Default SBSC#24 Scrapbook Sketch Challenge

As the new hostess of the Scrapbook Sketch Challenge I didn’t want to waste one more moment. As promised here is this weeks challenge. For those of you that missed my introduction please visit the thread below.
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102775

I know this is SUPPOSED to be posted tomorrow…but I JUST could NOT wait any longer. So some of you will get a head start! Have fun!

SBSC#24 Sketch Challenge

** I even did this challenge and posted a sample for you http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=183241&cat=3592 **

12 X 12 Layout. The thumbnail is attached as a photo. You are more than welcome to make a 8-1/2 X 11 page from this Sketch. Remember! You do not have to fill ALL empty spaces with photos, you can stamp, embellish or use your imagination and fill in the blanks!

Scan or take a photo or your work, upload with SBSC#24 in the keywords, and post it here for us all to see.

You may prefer to do the SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGE (or even do both) located here: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...34#post1375434

Tip: If you like you can type what your journaling says in the notes section of your upload in your galley.

Be remember there are no uploads on Sundays, as the wonderful ladies that approve uploads need a day off too!

Have a SCRAP-TASTIC DAY!!!

Just an FYI: We used SBSC for these challenges so we didn't get them confused with the card sketches, which use SC for the #'s

Cindy, I love your Little Stampers layout! Thank you for sharing your layout and for posting the sketch. It's been ages since I've completed a layout. I'm planning to work on this. Don't know if I will ever get it posted, though!

I hope it's ok to ask questions as I go along. I have my page nearly completed. When I add the journaling should it be layered like the pics or is it ok to write on the "base" cardstock? I did mine on a page of WW - is it ok to have some white space? It seems sort of stark. I did add Print Pattern in two opposite corners but now the rest seems empty. I'm thinking about doing an Itty Bitty bg on the entire page - should that be in the same color as the Print Pattern (Green Galore) or something else? I should have it completely finished by loading time tomorrow. Sue

Here is my scrap challenge. I converted the 12 x 12 into a 6 x 6. I love it.

Sue- I'm no expert, but I think white space is OK! I leave white space on my pages because I want people to notice the photos first. If you do the background on the entire page, I would do it in the same color...maybe stamp off so it's a little lighter.

Can't wait to see it!

Julie - thanks for your response. I had already gone ahead and finished my page as I have other things to stamp and I wanted to get the mess cleaned up from this. There is some white space left but I put some Gable Green cs on the white to tone it down some. I'm not really satisfied with this - not sure I like the colors I chose - but I tried to incorporate in some of things I do in making cards. I began a scrapbook a year and a half ago of the places where my husband I camp. Our motorhome is named "Annie". I'm going to put a thumbnail here, but tomorrow I'll also put it into the gallery. Sue

Of course it is ok to ask questions! Your journaling can be placed however you think it should be. If the page seems like it is 'missing' something, or someting isn't right. Do what I do....walk away from it then come back to if after a while, you will be surprized at the new ideas that spark!

I totally agree with the background! The same color is totally fine I am sure, again, whatever YOU think! I can't wait to see it!!

I love your page! The colors are great and I love the print pattern in the corners.

Now I really need to go finish mine or it's going to be next week before I get it finished! LOL

I so need to start scrapbooking again and I love working from sketches. It's so quick and easy. My goal is to do 2 or 3 pages from each of the challenges. I may actually make a dent in my growing pile of pictures!!

I'm almost done with page 2 and then I have to work on Christmas gifts. I'll be here on Sat to see the next sketch!

Thank you for starting up the sketchs again, it really gets me motivated. And thanks for the compliments.

I did one! It's kinda different from the sketch - I'm not usually a sketch follower but I think it's a variation on the theme and I like the way it turned out. Thanks for hostessing the challenge, Cindy.

I finally pulled out my scrapbook things to do this sketch. I really need to get things organized, so that I don't dread the gathering before and clean-up after.

Just uploaded, so it is pending...

LOL!! I unfortunately have the link, but don't utilize it much if at all! My mom even said this week about seeing "this website". I told her I already knew it - she just laughed.

I really do need to get organized - I tell myself everyday. Of course, I am also the world's BEST procrastinator too!!
