"I love to singa, about the moona and the juna and the springa. I love to singa, about the sky so blue and ..............." Don't quite remember all of it and can't remember what cartoon it is from. I also like the one (maybe it's the same one) where the animal sings like Frank Sinatra and all the chickens swoon over him.
G'morning AlphaQueens. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend. I woke up with a scare this morning...I couldn't move my legs. But I took a deep breath, relaxed and just gave it a while and I could move them. Yay!!!! Nothing like having the willies scared outta of ya tho. Lauren, you are right. I do believe I have some depression going on...it's just the therapist said he doesn't feel we need to focus on that. He said my additude about it all is great and it helps that I am a spiritual person. He wants to teach me metitational prayer. He said this will help me to make the bad pain days not so bad. I told him I am all for that. I have never heard of this type of meditation so I am very interested. He said the fact that I can admit my feelings, is a great thing as well. I told him that I believe I cannot change it (the injury) so why let it bring me down. It may have put a kabosh on the physical part of my life but I will be dang nabbed if it's gonna take the emotional part of it too. kwim? Well ladies, Dawn's parents are due up today and I have an entire house to clean so I can't stay on long. I am loving allll the cards. Y'all are the bestest group of ladies ever!!!!!!!!
Oh and I forgot to say.....I was a tomboy growing up...my favorite cartoon was Batman. I loved the way they would put up the 'BAM' 'BOOM' 'POW'....it cracked me up. Plus I was a fighter as well so .... I love watching the fights. I know I was a terrible kid.
Good morning to all. I was up early and here it is 9 am already.. here does the time go.. Ok I need some help here.... My GD is having a 16th birthday and because I make cards they all expect that SPECIAL card.. For some reason, my head is blank!!! I need an idea... Now some of you have come up with some pretty unique Christmas ideas. I can't even remember what I did for the others when they reached that milestone.. (so it couldn't have been all that terrific.lol). She is a sweet girl full of fun.. etc. a cute saying or ---- ????
Hate when that happens!!!! Usually I start and bingo there is the idea!!!!
Here's the card I made recently for my DD's 18th birthday. It didn't get but one comment, so maybe it's not that great. However, it might spark something for making the card you need to make for 16th birthday. Hope it helps. I know how it is to be stuck.
BTW, she kept the card for awhile and then peeled off the oval with 18 on it and hung it up. I guess she's excited to be 18!!
Thanks Diane that does help... and Yes loosing a friend is hard.. I am still in that place of thinking that the friend I lost a while ago is just on a holiday and we can still get together and make some cards or go shopping.. Takes awhile to really for reality to set in.. It was nice of her family to give me some of her card stuff and is a comfort to be able to use it...
I have a huge favor to ask....does anyone have any of those flourish viney die cuts in white that they would be willing to share? And any fancy labels, large fancy squares or medium sized fancy rectangles as well in white? The reason I am asking is I need to make an example of a wedding invite that is in my head so I can show my niece. If she likes it then I will purchase the dies I need to make it. If you do have any of those things and you are willing to share with me please pm me for my address. Thank you ladies!!!!!!!!!
I haven't been on here since late Wed afternoon. I had finished 2 Z cards but then I had to go to my Mom's for dinner and then never got back on yesterday either.
Now I am going to have to go back and catch up on all the chatting since Wed night!
Jeri,
I loved your cards! Such zing with the bright, happy colors. The zig zag punch is fabulous and I hadn’t seen that one before. It leaves a touch of embossing behind, too. Pretty neat!
Well, I was in Michael’s last night, the MS punches were 40% off, ....I had a gift card,.... I saw the zig zag punch ….…. enough said. I now own a zig zag embossed border punch. Thanks Jeri for introducing me to that punch.
My Letter Z card is in the works. And I might just HAVE TO use my new punch on my Letter Z card. Don't you think? Hope you don’t mind Jeri. I’ll be CASEing you a little bit. You are an inspiration!
It’ll take me a couple days but I’ll be back with my card.
One of my favorite cartoons was Johnny Quest.
And Diane, don't look at the number of comments....people often don't take the time. I've been trying to do better. But even so, I don't have more than 10 comments on most any of my cards...
We are spending the day cutting wood (yes, still those trees from the bad storms). DH borrowed a wood splitter. My job is easy, I just push the hydraulic without cutting anyone's fingers off! So far so good. Actually the hard part is lifting that wood so DS is helping DH with that. We decided it was time for a break. The sun is hot and i don't have sunscreen so I put on a shirt with short sleeves...seems to be working. It will soon be time to back out....wwwaaaaa!!
Ladies, I made a mistake in my favor I said fancy tags....it's not tags I need ... it is fancy labels. I do not need them to be embossed....I just need the die cuts. Thanks If you look at my Z card...you will see the squares, flourishes...etc that I am talking about.
Thanks for the link Janet. Race Bannon was such a hunk for a cartoon character and I loved Bandit, the cute little pup.
We quit splitting wood for the day and DH is watching the little league world series game. He was looking so tired I told him enough is enough and the rest can wait for another weekend. He didn't even argue with me, so I know he is tired. He had cuts and blood all over him from the wood, but he just wipes it on his shirt (he's a man you know) and keeps right on working. I got my hand pinched bad once and babied it for a while. It's looking much better and it wasn't cut or anything. DH just dropped a piece of wood on my hand and I got pinched on the hydraulic lever. I'm a tough lady....
Dani, I think that IS a fancy tag in the middle. I have some flourishes and if you click on this link you can see what they look like. Click on the black and white picture to get a better idea of the actual die. I'd be happy to cut some for you if you let me know how many...I also have a lot of spellbinders dies: Lacy Squares, Fleur de Lis, Fleur de Lis Squares, just let me know how I can help.
I just found something yummy! I bought some Granny Smith apples for snacking but when I tried to eat one the other day, they were so tart. So then I figured instead of wasting them, maybe I could try a dip. So I bought some strawberry yogurt and used it as a dip....Yummy and good for me!
That does sound good!! I've had slices of Granny Smith apples with the fat-free / sugar free caramel dip (had at a party) - it tasted good. And the woman who brought it is a Cardiac RN.

LOLOL I didn't want to borrow him for hubby!! I meant hubby hurts so he won't be available to help me out with a massage tonight. I wanted nurse for me!
Hello ladies...well I did get quite a bit done. I did my laundry, cleaned and bleached the kitchen, cleaned and bleached my bathroom. I didn't do Dawn's because I think she can do that herself. I also dusted the front living room but ran out of dusting polish before I got to the back living room. So yes, I accomplished what I wanted to get done. Yes, I am hurting but at least I got done what I wanted to get done. Now it is rest on a heated rice pack time. I will talk to every one later. Huggs.
Have I told everyone how much I love this website and all my friends here? It's the only site I've ever been on that people aren't cussing and nasty....yes, I was visiting another site, not crafting, and it was nasty over there today. Makes me appreciate SCS sooooo much more! HUGS!!!
