ok - I'm still gonna do this.

I'm slowly working on my organizing. It's a good thing I didn't say I would make one card per day! I'm more likely to make ten cards in one sitting.

I have a short work day today - so I'm going to try to get a bit more of my crafting supplies organized so I can sit down tomorrow and actually accomplish something. I'm looking forward to testing out the new lamp that I got for Christmas.

This is the lamp I got - lamp - I didn't ask for anything specific, and that is what my mother picked. Does anyone have one of these??

Lighting in my living room is minimal, especially at night in the winter so I wanted a small lamp just for card-making and jigsaw puzzles when I don't want to be in the colder basement.

OK - I've rambled enough! Time to motivate! Have a great weekend everyone!!

Nancy Jo, you'll have to tell us how you like the lamp your mom got you. I can't tell you the number of times I've almost bought that exact lamp at JoAnn's over the past 2-3 years and always end up talking myself out of it. I'm always afraid if I purchase it I will be disappointed and then will think of all the other things I could have done with that $$$.

NancyJo, I dont have that particular Ott light but I do have two flip up ones on my table the space we have over our garage is where my stamps live and its an 500 sq. foot room so it has two windows but, the way the ceiling lights hang they are not in a good spot no matter where I put my table so I have those little lights on the table and a couple of the larger floor lamps I was lucky enough to find at a yard sale a long time ago (30.00 each).

So, I'm hoping your going to find it helps you.

Here's the link to the Stampscapes website and who they've got as retailers. Stampscapes Catalog I see there is only one listed for Oregon so I don't know if that was the one you went to. The one I got all mine from in PA closed down a few years ago when the economy went kaputz. I'm probably going to check out the website again for ideas since it's been a while since I've used the stamps. good luck

I don't have this model but I do have several 13W and 18W ott lights. I even clip one to the back of my couch when I am coloring and watching TV at night. I e had a bad experience with replacement bulbs over the past 6 or 8 months though. I purchased 4 bulbs before I got one that worked. Mind you my craft stores are over 80 miles away and the craft stores would not test the bulb for me before I left the store! Very frustrating. I will be sending mail to the Ott company. I am switching to other full spectrum light bulbs and brands. They are much less expensive and work as good as the Ott brand. Some bulbs fit a standard light too! I don't ever want this hassle again.

Nancy Jo, I've got the Ottlite Floor lamp that I really like...and with that said, I'm making myself go upstairs and start getting out supplies to make my first 11 cards for this year. My DH came home from work this morning and said, "What am I thinking?" I said, "Are we going to Shady Maples for breakfast?" and he just LOL cause that WAS what he had been thinking. I LOVE that place (just for the breakfast though) and we can't get there very often so even though I'm totally stuffed (it's a smorgasboard), I'm gonna go do this! Have to get them done since I've got birthdays coming up that I need to get mailed out on MOnday! I'm going in......lol

Good morning! I'll be catching up in a bit on your wonderful cards! I just completed #13, though I don't post every card or blog daily - this has been such an inspiration to get/keep moving craft wise, even when I'm too tired to do so!

Nancy, I have the ottlite truecolor lamp as well and it's a WONDERFUL addition to the craft room, especially since my craft Cabana doesn't have any natural light. I couldn't craft without it!

Happy Saturday all.. I just posted some of my cards to my gallery.

I'm like you Nancy Jo. I tend to make several cards in a sitting...however they are usually multiples of the same card.

I've finally made some cards...it's going to take some time to get back into doing this. I spend 2 hours finding things and organizing scraps (since I'm determined to use them up) and it is taking about 1 hour per card (even though they are very simple). So it's dinner time now and I'm sure I'm going to be called shortly so I'm cleaning up for the night. Got 4 done and that's what I need to send out in Monday's mail...so I'm good! I'll try to make some more of the masculine card to it will be pretty similar.

Will catch up later. In line at JoAnn buying notions. It's my birthday and I am treating myself to some sewing.

Anyway, Stacy, if you ate having trouble getting to $50, tomorrow JoAnn is having 32 cent flat rate shipping, no minimum. At least according to the app on my phone.

...sigh... It's only day 11 and I'm already crashing and burning on this challenge. I'm not even talking about the part where I've only made 2 cards. It's the not spending that's killing me. SU has a special where if we sign up 2 people for the monthly Paper Pumpkin kits we get a $100 grab bag of retired products. Plus whoever signs up gets a free set of In-Color markers. Already have the markers, but you can never have too many markers, right? I was all set to sign my mom and I up. What to do, what to do???

I dont really have an do this or do that advice, I *think* some of the people playing along with the challenge are SU demo's and they may very well have different advice than I would.

I guess you need to make some lists on paper. why would you do this? is it only for the free and discounted gifts?
do you actually want to work at it and make it pay for itself?

are you planning to just sign up get the goods and quit? ( if so that's just shopping) and I understand the shopping bug but, its also my understanding they do these kinds of sign up now and you get the shiny thing behind door number two a few times during the year. ( probably again in the summer when the next big book comes along)

make a list.

the sale thing does not impress me all that much but, I am not in the "needs" stuff section either.

Stacy I'm a hobby demo. And I think my reason for signing up would be 80% because of the free stuff. I am going to NOT sign up for the kits. Bad enough I already blew it once on the 2 Phyllis Harris stamps. I need more stamping stuff like I need another hole in my head. Lol

PS: thanks for the input.

I have a total of 3 Ott lights....a flip open one sits on my work table with its big brother the floor version at the left end of the same table...then I have the one with the adjustable neck that floats from location to location where I am working away from my work table......I love them all---but haven'thad them long enough to replace bulbs....had the flip one 10 years, the big one 7 and the adjustable one only 3.

I have two Ott lights - one on my stamping desk and the floor one near my other desk. I guess I like them - but am not over-the-moon crazy about them like some people are. I guess that's why I've hesitated to buy the tulip shaped one.

I have a flip Ott light on my nightstand and a floor model one. I love the light it gives off, but the flip one keeps falling closed. The floor one has a big magnifying glass on it I never use. It's wobbly and I get very hot working under the light. So I rarely use the big one and only use the one on my nightstand to read before going to sleep.

I was able to get one more card done and now it's time to go to bed! I went to use my black ink pad to stamp and then color the image and found it to be BONE dry! So unless I have another black pad in my stash somewhere, I might need to purchase one if I'm going to continue stamping and making cards. I'm very proud of myself for using quite a few scraps though.

#5 of 100

I'm almost 1/2 way to 11 with #12 tomorrow! I just might catch up if I keep it up Good night

Here are three of my cards:
Paper-Happy Crafting Editor: 8 of 100
Paper-Happy Crafting Editor: 7 of 100
Paper-Happy Crafting Editor: Papertake anything goes, SOS #133 6 of 100

I have more cards made, just need to catch up on the blogging. I've been sleeping a lot because of very bad depression, and I'm just not up during daylight to get to photograph the cards.

Claudette all 3 of your cards are beautiful. The butterfly on your card 6 is gorgeous. I'm so sorry to hear you're not well. I hope you have someone to help you get through it. I can't wait to see your other cards. The quote on card 8 is inspirational and so true. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your kind words. It's hard to get prompt mental health visits. I had an appointment that's been pushed to almost a whole month since the original date. I have medication, but right now it's a bit too much. I have no energy nor feel happiness over anything. I am blessed many times over, but I feel like there's no point to life.

My project today was getting a Christmas page into my PL album. It's up on my blog now.

Joyce, your page is wonderful! My daughter bought me a PL set/cards/pages for Christmas and I'm excited about getting those started

this is a Different store, I was going to one in Salem once or twice a year and so that's cool to see this one on their list ( its over on the coast so not on the way to Portland but, half my parents retired to the coast so, it will be something to look into eventually) THANKS!

Claudette, I'm sorry life is getting you down right now. (((HUGS)))

Ladies, I've been admiring everyone's creativity - and trying to catch up on commenting. I was not on SCS at all yesterday - usually am not on much at all on Sundays - so I had a bit of catch-up to do.
