Okay starting this again. It has been a rough week physically and mentally. Fortunately DH has been good about it all. I am way behind on messages and reading threads. Gotta get my swaps up to date. Hopefully tonight. Tomorrow is reserved for grading behind in that two. Have a good evening all!

Once a week would be awesome! We meet once a month. We make 10 cards for $10. Some months when our demo is overloaded we each design three and bring the supplies for the other two to make and we don't pay anything. That's what we're doing tomorrow.

Karen, thanks for checking in. Look forward to seeing your creations when you can join us!

Do you use the mouse pad on the laptop or do you have a mouse? When I had a laptop, I disabled that touchpad because my cursor was always showing up in the wrong places. I bought a USB plug and play mouse and used that. Hope you get it fixed. Sometimes these things have minds of their own!

Today is card class day, so I will be heading out the door sometime around 8:45 and won't be back until at least 4. Fun Fun Fun! I only logged on because I was hoping they had posted the challenge early for HYCCT and they did! I hope to create before I leave, but may not be able to post until I get home....Have a great day!!

Opps! I typed "once a week", but I meant once a month. Sorry. I don't think I could keep up with once a week.

Your class sounds fun! I would pay $10 to make 10 cards. I imagine you learn lots of fun techniques, gain ideas and even hear good tips. Enjoy your class!

In my card club, we take turns being hostess. The hostess picks a card theme prior to the meeting. We exchange cards with that theme. For instance, this month it's Thank You cards.

Then the Leader gives a demonstration. I love watching her make cards. We do a make-n-take, exchange our cards and place SU! orders. There's a small minimum, but I never have trouble spending that little! The hostess for the month gets the hostess benefits. It's been fun so far. My hostess turn is in November. Anyone want to place an order? LOL

Would be nice to stop by.. You need one of those vacuums that run around on there own...... apparently all you do is watch them...
Those darn dishes just seem to be there all the time...
I am baking buns today.... have one more pan to bake.. then I get to go pick up a parcel at the post office....Don't know how I missed the guy/girl yesterday.. but I did... .

Card class was awesome. This month we each designed three cards, but normally our demo does ten and we pay $10. She even has all the supplies except our tape, scissors and bone folders. She puts them all out on the table and as we walk in, there is a lot of oooooing and ahhhhing! LOL Most of her cards have been CASE'd from SCS and are wonderful! About half way through we take a snack break. Usually have a cup of coffee too. Then back at it until finished and then on to orders. I spent nearly $90 this month, but that's with tax and shipping too. What we have decided, because there is only three of us, if you spend at least $50, you get to share in the hostess money. One of the three doesn't spend that much each month, so it's usually just the demo and I splitting it since we are the spenders and the third girl doesn't mind at all since she isn't contributing her third. It has worked so far and I got all the hostess sets I wanted, so this month I order two things instead of the hostess sets.

Kathy, sounds like you had a great day!
Vickie, your tag is wonderful. I've been struggling with one all day. Not done yet.
Lynn, hope your pain goes away soon. Don't worry about the housework though......I never do and I am painfree and healthy.

I'm watching an awesome video tutorial. However she is using centimeters for measurement. I've tried to use a conversion tool but I'm having problems figuring out the sizes in inches. She is scoring at 7 centimeters 14 centimeters 21 centimeters and 28 centimeters. Then she is cutting at 15 centimeters. Help!

maybe I should have told you the set she used is festive flurries and it was a box card. She links it to her blog for the YouTube video. If anyone has time to check it out and maybe convert some sizes for me I would love you for life!!

Helps a lot...thanks. if you watch the wonderful tutorial could you let me know what size paper she is using. I think I can figure out the sizes for the dp but I need to know what size paper she starts with. If you are still hurting too much, this can wait. I just ordered the festive flurry bundle today so it won't be here for about a week. I found the tutorial by going to the Stampin Up cards in and choosing the mini catalogue and choosing festive flurry. I think she calls it a box card but it's gorgeous and I'd like to make some for some friends.

Kathy, A4 paper is 8.3 by 11.7 inches. That's the standard size in the U.K.
It's raining, lightening and thunder here this morning, so I guess we don't go out for our morning walk.

We've had a few mild ground frosts already, but none of my annuals were affected. I did cover the tomatoes on those days. Now, it's 20 degrees and rainy. Ah well, we had some marvellous fall weather already. The fall colours are spectacular!

Ina, have you watched the tutorial I am talking about? I am wanting to get it figured out so I can make one, but I am not good at conversions....here is a link to the tutorial. STAMPIN UP UK INDEPENDENT DEMONSTRATOR MONICA GALE: Card in a box video tutorial Any help anyone can offer would be appreciated. I ordered the stamp and die set so it will be next week before it arrives and I am hoping to have all sizes figured before then.

Kathy, I did watch part of it this morning before I went out for breakfast. I will watch the rest and try to make note of the measurements. I love listening to her Welsh accent. I used to work with a gal with the same accent.

Yes, I loved her accent too! And the project is adorable but I was trying to figure out what the measurements would be in inches since I am a total dunce when it comes to metric....

Here in Canada we went metric after I was already working, so I know both systems. All my old cookbooks have equivalent measurements. I will do my best to let you know the exact measurements.

I am going to do NOTHING...last year I tried to celebrate and was sick the WHOLE month. This year I am going back to tried and true...IGNORE it! No actually grumpy and I are going out for Japanese when he has an afternoon off. My other friends have invited me to Thanksgiving..the other ones will just go out for coffee/tea on a day I am well. They are getting used to my medical limitations

What are you going to do?

Actually...talking about measurements...I love the cookbooks and recipes in Canada...why...cause they are in both metric or imperial. Most of the stuff at the grocery is metric...but the butcher will give you in pounds or KG. I forget when we converted...I was in school...Quebec converted...I learned...Moved to Ontario where it was imperial...then they converted...now...well we tend to talk in either.

I don't know. With the situation we have here of the Government Shutdown it has affected a lot of people's spending. I told my DH that there is a Rubber Stamp / Scrapbooking show here at the end of October - so maybe hat's when I'll get my "present" - & I'll do some shopping...

I've been working on the HYCCT challenges every day - I have a total of 8 cards made so far....
