Happy Mix-Ability day! I am getting ready to go to Junkie Fest. It's a 150-member stamping event in Minneapolis. I've been working on things in the background and it's making me think of all those wonderful colors and textures from the 70's. Those were funky days indeed!
For my challenge, I want to see you embed some fabric in your card. Use modeling paste over it. Paint it with acrylics. Use oil pastels to color it. Use plaster if you have some. Stitch it down and emboss it. Get the idea? The fabric can be anything - burlap ribbon, medical gauze, fabric tea bags, ribbon that has been frayed out. Don't just add fabric. Embed it like it's been there since the 70s! Be a funky junkie!
Remember, for your project to truly qualify as mixed media, you need to use at least 2 different types of art media. You can click HERE for a list of supplies you could choose from.
Please remember to put in the correct keyword (MIX286) when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. Then come back to this thread and paste a link to the card in your gallery so we can all ooh and ahhh! Go forth and create!

I peeked at the challenge this morning when DH was getting up. I had to go to the library and pick up some stuff for the weekend, but since I got home I've been having a wonderful time getting messy and making my first altered canvas. Still not dry enough for photos - but thanks for all the fun I've had. I think I bought the canvases last year .

You should see the stack of blank canvases I have! If you're working on canvas, that would be your fabric for this challenge. I can't wait to see it!

I'll have to try again tomorrow - I just can't get the right blue in my photo - the background is more a pale aqua (the pigment I used was called forest green).
Ok - I goofed! The challenge keyword is MIX286! I'll be editing your uploads for you. Thanks for understanding!
Thanks, Polly!
That's so funny - because when I saved mine to my PC I automatically named it MIX286 because my previous one, and I knew I'd played last week, was 285. But I guess I took my cue from the challenge title, LOL.
Thinking of Ewe by PeonySnail - at Splitcoaststampers
Funny how a card starts to go in it's own direction as I work on it. I didn't intend this card to be melancholy, but I just recently learned that my stepmother, whose nickname was Ewe, died this past week. She didn't want any services or anything, but perhaps this little card can send out my thoughts to the universe. She said she kept every card I sent her. I will miss her...thanks for letting me vent.
