Oh OK, you'll have to let me know how it turns out. I'm going to turn in early tonight since I was up till 1 am this morning due to my youngest DD's sleepover. I'm still not sure why they are called sleepovers since not much sleeping gets done! lol

It's ono and I stole all Mitch's skin from his chicken lol tender and juicy!!lol sleepover or slumber party? I think they changed the name from slumber party because they didn't want to scare the parents with the reality of the deed. Aka Party? Lol maybe it's they over sleeping and want to stay up and who can the longest? Lol

I tried commenting on several from each of you but I'm sure I won't get to all of them. Just about ready to start working. We are cooking and freezing corn today. 400 ears! We don't have as much help as we did last year. DH, mom, and I to start. Dad tries to help, but he husks and silks one to about my ten-15. But at least he's out there feeling like he's helping, and that's a good thing!

Victoria is not kidding about the slow mail from Hawaii! Five weeks my card took to get here!!!!!! We both learned how not to mail stuff on that one, lol.

I have never been able to eat curry, it upsets my stomach, but oh my does it ever smell good.

It's such a lovely day today. The mornings are just like Fall and the afternoon is like Summer. We were at 55 this morning. Now it's about 65 with a cool breeze, and around 3 it will hit 80. The best of both worlds!

Ann, I have received 12 BRAK cards! I didn't know so many ladies were in the RAK group. I know I send between 3 and 5 each month, but I didn't know the recipients' names overlapped that much. Whoohoo is it fun getting the mail!!!

Poor DH. He has the bathroom faucet torn apart and is on his hands and knees with his head stuffed inside the cabinet. I hear him muttering but I don't dare listen to closely.

My regular physician put me on a new medication yesterday, for sleeping problems due to anxiety. (My adult children and grandchildren are driving me batty). I have to take it at bedtime. Wow. I believe I made it through one chapter of my book before I had to put it aside. No dreams for a change, although I did wake up with a numb hand because of apparently sleeping on it. I've been up for four hours and still trying to get my eyes to open all the way, but it's only the first day. So far I'm pleased. Like you, Kathy, I don't remember the last time I got a good nights sleep, but a lot of mine is anxiety and hip pain.

Lots of views and no comments!

We have a fantastic group here that really supports one another!! Hugs to all of you!!
I think that most of the cards that don't get comments are those that are uploaded without benefit of some challenge. The really loyal challenge chasers are also pretty good about commenting on any challenge they enter. But even I have noticed that if I upload a random card (no challenge keyword), I may not get even 1 comment. It doesn't bother me much anymore, because I know that's just how it is. There are so many cards uploaded every day that it's just impossible to spend all your time commenting on every one. Lately, I've been pretty neglectful of putting comments out there. Sorry, ladies. I have found that with the alpha challenges, when we only had one thread, it was easy for me to click a link and leave a comment, but now with 2 threads, it means another thread I have to keep an eye on, and I find myself not doing it. I apologize for neglecting all your yummy cards.

The best way to comment on the Alpha challenges is to not always be looking at the thread.

When you have the time just go to the gallery and search using the keyword! And up pops all the wonderful cards for that challenge!

There is that!

Ann, do you think it would be possible for you to make the keywords in the chart a link once you've uploaded your card each week? That would be extremely helpful, at least to me.

Hello Ann,
The cardstock I use comes from Joann Fabrics- it is Coordinations 110 lb cardstock, but it feels more like 140 lb cs instead. 25 sheets sells for $4.99 and when they have 50% off sales then it is only $2.50 for 25 sheets. Gotta love that! Good luck! I hope you can find it! ~Karen.

I wish my Joanns carried Coordinations brand but they don't. Thanks for the link!

We bought several mums today to put out in the yard. They should open fully in a few days. Autumn is nearly here!

Hard to believe summer will be over in just a few short weeks!!

We either had hot and humid weather or it rained for much of the summer!!

My yard is still a mess, so much to do, never got the pool up for the grandkids!! Yikes!

I do not work out in the heat so things will have to wait!

SOS! Send help! We did over 500 ears of corn and I'm the main person cooking, cooling and cutting it off the cob! When the husking is over everyone leaves me! DH came back and helped some, but he cut his hand on the blade of the cutter. We got 107 very full quart bags. Last year we didn't do any because the corn crop was bad. Made up for it this year! But my back, hands, fingers and legs hurt terribly! Here's a picture of my cutter. I'm so glad we do this outside because I'm soooo sticky!

Ann, thanks so much for the suggestion of the stamp pads... I looked them up.. and saw some cute sets with stamps and pads my granddaughter might like, but I have so many stamps she can have/use. So I'll probably see if I can't find just the ink pads. If not, I may look into some of the other ones I mentioned... I think they are relatively cheap when they are on sale. Which would be nice... so I can get several colors.

Kathy, that is absolutely amazing! Oh your hands are going to hurt so bad. Would it help to rub Aspercreme or something on your hands to relieve the pain?

Hi Jennifer, Melissa and Doug does sell the ink pads separately. About $6 - $7

The kids just really like the smaller size stamps in their hands. I too have lots of stamps but they are not ready for the clear stamps. They only ones that I have on wood are larger stamps not easy for them to handle.

We've bought plants, got the week's groceries, and set out all the plants. Then we relaxed on the front porch a bit till it got dark. Now it's bedtime. Good night, everyone.

That is fabulous, Kathy. But I can see how you would ache when done. I've never done more than maybe 10-12 ears at a time, and I cut the kernels off with a paring knife. Does your cutter work easier than a knife?

Much better than a knife. Its faster. I place it in a pan, take an ear of corn and push it down the blade and continue around the cob until its clean. It also cuts the corn a little finer, which makes it easier for my mom to eat. She has trouble with bigger kernels. I handled hot ears though and burned them though. And you have to set the blade depth so you don't cut the palm of your hand, which DH did tonight. Luckily it wasn't a bad cut. I have two of these cutters and now he sees why one has "favorite" written on it! I have the depth set perfectly for me.

Which would be nice... so I can get several colors.
Here ya go Jennifer . Check those out.......
