With the ringing in of the new year comes many wishes and resolutions. One of my hopes for the year, and something I've been working on in the recent months, actually, is that I will cut down on the clutter in my craft room. Do I really *need* another stack of patterned paper (well yes, I know I do, but eventually, I'm going to run out of room!), that container of Primas, those rub-ons? Sure, it's nice to have all the new stuff, but are we using what we buy? During this ongoing reorganization, I've unearthed TONS of products and embellishments I have not seen since I put them away shortly after I bought them. I've been trying to use that *stuff* when I stamp lately, and that's my challenge to you.
This first day of the new year, use something you've been hoarding or hiding or just dig through your stuff to find something older than the last month. Show it some love, put it on a card, on a scrapbook page, whatever. Just have fun!
I have no sample to show. . . yet. As soon as my company wakes up and we have breakfast, I think my mom, sister, and sister-in-law will go messy up my newly-clean stamp room!

This one will require some thought, I'll get right on it after a trip to the LSS with my stampin' neighbor...it's become a New Years Day tradition...I mean how can we resist the 75% off?

Well, the card I just posted for SCSNEY04 last night has paper that I bought 3, if not 4 years ago. But that's less a case of hoarding than neglecting, so I shall try to make a card with something hoarded as well.
A Happy New Year to you.
I can so relate Jenn. This is also one of my resolutions. I think in this economy we need to become more thrifty and be thankful for what we already have. Love this challenge. Off to find some old stuff to love. Happy New Year. How awesome to stamp with family.
Hugs.

Bad photo, sorry about that. With the depth of the embellishments I need a tripod or more light to get better focus...tomorrow.
This was fun, even if it's hard to use some of those hoarded things.
Thanks, Jenn.
You seriously underestimate my hoarding abilities, Jenn.
LOL!
When I woke up this morning, my mom & dad had already left (Dad was going hunting at 4:30 and had to skedaddle). We made a big breakfast for my brother & sister-in-law and their two kids, my sister & brother-in-law and their two kids, and our two kids. Bacon, eggs to order, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, fresh bread, cinnamon rolls, blueberry muffins, little lemon cakes, coffee, juice. . . YUM!
Now that everyone's gone home (including a big surprise - my two kids decided to go home with my sister!), the house is quiet. A few loads of laundry, some sweeping, and I'll be ready to play along!
Hope I can play! I've got to go inspect my craft room. :-)

It was a ton of fun!!! I loved using something I'd never used before! Thanks, Jen!

Thanks, Jenn, for the reminder to use some of the old stuff....I think we're all guilty of constantly using something new. I chose a stamp that had never been inked before and a silver tag that has been in my stash for about four years! Here is my card:Six Challenges Combo! - Heaven Scent by angelladcrockett at Splitcoaststampers
I've had some Pretty in Pink paper and the sentiment stamp for about 3 years (not a huge fan of either the color or the stamp set!). I tried to re-create a Starbucks gift card holder - kept the same basic fold but changed the type of closure (used repositionable Tombow Mono Multi glue).
Thanks for looking!
I have been hoarding this Basic Grey Sugared paper. I look at it lovingly and then put it away. Thanks for the nudge, I finally cut into it! Here is my card: This one really hurt! by ravengirl at Splitcoaststampers.
Thanks again!
