Hero Arts 2013 New Release Contest - Contest closed - updated first post
Thank you to all of you who entered the contest. We are so impressed with your talent and it's going to be hard to pick a winner. And we're thankful that we don't have to! Our next step is to narrow it down to the top 10 and then the SCS community will vote for the winner. Look for a post of the top ten next week.
There are so many fun new products that Hero Arts released in December. I hope that you are having fun playing with them. We would love to see your creations.
Would you like to win a $50 shopping spree at Simon Says Stamp? Create a project using one or more of the products that Hero Arts released and post it in the gallery. (update: It is ok if you use other company's products on your project in addition to the Hero Arts one(s)) Use the keyword herocontest so we know which project(s) are your entry(s). Be sure to post your project by the end of the day on 1/31.
We will pick our 10 favorite entries. From there? The Splitcoast community will decide. We'll post a poll and you pick the winner!
Jana, I just uploaded a card using some of the new HA stamps......being kind of new to this forum, I have a question: is there a way to search for other entries for this contest? Can we put herocontest in some search bar somewhere?

Thanks Lin for sharing this with us all in our Flickr Group. I am ordering some new HA stamps this weekend because I got some very appreciated gift cards for on-line. So I hope to play along with this as soon as I get my stamps in the post. Great contest.

I'm brand NEW to SCS and to posting here. I've uploaded some cards to my gallery and included the keyword, but can someone tell me which gallery I need to post them in?

Please forgive my inexperience. I can't figure out how to link my cards to your gallery. I see a very long drop down list during the upload process, but can't find Simon there. Am I looking in the wrong place?
That happened to me the first time I tried to upload one. (sorry I forgot that it did) Click upload a card on the left of the page and ignore that category dropdown. Once you upload the card you can go to the 2nd page of the upload and enter Simon and Herocontest in keywords (and whatever else is relevant) That will make sure you are in our gallery
OK... Herocontest was already in my keywords, so I added Simon. Still not seeing them in your gallery, but they do appear with 4 other cards if I click on the "herocontest" keyword. Maybe they just need to process through. Thanks so much for your help.
Oh wow! Great opportunity! Now to get the cobwebs dusted off my mojo!

Maria, you should go back to your 3rd card and edit it with the herocontest and Simon keywords; I don't see them there right now, so that may be 1 reason they're not showing......

Thanks so much, Lin. I did not include that third card because it includes a stamp from another company and was not sure if it qualified for the contest.
This is a good opportunity, though to make sure I am tagging the entries correctly. Do we separate the keywords with a comma or just a space? It's funny because for a brief moment 2 of my cards did appear in the contest gallery, but when I added "Simon" to the keywords they dropped off. I have received a couple of automated responses from SCS indicating that my cards were approved for the members gallery, but that is all.
I understand there is a delay in posting cards from new members - which I am - but I see that another contributor who seems to be as new as me has her entry up. This makes me believe I am doing something on my end that is causing the problem.
I will let Lin answer your posting question - clearly she has more experience in it than I do. But I do want to clarify.. you do not have to use JUST Hero products to enter it in the contest. The only criteria is that it has one or more of the new Hero new release products in it. I am going to update the original post so there isn't any confusion about that
I have no idea what's happening here, Maria; you have used the exact same keywords as me, but ????? This is a question for the experts, and I am far from one of those.....have you tried replying to one of those emails that says your cards were approved to the gallery, and ask why you can't see them? Be as specific as you can. And please share back here if you get an answer.....

I wound up writing the folks here and asking if they could check to see if I had messed up. Turns out they are having a database issue which is causing the problem and they are working on it. Hopefully my card - and possibly some others - will pop into the contest pool any day now. Thanks for your help and your patience with my many questions!

Lin, again thanks so much for letting us know about this I've just uploaded four cards. Two seem to be in the right place, so I'm presuming the others are just taking the scenic route getting there!
Jana, is it okay that I put the cards in another gallery too, like paper piecing or happy birthday? I thought I had to pick one of the gallery options on the first page and I couldn't see Simon Says Stamp there.
Heather -- You can put them in any galleries you want! The only thing you want to be sure to do to enter the contest is make sure that Simon and Herocontest are listed in your keywords (2nd page when you upload)

I don't know. I have some recent Hero Arts stamps. And they are very similar to the 2013 (typewriter, bicycle) but not the same, and I'm not buying more of the same just for a contest I probably won't win. So I'm giving it a pass. Good luck to all that do enter.

Kristen -- This contest is to give everyone ideas on creating with the new releases. But we would LOVE to see any creations you make with any Hero Products in the SplitCoast gallery. Those typewriter and bicycle stamps are so cute!
This is exactly what I needed to come out of hiding/lurking. I love Hero Arts! The new release for 2013 is wonderful. I can't wait to see the amazing cards everyone is creating.
I uploaded a card (it is scary the first time!) and I have no idea where it went. I was not able to find the SimonSaysStamp gallery. Oh, well. I will enjoy looking at everyone's creations.
