Hi! It isn't an automatic process. We have to manually go in and approve the submissions. I just did yours, so you should be all set now.

Default Question

Hi! Im thinking of signing up for a swap and my question is probably silly, but do we make the cards, or do we make a kit type set so they are put together when received?

It depends on the swap you are looking at joining. All of the swaps give their directives in the first post. Usually you make the cards according to the size posted by the hostess. A card kit swap is normally listed as a kit swap and the requirements for what to include in the kit are set by the individual hostesses - also in thr first post. If you have any questions, you can ask the hostess within the swap, or send her a private message (a PM).

I am thinking about joining the Easter card swap, due 19 March. I've been looking, but am fairly new to Splitcoaststampers and don't know where to find it.

Default Easter card swap

Where do I find the swap for Easter cards due March 19. A friend told me about the swap and being new, I don't know where to look. I've been trying, but no luck.

Hi Jean

If your looking to swap, you must first join the Swap Users forum. Here is a link to get you started.

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...p-t436253.html

Once you are approved, the first place I would look is in the cards category of the swaps forum. If you have any questions, or still need more help, please let us know. Have fun!

I know we have Canadian swappers and there probably are people from other countries as well. You would have to check with each hostess you want to sign up with to make sure she is ok with filling out the customs form and all of that.

Mellissah .
I always welcome swappers from all places. There are a couple of regular swappers from Australia. just not that you have to send your swap in at least a month ahead of the due date as it takes a while to get here. But when you find a swap you want to join ask the hostess if you can join and tell her where you are from. I am sure they will let you know.

Default Hosting a swap

I have been doing swaps now and would like to host a swap, I printed out all the directions on hosting 101 and there is a note on the bottom that states, swaps can ONLY be started by members hat have more than 25 posts. What exactly is that and how do I know if I have or where I am at?

If you look under your username at the bottom it says Posts: and a number. At the moment you are at 30. This is how many times you have replied to a thread or commented on a card in the gallery.

I am just wondering - I know most of the swaps I am are the usual +1 for the hostess - but do you usually sned the hostess another gift as a thank you as well?? And if so - what else might you send??

Thanks,

Some people may send a little something, but I believe for the most part they just send the +1. Some ideas would be a length of ribbon, some buttons, brads, or other embellishments. Be careful sending chocolate when it is hot out.

Default Replying on Swap Thread

Since I'm basically l azy, I've not looked all the way through this thread for my answer.

I've tried to reply to some threads on swaping but have been told I can't. Is there something I need to do to be able to access swap threads?

Thanks.

I am new to stamping. I have been trying to find a set of stamps by a company that is no longer in business - Cornish Heritage Farms. The stamp set is called Baby Dear. It is a sheet of 24 stamps. I believe the designer was Julie Stainton. I saw a set on Ebay for sale but they were almost $50. I would be willing to trade some stamps to have this set or to buy it from someone. Thanks.

Have you tried posting in the BST forum? This forum is for card (and other handmade item) swaps.

Hi everyone... I'm looking to make a Big Shot die book for SU... I know I've seen a swap for that in the time since I joined SCS, but the only one I can find now is one that's a one-on-one version where you trade a few for what someone has, but I think would end up doing lots of mailing, emailing, etc. Can anyone help me find what I'm looking for? Maybe it's just done and I'm out of luck...

I've seen them before on the Demo Only Swap Forum. I'm not a demo anymore, so I don't know if there are any going on there at the moment. I haven't seen any in the other swap forums. If there isn't one currently going, you could always start one.

Hi - how do you put alllll these lines in your signature? Earlier this week I oculd do only 600, then as I was working to add my swaps, it dropped to 200. So, now I just have my 4 swaps listed with color and no links as it wouldn't all fit.

Thanks sooo much!

Hi!

I'm trying to add a link to a swap. I have one in my signature already. How do I get the link to be words instead of the URL so that I can fit more characters?

Type in what you want then highlight they hit the add link and add the url that should do it.

It is an indicator of your post count. the more posts you have the more often your title changes. Here is a link to let you know what you can shoot for next - have fun!

If you can view the fan club gallery, then you would be a memeber.

Default Maybe a dumb question...

I am participating in a mini-regional type demo event and it is calling for card front swaps. I have always done full-card swaps in the past. My question is this - when doing a card front, should it be 5.5 x 4.25, or slightly smaller, so it could be mounted on a full card base, without covering that front completely? It just seems redundant to make the card front the same size as the full card, in the event the recipient wanted to mount it. In my mind, creating it 5.25 x 4 would allow someone to use it as a layer on top of a card base. Does that make sense?

Most likely, I am over-thinking the situation. Any help clarifying it for me is appreciated!

I think either is acceptable for an event like that.

If you are ever in a swap on the site that calls for card fronts, I would check with the hostess.

You have to click the Edit button and then select Go Advanced and that will get you access to the title field.
