Gorgeous cards, Jeanette!

Ive gone through the gallery but will continue to go through ones I might have missed. I will look through the gallery as it's so much easier than trying to open blogs - great work, ladies!

okay guys... half of us are using a keyword that looks like this:

2014 100 X 100

and the other half of us are using one that looks like this:

100 X 100 2014

( I am using this one bottom one, it was the one I think Pansy wanted us to use)
but, I am thinking if you are using another one this could be why you may not be getting as much love in the gallery if the card is not in the same grouping as the others when we turn it on.
sometimes I click blog links but, mostly I look at the gallery also to save a little time.

ETA you know what... I think the gallery mods are taking pity on us and grouping those cards together. so ignore me.

Post one says:

KEYWORD: 100 x 100 2014

How nice of the mods to take good care of people!

JCI. Nothing to post. Spent the weekend craft time sewing. I bought flannel to make the family matching PJs over a year ago and since it was my birthday Saturday, treated myself to a sewing day. I have finishing touches left, which I plan to finish tomorrow. The big coup is I went to JoAnn's to pick up elastic, bias tape, thread and interfacing and I left with elastic, bias tape, thread and interfacing. Thanks to this challenge!!!!

GOOD MORNING!

Hi everyone! It took me awhile to catch up here after reading several pages of posts. I wasn't on SCS at all this weekend. Spent a lot of time working on cards for a swap that needs to be mailed today. Still have some finishing to do on those cards. I did take some peaks at your wonderful, inspiring creations! I hope to be able to catch up around here and make some comments later on. Also I haven't uploaded anything to my blog or the gallery so I'm really behind on that.

I've only made two cards so far. I am going to blame YOU LADIES. Yep. I start to look at all the beautiful cards everyone is making, and it seems like I blink and hours have gone by! lol Also, it's making it very, very hard not to buy anything. I keep seeing lovely sets from ODB (Jeanette!) and Riley sentiments (Kelly!) I "need". There were others too, but I'm doing my best to erase them from my mind.

Okay, gotta get back to work now (since it's what pays for my habit. lol). Have a wonderful week everyone.

Thanks for the positivity. I went to bed last night warm and feeling full of love. It was like God was comforting me many times over. I cried myself to sleep, but with happy tears, of gratitude and love.

Really bad when you quote yourself...but...after I hit submit I thought maybe I could ask a question here...and actually get an answer!!!

Does anyone remember long, long ago...probably 2008...there was a way to fold a piece of writing paper so that it was like an accordion inside a 3x3 card?

When you opened the card the piece of paper opened and you could write a real letter inside the card...

I'm looking for directions on how to do that...I made several long, long ago...and would like to make them again...

I have posted a sunflower card .Hope you like it. I needed a card like this with all of the overcast doldrums of winter.

I have a question for you shutterbugs. The last few pics I have taken of my cards excluding this one, have had shiny elements on them and I don't know if there is anything else to do about the glare. I am using a Cannon Rebel T3i and have yet to master it and don't use point and shoot. I actually use manual mode. I am able to reduce glare but still not happy with all the pics. I use full spectrum lighting and paper or cloth as a background. I don't have a light box and don't know that I have the space for it if I had one. I like to use my large covered front porch to take pics but with the weather it hasn't been a good solution lately. I get the best pics of my cards there. Any other suggestions.

Whoops! I am one of those guilty of the 2014 100 x 100! I'll be sure to change it from now on

I just uploaded card #18 !

Some of my cards are out of order due to not being able to post them at the time I did these last week and had to add ones that could be shown

Paula,,,,since you are using a Canon camera, the pop up flash may be popping up and doing its thing even when you don't ask it to.......Try popping it up on purpose and lay a facial tissue(white) over it...it will diffuse the light and might solve the problem. Another thought is to check the position of the overhead lights in the room....turn those off and just use your supplemental lighting and see what happens.

have you ever looked at wish rak inside the RAK group? ( its a way to get some samples of stamped images or cardstock colors to try before you buy them for yourself...???)

and it would keep you from going shopping if you tried it maybe, you find people to play fairy god mother to and then you earn wishes to spend on things you'd like to try... ( not saying anyone has what you'd wish for but, its a possibility)

Stacy, I wouldn't mind playing fairy godmother to people at all. I've never looked at the wish rak. I would be so nervous about sending stamped images to people. I would be so concerned about stamping them perfectly, cleanly, evenly. I'd drive myself crazy. I think I'd rather send them the stamp with a stamped, self-addressed return envelope.

I sent in a request to join or be approved for the RAK group Saturday morning, after I noticed it in someone's post or signature line. I think it was purpleflowers, and she mentioned someone wanting/needing something or other. (I could be mixed up though.) As far as I know I haven't been approved it it yet. It's only been a couple days, and requests are processed bi-weekly. Don't know if that's twice a week, or every two weeks. Thinking it's every other week, if it's like payroll.

Pansy, you know the Canon. I keep the flash turned off and rarely use it.I never use it when shooting my cards. It's too yellow for my liking I struggle between elimiating shadows behind the card and glare with shiny objects on the card. I guess I need to look at the angle more or try tissue over the ott bulbs. I played with that in the past and couldn't tell a difference. Is there any type of filter or anything that might help? I keep a UV filter on the lens to protect it from knocks. I was hoping for a magic bullet. Thanks for the suggestions.

Kelly,You're more than welcome in my craft room. We're coming to your house next for alcohol marker lessons! Kevin's method with the stampscapes is a walk in the park compared alcohol markers. Really! The learning curve was only about a day. Alcohol markers still give me fits some days. You just can't see my trash can!

Really! The learning curve was only about a day. Alcohol markers still give me fits some days. You just can't see my trash can!
Woohoo, house guests! I'll get the Cabana ready so ya'll can head down, sit by the pool, enjoy the sunshine and color from our new teacher Paula!!

I actually did a class, and didn't learn a thing I still get the bleeding part when using the couple of spectrum noir (sp?) that I have. Even though I just barely go to the edge of the line. I actually use prismas and LOVE them - so I figure why switch!

Off to visit and leave some love!

You're so sweet!! I don't think you have anything to worry about. I know several ladies in that group, you will do fine - they are wonderful!!!!!!!

Stacy, beautiful cards. I couldn't find the link, but you'll be happy to know a company came out with a roller brush thingee made especially to get the paper pieces out of dies like that. I was so excited when I saw it. I'll try and find the link. (A friend posted it on FB.)

Yesterday got 30 minutes of tidying in and made two gift notes from stuff in the "use this up, please!" pile. They are 3x3 and I use this size a lot with gifts. So by my count, that only gets me caught up to the 7th. Hope to do something similar today!

Paula, tried to leave a comment on your last card, but there was a banner add across the bottom blocking the comment box. And there was no "x" to close it. Very worried now, because this happened a couple weeks ago, and it got so bad I had to come have my IT guy come and wipe my computer. Uh oh...

P.S.: I was going to say ... looking at your cards has made me "happy, happy, happy". So cheerful and sparkly!

GOOD AFTERNOON!

Spending the day working on cards. Tomorrow getting together with my Lunch Bunch ladies. It will be a birthday celebration for three of us who have birthdays in January so I need to get 2 cards made.

One of these days I'll get all these cards uploaded to my gallery.
