't like that very much! LOL
Kathy I thought I would post a double challenge this week for fun I haven't been around a lot lately and I haven't had a lot of time for crafting so I went crazy and have been making cards like a demon! I totally love your star album! Amazing Job!!!!
Okay, thanks for clarifying Lisa. Will see what I can do, but I've got to get to Diane's N card first! Thanks everyone for the compliments on my Star Card. I must say, I was inspired by the resource section AND Lauren did a card not too long ago that was gorgeous!
