Default Self healing mat with gemini

Has anyone on this board used a self healing mat with their Gemini? I'm trying to figure out what thickness of self healing mat to try. I have seen the videos on you tube but can't tell the thickness.
TIA

I don't use a self-healing mat with my Gemini, but found some info; if you know the brand being used, this might help to determine the thickness.

Fiskars 3mm thick
Dahle 3 mm thick
Alvin 3 mm thick
Olfa 1.5 mm thick

Use the mats with both Gemini and Vagabond. I don't use the big plates hardly ever with the Gemini. I use my two Sizzix plates with the mat inbetween and it goes through the Gemini just fine. When using the Vagabond, I just replace one of the cut plates with the mat.
Here is the one I use. I cut it in half (That's the hard part!)

Amazon.com: Dahle Vantage 10680 Self-Healing Cutting Mat, 9"x12", 1/2" Grid, 5 Layers for Max Healing, Perfect for Cropping, Sewing, Crafts, Clear: Industrial & Scientific

BlueFeather, when you say two sizzix plates do you mean A plus C and cutting mat?

The sizzix cutting plates are thinner than the gemini's plates. That's why you can use the healing mat and die between them with no problem. I just send them through sideways in the gemini.
