ok Donna before you put the clay in..... dust it with talcum powder or cornflower that will stop it from sticking....

you could also slit 2 of the sides down and then use an elastic band to hold them in place to put the clay in, and then remove the elastic band to make it easy to take the clay out...

Talcum power or glycerine are what are called 'slip' for claymaking....

Please, Please think of something for me, I am going nuts tearing my house apart looking for things And I know it is probably something easy that everyone has sitting right in front of me.
Donna, we did 10 cards, I only posted five pictures. We pay $10 for 10 every month! I told my demo you'd like to come along and she says you're welcome. Next month it is December 1st and we will have our Christmas party too, so head out early and don't forget my present! LOL

Love your quotes Lynn. That one from John 13, I always sing it! When the boys were little I bought them a tape called GT and the Halo express and they sang Bible verses. Singing made it much easier to learn, and mom learned along with the boys!! LOL Thanks for that great memory.

Hope these pass as my "outside the box" projects. I did not put them into my gallery because I wasn't sure how. I will have to figure that out. Don't tell me, let me figure it out for myself. Thanks

I watched a youtube video tonight on how to wire wrap beads and thought I would give it a try. Not the best, but I think they turned out ok. I also made some handmade polymer clay things but am waiting for them to dry. I don't want to use my oven to dry things in even tho this stuff would not hurt if any. I love this making jewelry stuff and using the clay also. Just wish now I could find some old Squabble pieces and some Domino pieces to use. I like to repurpose things.

Lauren, can you glue pieces of clay together with strong glue after they have dried? I thought I read somewhere that you couldn't. If not how do you make for example 3 squares different sizes and attach them together to dry together and not make the shapes looked wierd or misshappen?? KWIM? Because if i make 3 different pieces and then try to attach them together, I have to smush them to get them to stick together. I hope you understand what I am asking.

Donna I think your beads turned out fabulous, they are great!!

With clay you can glue things together when they are dry if you want to..... you can do anything you want to with craft, that is how people create techniques, just because something didn't work for someone, does not mean this might not work for you.

With clay the best (easiest ) way to glue bits together is while you are still working with it, or it is still drying, wet the two sides to make it 'muddy' and it acts like glue. Donna just keep experimenting, I know it is expensive unless you are making your own clay, but it really is the best way.

Now I have to go put my dinner on, so I will be back in about 15 mins.

Just undecided and very tired and it is not even dinner time yet, half hour to go. Curry beef for dinner!!! hahaha

Lauren, I use MinWax on my paper beads. Doesn't change the color of them. Maybe this will help you instead of using Utee.

I have only seen people dip things into it so that they turn out stiff. I don't think I have seen actual embellishments made WITH the stuff?!?!?!?!?! TO stiffen things and it acts like a glue also and Puts a very shiny surface on it I use 3D dimensional lacqure, Ilove that stuff. Don't think I could live with out it. U should check that out.

I use a product from Ranger called Glossy Accents, I love that stuff too, but when you melt UTEE you can pour it too, fill molds, make molds and all sorts of things.... am still learning..

As usual, I'm confused as to what the challenge is about,ha! but, since this is the challenge with no rules, LOL, let me know if this project meets the challenge! If so, I'll upload it as MIU !!

I've been creating these beaded letter openers and decorating the gift box for it. Quick and easy gift!

Donna, these are soooo easy (easy is my middle name! LOL)

I purchase the letter openers from Michaels (found in the bead section) and the large hole beads from Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Joanns, and even Walmart carries the large hole beads.

The long gift boxes I get at Hobby Lobby or Joanns. Now, with Christmas stuff out I think I can get some of the long narrow gift boxes at Walmart too.

I've only made paper beads once and used clear nail polish on them. Just a thought if you don't have UTEE or crystal effects.

I have a kit to make the glass pendants (similar to a picture that Lynn has posted). In addition to the sites Lynn posted, here's another for the glass pieces that you can put images behind to create jewelry. craftfantastic.com

Hope everyone has a marvelous, crafty Monday!

It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.
- Edmund Hillary

There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere,
and many of us will have to pass
through the valley of the shadow of death
again and again before we reach
the mountaintop of our desires.
- Nelson Mandela

I just want to do God's will.
And he's allowed me to go to the mountain.
And I've looked over, and I've seen the promised land!
I may not get there with you,
but I want you to know tonight that
we as a people will get to the promised land.
- Martin Luther King, Jr.

It isn't the mountain ahead that wears you out;
it's the grain of sand in your shoe.

My heart is sad. Just went to Ravioigirl (Beverly's) Caringbridge site. She passed away peacefully yesterday morning. Love and prayers for her family. I met Ravioligirl in the Pay it Forward thread and she just recently updated me with her condition. I had no idea until then of what was happening. Please keep her family in your prayers this coming week.

Oh how sad, what was wrong with her. I knew she has some issues but didn't know exactly what. I also got to know her from the Pay It Forward thread but have not been on there for quite awhile. My prayers are definately with her family and close one.
