Bradley's_mom, if you lived in Canada, I could send you some of my funny little cards and you could make them into regular cards (emboss and adhere).....see my gallery. But i'm afraid it would take too long to mail them to the U.S.
I failed. The good part is-I don't need any birthday cards for Feb. The bad part-we have to make Valentine's-between the two kids that is 50 Valentine's (I think I need a sick day).
Never a failure, kiddo! LIfe gets in the way. And with 2 kids, that is inevitable
Make them simple and get the kids to help. They love to glue!
I had so many birthdays in January and now I don't need anything for February. I did make a bunch of Valentines cards that I need to upload for this month. I just don't have anyone to send them to!
Depending on the design of them... a local Ronald McDonald House, Hospital or senior center/ convalescent home would be great places to share them!
Debbie, those girls are adorable! I'm in the same boat as you, my three grandsons live in Austin Texas, and I am in Ontario, Canada, not too far from Toronto. I fly down to see them 3-4 times a year, so I don't know how many miles it actually is. However, this year, after I retire, I hope to drive it once and stay down there longer than the one week, which has been my custom.
Also, this year, I am going to get a Canadian grandson (beginning of May) and for the first 10 months of his life, he will be living about 10 miles away from me. After that, he'll be going back to Ottawa, which is a 5 hour drive.
Hey, Ina - I know how many miles it is between my house and Austin! About 150 or about a 3 hour drive.

Val, I think it may be a little less than that, because my son lives in north Austin, right across I-35 from Pflugerville. Maybe on my next trip, I might take a drive up the highway, seeing as all the kids are in school in the daytime now. Maybe I can take you out for a coffee!

I think I'd go buy some stickers and suckers. I'd let the kids slap the stickers on the suckers and call it good!
My last kid went off to college this fall. Man, it feels good not to have to make stuff or sell stuff for school!!! Of course, now we just shell out the BIG $$$$ for college.

They have now decided that they want store bought Valentine's. I can't say my heart is broken because I did get the new stamps. Older ds asked if we could make the bookmarks for his birthday and hand them out with his birthday treat next month at school. Younger ds picked out Toy Story Valentine's for his friends and Transformers for his big brother. But I still want to make a few to send out-better get cracking!
Sharon, good for you! I didn't get a chance to play along. Well, actually, I didn't feel like cleaning off my desk so I could play. I'm being a lazy stamper, I know.
Wow! What a wonderful surprise. Tonight's the first time I've been here in a few weeks so this was really special!
Hey girl! I had hoped to finish putting the envelopes together today so I could mail them on Tuesday but migraines have been plaquing me for the better part of a week.
Sorry I've been MIA. 2 reasons. 1, I've been having migraine issues the past couple of weeks. So not fun. 2nd, Bob came home on Wed. the first weekend he's home is always crazy.
I will get you guys all caught up this week. We are to have ice in here tonight/ tomorrow so not sure I'll have internet. Then we're leaving for a couple days for a Valentine get-away.
Keep working on your cards! I'll check in as soon as I can.
I have been mulling this around in my head since I posted the challenge - LOL!!!
I don't have to make my decision until Friday afternoon when I FINALLY get back in my craft room......I hate that sometimes I'm so busy that it is days (sometimes a week or two) before I get down there to play....AND just last week my SU order and a bling order were delivered!!!!! UGH!!!!
The Best Blossoms I just used on my Pam 2012 card was one of those stamp sets. It's so funny that you came up with this challenge right after I did that card. I might use Bareback stamp set with an OSW I cut and have ready to go. My DD and oldest DGD would love that set of cards.

I thought of that card as soon as I saw Carol's challenge!
I sure am glad I "unintentionally" made those 3 cards. One went to my sister for her birthday. One of them was used as a sympathy card for a lady who was very involved with the library over the years. She passed away last week. The third one is going to be another sympathy card. A coworker infomred us this morning that two of her sons were in a terrible accident (I don't know yet if it was a car accident or a dog sledding accident). One of the boys was killed and the other is in critical condition. I pray he pulls through.
Well, I haven't done any better about making cards for my occasions so far this year, but at least I am using the ones out of my stash instead of hoarding them. I had planned to 2 valentines and one birthday. So far I have sent 3 valentines and a thinking of you card. Still have to send the birthday one.
My nephew had a close call this week too. He is stationed in Afghanistan and his vehicle ran over a bomb Tuesday. He only has minor injuries. The other guy in the vehicle was airlifted out. We've been saying lots of prayers for both of them this week.
Oh, geez. That's so sad...I don't know how you cope with losing your child...and possibly two. Sending thoughts and prayers your way...
I found out this morning that the second one was treated and released from the hospital yesterday. At least that is one less thing for the family to contend with.

Angie, I will pray for them, too. Your nephew is one lucky man.

So sorry to hear of all the bad happenings....I missed a lot by not being on-line last evening!
Angie, by any stretch of the imagination, is the other soldier who was in the vehicle in Afghanistan named Timothy? A son of a missionary family that our church supports was seriously injured in an IED blast. He was airlifted out to Germany and is now at Walter Reid Hospital. He lost both his legs and severely inured his right arm. People all over the world have been praying for him and he is doing amazingly well, considering the circumstances. There is a facebook group page dedicated to him called 'Praying for Timothy Donley'. The family appreciates lots and lots of prayers. If you feel so inclined, please pray for him. He has a long road of recovery ahead, both physically, emotionally and spiritually. Thanks ladies.

Oh, that is so scary. Lucky for him he was only injured. We have a man from our church who went to Afghanistan as a civilian worker. Not sure what he is doing, but I'm really concerned all the time for him being there. I'm sure he's living in some type of civilian compound, but it is still a dangerous place to be.

How tragic, but glad that he has a positive outlook. Will be sending up prayers for him and his family.

WOW some really sad stuff going on, I couldn't imagine losing a child.
I had a nephew the same age as me, he died when we were 25. That was so tramatic for me. i can't imagine how my sister felt.
So sad!
Good news about the 1 going home.

Thank God! I can not imagine losing one child, much less two.

Never saw either of them run so fast!
Aren't those lasers fun? I got a laser level for my son-in-law last Christmas, but he uses it more to drive his two cats wild!
