Omgosh, what funny stories re: HOW I GOT MY POSTING NAME! Sue, my bff from high school was born on 10/31 and has always disliked it greatly. When she was little, everyone was out T or Ting and could never come to her bday party or would show up super late with a costume on, lol!

My is pretty self explanatory - I'm a mom of 4, LOVE LOVE LOVE the beach and am there a lot, seeing as how I live practically on it When the kids were little, we'd build sandcastles so I wanted to incorporate that into my blog title - stamper for me, sandcastles for them ♥

Yep, I've tricked a lot of people (unintentionally) into thinking I'm a rugged outdoorsy type of woman. Nothing could be further from the truth. I dealt with allergies a lot as a youngster (still do; but they aren't nearly as bad now). I was so sick - sometimes literally deathly sick. My allergies were often airborn - dust in the air, especially if we lived near a rock quary - crops in the field (corn and soy beans are two of my worst), mold - if we lived near a water body (river, lake)... so I think my mom tended to keep me inside - where, by the way, there was NEVER a speck of dust. EEK! My mom is the housecleaner extraordinaire, unlike her daughter.
Jeantte I feel for you allergies stink..... I've always had a touch of seasonal ones, but the last few years I've suffered with some worse ones even had to go through all the pokes and prodes of allergy testing (not fun!!) Only to find I have a very slight allergy to dust and mold which my Dr said most adults do!!! So now they just mess around with allergy meds to see what works best for me.

Kelly, congrats on the DT and I love your bunny card

Paula, I love the pop up card, never would have thought to use that dcwv paper with that image but it looks so great with it.

I stink at making up questions or I would post one for today, I'll have to try and think of one for tomorrow. I did make a few card yesterday I will try to post them. I made tea bag holder cards. 6 of them!!!

Oh Tammy... those cards are so cute! And what a treat for the recipient. She can sip a cup of tea as she thinks about how sweet you are!

I'm sorry you've grown into some allergies! UGH! Usually, if anything it goes the other way - some people fortunately outgrow them.

Thank you Sue!
Tammy glad to see your finished your tea bag holders and are now finished with 100 projects.
I just counted all my projects completed thus far, granted the gift tags are easy but still a bit time consuming for the ones that have homemade flowers, and I have completed 178 projects. That's like a world record for me and I still have a mini book and several 3D projects half finished. Woo hoo, thanks so much Pansy! I can't believe how productive I have been! I am so stinkin impressed. It will take me a while to blog and post and that is a good feeling.

Arrow Jeanette - Card #94

Today's card was for one I made for the Calendar Girl Blog Group's monthly challenge. We were to use a particular sketch, one button, and the color purple.

You know, I just realized I disappeared from this thread, and never posted an explanation. Shame on me! It's just because it's been pretty crazy busy since February 4th. I work full time, and have 4 kids - 4, 10, 13 and 14. (The 4 yr. old is our foster son we got 10 months ago and will be adopting in May). Well, on February 4th we got a call asking if we could take a 6 month old and a 5 year old. I THOUGHT it would only be for a couple of days, so I said, "Sure!" Let's just say that I enrolled the little girl (who just turned 6) in school yesterday, so ... Oh, and did I mention that they have 3 visits a week with their parents that we need to coordinate, they've had doctor's visits at least once a week since I got them? I'll be 52 in a few months, and believe me when I say I never in a MILLION years planned on having 6 kids at my age. lmbo Hopefully these latest 2 will be able to go home with their parents sometime in the near future, but then again, I thought they'd only be here 2 days. Anyway, sorry about the rambling. I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed reading the posts on this thread, and drooling over all the gorgeous cards you ladies have done. One of these days I intend to go in the gallery and take up where I left off leaving comments and admiring all the craftiness.

Happy birthday Kelly!

Great cards everyone!

In St. Louis with my mom for the weekend. I think this afternoon she and I are going to make up some cards for her. I stamped her a bunch of images way back when and she painted them, so time to make them up now.

Sue, you have me wanting to try that pop up box. Nice work!!!

I hope you snapped a pic or two of your Mom's work Angie. What paint medium does she use? Watercolor?

Oh Pansy, I am sure you are exhausted! We will hold down the fort while you are away. Don't worry about us. There is more than enough time to pray for Brody and the medical staff.

I have more gift card holders made up and posted here .

I'll pose a few more questions since we are behind on the question of the day.

1. How did you learn about SCS, what made you stay and why?

2. How did you get started paper crafting and why do you do it?

Paula, great questions! I found out about SCS when I was on ebay and bought a stamp set, LOL! The lady who sold it SMARTLY left a link in the sale page to SCS, whom I'd never heard of. Holy Smokes, when I followed that link ...... I was here for DAYS!

I have been paper crafting since I was at least 15. I'd scrapbook EVERYTHING! Even before it was 'in' and nothing could be bought - I would make my own out of old leather bound photo albums and use construction paper (now we have cardstock and dsp!) I would save movie tickets, napkins, take pictures, etc and create s/b pages. As I got into motherhood, 20 years later, it was a huge fad and stamping had been introduced .......... which I learned visiting a friend who was stamping images onto cardstock from a SU! set. I didn't know what on earth it was, but I was intrigued. I stamped with her and was hooked!

Pansy, hugs and prayers!

Hugs for all! I'm a post birthday high and am just really ready to crash, but there is too much sand in my house!!!!

Hello ladies...it is a beautiful Spring day here in TX.......

Paula love your gift card holders...very pretty.... Try the pop up box it is not as hard as it looks and much fun...

I found out about SCS in 2005 right after I moved to TX from FL, I found an SU demo close by and she introduced me to SCS....I've stayed because I love being able to get ideas from others and for different stamp sets. I have joined several groups over the years and found some awesome freinds.
I'm kinda like Kelly been scrapbooking since I was a teenager (and I'm a LOT older than Kelly) when it was the old leather albums you taped all your memorabilia in. I actually still have one I did for my daughter. So in 1998 when my SIL introduced me to stamping and the new scrapbooking it did not take long for the addiction to set in. I just love being creative & stamping, scrapbooking has moved to the back burner for now, however I really need to get back to it. In fact that might be my goal for the 2nd round of 100 X 100. Sorry did not meant to write a book....

Learned about SCS when I was a SU demonstrator, it was mentioned in several people's posts so I asked my son to help me figure it out because I am not (more by choice than stupidity) computerized. He did...then I shared it with one of my customers who is really good on the computer...

She took off like crazy...

I couldn't jump in for a long time...my son helped me look at cards in the gallery...

It didn't click for me...but it did for him.

Eventually I got into a group of Flybabies and my friend would help me each day with posting...I mastered that!!!!

When my son moved away from home I reclaimed the stamp room and have enjoyed my own style of card making which is completely different than his!

I became a SU demonstrator to support his habit...purchased a lot of stamps thinking they were something he would use...but I didn't understand how images have to go with personalities...his and mine are different...made for a LOT of unused stamps!

How's that for a chapter in my book of life?

Hi all! Wow what a weekend it has been at our place. Home, hospital, kids home to care for their dog and wash up baby clothes....
Brody has had ups and downs all weekend. He was doing well and then midnight last night he took a downward turn and they put him on a ventilator to help remove the carbon dioxide in his lungs/body. Thankfully today just about an hour ago they removed the ventilator and he is holding his own and was able to take 5 cc's of his momma's milk....the doctor and nurses teasingly told her she needed to spend the night standing at his little bed thing and hold his hand. when she does that his Oxy saturation goes up where they want it and his other numbers stay where they belong.....when she has to leave they sometimes go down......she said she didn't mind doing that at all......Hopefully he will continue the upward trend....right now we can't even hold him due to all the sensors, wires and tubes...stroking his little feet and holding the one hand without any IV's in it is all we can do......he is also on the jaundice light and is a perfect little glowworm.

Since I am too wound up to sleep I will answer Paula's questions also
1. I heard about SCS from my first demo..She kept mentioning that she "found" the idea for the projects we made on SCS....I finally got her to tell me what it was and that was the beginning of fun time on line.
2. I think I have always made things from paper,,,,simple origami as a kid, other types of stuff but as an adult I discovered stamping and it just exploded the world of paper crafts for me.

Pansy, prayers and hugs to Brody and family sounds like he's going to be a strong one, fighting from the get go!

Sue, I agree wit Paula I so wanna try to make one of those pop up boxes. Just need to make time to do it.

Time to answer those questions: #1. I learned about SCS from our own Paula (laughingstamper) she told me all about it and after lurking I finally joined and then lurked some more and then my first official doing anything was in this group and this 100 in 100 challenge.

#2 I think I've been addicted to paper my entire life.. I've always saved ticket stubs, magazine articles, newpaper clippings, ect, and tapped them in old alblum with construction paper and stuff. Then in 2001 when pregnant with my second child my sister in law had a Creative Memories party and ask me to come and I guess you can say I was hooked and the rest is history... it started my long obessesion with paper and other paper products or added too LOL!!!!! That is why I need a 12x12 step program!!!!!

Loving these questions............this is so much fun. Love hearing everyone's stories.

Kelly, Happy Belated Birthday so sorry I missed it, so wish I was dealing with sand, I had SNOW when I woke up this morning!!!! yucky!!

To make me feel more like Spring even though we have yucky Snow I made croched roses and leaves for Paula's blog challenge, I just need to figure out how to post them over there I will try to post a pics here and in the gallery hope ya all like them. I made about 14 roses so far, they are very addictive, I sit and make them constantly, I just can't stop....LOL. That makes my project total to 125 now. woo hoo!! Hug to all and hope you are all staying crafty.

Good Morning Ladies!

I have been off the computer all weekend so I am behind... but I will catch up with commenting. EEK! (Fortunately my cards were made and my blog posts scheduled so my goal has not been affected.

Pansy, I am glad little man Brody is holding his own. I am praying he improves steadily! That being said, I'd like to tell his nurses a thing or two! What an awful thing to say to a new mother - it's like heaping guilt on her for when she has to leave even for short periods of time. Granted Brody knows her and wants her near - and she wants to be there!!! But they didn't need to make her feel like if she isn't there he won't do well. (Okay, I'll step off my soap box... sorry!)

BTW, Pansy, "our girl" has been contacted by 2 more school districts.

Tammy, oh my goodness, those flowers are BEAUTIFUL!

Sue, your cards are so pretty, too! I especially like the Card in a Box one. I'm still not brave enough to try to make one.

Paula, great questions! And ladies, I've loved reading all of your stories! Each one is so interesting, and I feel like I'm getting to know you even better, as well as having had the chance to get to know Faye's DS.

I found out about SCS by searching for some ideas for creating cards (google is my friend).... and I stay because this is where my online friends are! Sure, I love the inspiration I get from the gallery and the fun I have participating in swaps and challenges... but the friendships are what are most important to me on SCS!

I got involved in stamping because a friend of mine always sent me the prettiest handmade cards and I wanted to learn how she did that... so I asked. She and I no longer lived close, so we couldn't meet and stamp together, but by learning her craft of choice, I felt closer to her even though distance separated us. I love this hobby!!!
