Ready for a new Mix-Ability challenge?!! Our goal is to make mixed media easy, approachable and FUN! We want to convince you that no matter what your style is - you can DO it!
This week's challenge is The Unexpected Medium
We are SO used to our paints, our inks, our waxes, glitters, and pastes, that we forget about the medium that we all use LITERALLY on every project - PAPER.
Yes, paper is a medium. In beautiful galleries all over the world, you'll see paper sculptures, collage, quilling, paper carving, paper beads and more - and so today I thought we'd go back to our roots.
Make a project using paper as at least one of your mediums. For my sample - I used two different kinds of paper - one cardstock, and one coloring book page. Think about music paper, book pages, rice paper, vellum - I know you have more than enough options to make a beautiful mixed media project with JUST paper, but of course add any other mediums you like!
Remember to use the keyword MIX490 when uploading your creations to the gallery, come back and post a link, and let us "ooooooh" and "ahhhhhh" over your works of art!

I am working toward my "Challenge Catch-Up" goal as usual!
Challenge: Use the medium paper in an unexpected way. The colorful floral die-cut on this card was made because this die-cut was used as a stencil for another card to make a negative blender brush inked floral bouquet for another card. The result was this beautiful and colorful blender brushed inked die-cut was the result after using it as a stencil. I am using it as the focal point of this card! Other mediums: dye-ink (ink blending/ sentiment stamping); Copic markers: coloring rhinestones & glitter gems; Black Sharpie (edge coloring for black stripes; computer ink (Chatterbox inside verse).
