Thanks for all the kind comments on my cards I made so far. I made another one today but didn't scan and post it as it was to send an anonymous donation to an old high school friend that is disabled and getting extremely worried about the oil that is running low. Once January is over, I hope to have more time to make cards. Getting ready for taxes always makes me crazy as I have to do it for 3 businesses and my own personal ones! But at least I have one more made and I forgot that I made another one at the beginning of the week to send for my ex FIL's birthday....

Productive day. Little stuff like resetting the clock in the kids' bedrooms that have been off for a long time to big stuff like half of DD's science fair project (experiment done, some of the presentation). Then a miracle occurred and DH took the kids out for 45 minutes so I knocked out four cards. They came from a kit but I still count them because a) it's four cards and b) I didn't do what the kit demanded (didn't love it). I have also listened to the Frozen soundtrack approximately 10 times today and even though it is spectacular, I feel like I deserve some sort of special award for that. DD wants a family game night tonight so might not to get to the gallery or crafting but I loves me some family games night, even if I always lose at Hungry, Hungry Hippos.

I spent 30 minutes tidying up the craft room the other night so now I am up to 1/22 by my count!

Jen your cards are so pretty! I think it's impressive that you got four made!

Lela, I left love for you on your card.

Ladies, I'm going to be gone the next two days and am not taking my computer with me. I'll pop in when I get back home and will catch up on commenting then. My cards for the next two days are made and my blog posts are scheduled.

I have to admit, I was inspired by this "challenge" since I'm traveling for work and needed an "easy" way to get cards done. I'm so happy I pulled these out of the stash and using the products. I found some other kits I purchased and never finished so super excited to use those eventually in our challenge as I have more travel to accommodate.

For sure, Lela! I know what you mean! I live out of my car some days with taking the kids back and forth to school(s) and I've learned to color at the waiting stops, LOL!

One more card today with the OWH sketch 307. Can you tell I really like that sketch? I promise, I'll move one (eventually ).

Card 17 - Thank You

I don't craft very quickly. Even with a sketch selected I take forever to make up my mind about papers and colors. But I'm enjoying the process and using up my some of my stash and that's the whole point of the challenge.

Not looking forward to the next arctic blast coming our way this week. I know some of you are probably going to be colder so I can't complain too much, but wind chills are supposed to make it feel like -15 for the middle of the week. How do people survive where this is the "norm" for winter weather?

Current temp is Minus 17, windchill factor Minus 43...

How to survive...stay inside, thankful that the furnace works...if you have to leave the house be thankful there is an attached garage which keeps the temp a few degrees higher...

When you get home you're thankful that you didn't have car troubles on the road!

Repeat cycle as often as needed until the weather warms...at least at this cold it doesn't snow!

Great cards!!

How old are your kids? Now that we have 2 boys a 3 and 5 year old , its hard for me to know what games I should get. Any suggestion will be helpful.

Thanks

Mine are 5 and 8. The 5 year old is finally getting the concept of games. We almost always modify the rules to keep things moving. Here are some suggestions (I have focused on those that our younger kid can/will play):

- Spot it (new favorite)
- Slamwich
- Phil Up Chuck
- Uno Moo
- Feed the Kitty
- Honey Bee Tree
- Hungry Hungry Hippos
- Mousetrap (we just build the machine and make it go, don't really play the game)
- Classics like Hi Ho Cherry-O, Sorry, Chutes & Ladders and Candyland. Also Go Fish and Old Maid.

I might have one or two more to suggest but am at work so can't go check the game cupboard. You should be able to Google any of those.

Good luck and have fun!

Well, I woke up to a cold house and no heat on the first floor Sat. morning. We are still having unseasonably frigid temps for this area. I hate it!!!!!!!!!! I have not been outside for over a week. I am thankful for full spectrum lighting!!! I have been cleaning and crafting. I hope to post soon but the internet or lack thereof has been giving Me all sorts of fits! I will try to catch up and go look at your pics.
Thanks for the kind comments!

OMG out with no hat or gloves? Men, am I right?

Sue, those are pretty. I like the blue best because of the color scheme, but I'm dying over the sunburst in different papers on the second. How do you make that?

Paula, do you mean those really bright white lamps? I have a huge white light that even emits … something... with the push of a button? Osmosis? Sounds like it is spraying water on me. Whenever I turn it on, even though it is blinding, the cat perches right in front of it. He's an inside cat, so I guess he thinks it's sunlight?

And meanwhile in the west, we seem to be having no winter in all. Way behind on snowfall (or rain if you live in California) and above average temps. I'm not saying this to brag, it's just a weird winter all around.
