A young businessman had just started his own firm. He had just rented a beautiful office and had it furnished with antiques. Sitting there, he saw a man come into the outer office. Wishing to appear the hot shot, the businessman picked up the phone and started to pretend he had a big deal working. He threw huge figures around and made giant commitments. Finally he hung up and asked the visitor, "Can I help you?"
Goodness, you girls are quick, 3 great cards. Love them all.
I was out and about today and a snowstorm arrived and I was was driving in a white out. How much fun was that but I did get my errands done.
Who has their baking done or even started? I will start mine soon.
I made a resolution last year to NOT wait until the day before Christmas to make cookies! I wanted them fresh and waited, and then tried to get them all done in one day. Never again!

I'm a Scrouge! I don't decorate, I don't bake, I have this year (first year in 40) sent cards. I must explain...since 1972 I have written a poem to tell all about the family. That was my Christmas card. I gave that up two years ago, it was picked up by the grandchildren. This year they didn't do it, nor did I. I know I'll get some flak about that. Too bad!
I live alone and I don't want the work of putting things up and then taking them down. I don't have Christmas here anyway.
Well, I don't bake You wouldn't eat it if I did. LOL I just steal what I can from my sister if she lets me. Last year she didn't let me We can't even put up a tree this year because we have this HUGE box in our living room keeping our cat from wandering the house. She got out while I was gone and broke her leg so bad they had to remove the ball joint and splinter the leg. We have to keep a good eye on her because of the cast. We are hoping she doesn't lose the leg.
My grandkids are not going to understand why. And my oldest because it is just him and his daughter always come here for xmas morning because he doesn't have a tree!?!?!?!!? and because he thinks it is more fun to have alot of people around when opening presents. I think so too. And now that my middle son is single he will probably be doing the same thing and grandma and grandpa can't even put up a tree
Bev, I don't blame you. I am usually a scrooge too. The only reason I do put up a tree is for the reasons above. If I had my way, we wouldn't have one. Well, maybe a tiny one. Ours is soooooooo huge it's a pain to put up. It's beautiful when done but I too hate taking it down. So......I don't blame you.

Ok, spoke too soon, husband is right now zooming to the animal hospital because he thinks she has rebroken the casted leg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh man!!!! How.......she has tunneled her way out of her prison and we found her at the bottom of the basement steps last night. But she didn't show any signs of being hurt. You take your eyes off her for one minute and she is gone. That is how she got out and got hurt to begin with. Geesh are cats that dumb that they don't learn???????

I have five kids that trade off hosting holidays and we all bring food. When I was young I took classes for candy making, you know, the fancy stuff. Then when the girls got older I taught them. Now they do it all and I don't have too.
It is a 24 hour job taking care of her not to mention having the 2 grandchildren here every day. I need another vacation.................

LOL Kathy,when he is on #9, I don't think you will have to worry about it anymore anyway. LOL I don't know how many ours has left. I think it is 7 still Well, she is back, my husband panicked for nothing. I said he should have just had her leg amputated in he first place, but he wants to spend thousands (that we don't have mind you) to do whatever he can to save the leg. He is such an animal lover, not that that is a bad thing but I swear, you give him a pet rat and he will love it.
Donna, your DH sounds like mine. He had a really long thought about neutering our cat and then spent lots of money on the cat before we put it (the cat, not my DH) down.

I don't consider myself a scrooge, but I'm not putting a tree up either. I may put a tabletop tree up but still not sure about that either. My home is so small and things get disrupted when I decorate and with DS's both grown, they don't care one way or the other. I'm not even having a big meal, well I am making a meal, but just for DH and I and the others can have sandwiches from the leftovers whenever they come...nothing sit down. I'm relaxing this year!
Good for you Kathy, It gets to be too much when you decorate your whole house and then have to take it all down and store it all. I don't have the room either. My sister is just the opposite and she calls me a scrooge every year. I am getting too old to put up and take down. Where is that cabana boy anyway? Someone is hogging hime!!!
No decorations here either this year as I am going away.. Last year My GD came and put them up as she was so upset that I was not going to do so...lol but then again she was not here when it was time to put them away!!!!
I do not do any baking anymore either unless I have to take something for some event. Almost am forgetting how anymore lol.

But I did not finish my different opening card or a card for Vicki from her list, naughty bad Lauren...... just feeling flat, must have been in the way of that steam roller!!
Hmm... sounds like everyone has plans for Christmas!
I think my DH & I will have a quiet Christmas this year. I'll be spending this Saturday with Special Olympics for Bowling Tournament, then going to a friend's home for a Christmas Party. I had 2 other Christmas Parties that I went to this week. After this week, it will settle down.

The following is an ad from a newspaper which appeared four days in a row - the last three hopelessly trying to correct the first day's mistake.
MONDAY:
For sale: R. D. Jones has one sewing machine for sale. Phone 948-0707 after 7 P.M.. and ask for Mrs. Kelly who lives with him cheap.
TUESDAY:
Notice: We regret having erred In R. D. Jones' ad yesterday. It should have read "One sewing machine for sale cheap. Phone 948-0707 and ask for Mrs. Kelly, who lives with him after 7 P.M."
WEDNESDAY:
Notice: R. D. Jones has informed us that he has received several annoying telephone calls because of the error we made in the classified ad yesterday. The ad stands correct as follows: "For sale -- R. D. Jones has one sewing machine for sale. Cheap. Phone 948-0707 after 7 P.M. and ask for Mrs. Kelly who loves with him."
THURSDAY:
Notice: I, R. D. Jones, have no sewing machine for sale. I intentionally broke it. Don't call 948-0707 as I have had the phone disconnected. I have not been carrying on with Mrs. Kelly. Until yesterday she was my housekeeper, but she has now quit.

Donna, I am so sorry to hear about your cat. You said if your husband had a rat he would love it; the girl that lives with us Dawn, she used to raise rats. She hugged and cuddled with them and everything. However, the ones that she didn't get attached to got fed to the snake. I know eeewwww. So..what is everyone doing this evening? I have a doc appt this afternoon so my evening is pretty much shot. Dani, glad you are doing better.
Donna, so sorry to hear about your cat; this is why I/we have no more pets, get too attached to them and then, wham, something happens and I can't take the emotion. Just keeping up with all my children (ha! sounds like a soap opera! LOL) and all my grandkids and their antics about does me in sometimes!
I have my GREEN image colored, just have to come up with a card layout. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon so probably won't "git r done" today.
I have lots of G ideas, but just no mojo right now.
Christmas...I used to go all out with the decorating, but for the past 4 years have only put up a small tree that already has lights on it! We no longer have family Christmas at our house, rather we go to my youngest DD house since oldest DD and middle DD live out of state. BahHumBug, that's how I feel right now.
Does someone have a list of alpha Girls names, addresses, and birthdates they would share with me? If so, please PM to me, please. I would love to send some Christmas cards and birthday cards when the occasion arises.
Need to start my day, so going to brew a pot of coffee, fix breakfast, take some meds, and hope I can come up with a card for the G image before I leave for doctor appointment.

I feel the same way, Bah hum bug! But I have no room to store everything for every occasion and I hate taking everything down. My neighbor offered me a small table top tree, so I am going to take her up on it.
I know I still need to make more G cards but I too have no mojo today, can hardley keep my eyes open right now.
