Default TLC747~ Ink Pad Background! ~ (06/17/19)

Hi Guys!

It is my turn to challenge you and I decided to go with an easy but colorful background using my Distress Oxide Ink Pads. They were sitting on my desk and I thought what if I stamped with them??

I am not sure if this technique has been done, but it was fun and easy to sit down and create a bunch of backgrounds so I thought I would go for it!

I started by randomly placing the ink pad directly down on my paper and repeating the process with more ink until I was happy with way it looked. The first one uses blues, greens, and yellows.

When I had used all the colors, I went back in with the lightest colors to fill in the blanks. And that was it. Fun geometric looking background.

I made several more using colors in rainbow order....

Now it is your turn! Try it with different colors, different inks, different ink pad shapes. Just have Fun!

Lyn

Here are the Details for today's challenge:

This is similar to the Direct to Paper technique, which is featured in TLC628. Lydia also did a tutorial on it.

There is a lot that can be done with this technique. It's fun to do with masking too. I didn't try that today, but I did DTP on the edges of my layers to give it a framing border. Michelle Zindorf is a master at it.

A word of warning....don't use yellow as your last color! I had to clean my oxide ink pad after creating my background. I will post after I turn it into a card!

As I understand it this doesn't mess up the yellow though - I just patted it off and it seems ok?

Yes, Lyn I used a rag and rubbed it a bit and all is good. Just made sure to do it right away and I don't think there will be a problem. I just thought I was being clever by starting with the light blue and then decided on the yellow last minute. Love the challenge! My pieces are pretty.
