Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a TEApotter the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
CHALLENGE:
There is something so beautiful and elegant in shabby chic style that always draws me in to see the details. It could be layers, colors or layout but when I see it on a card, I just want to look closer at the fine details. Today we are putting some of those fine details on our cards. Feel free to step up to the challenge and add some shabby chic elements.
DESTINATION STATION
Sadly, one of our fellow SCSs, Art Deco Diva (Karen), lost her mother recently. Lets show her some love and support and let her know were thinking of her.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT511 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Post your request HERE or send a PM to Jacqueline.
Here's Anita's card, she uploaded it to the hostess area before her trip to visit family, and I've moved it into the main gallery for her: MMTPT511 Shabby by snietje
Here's a detail shot, which shows the little envelope open. I used a sentiment from Roses in Winter, and flowers and leaves from the old Botanical Blooms hostess set.
Lisa, this challenge is so appropriate for Karen. I remember her saying that she has trouble with this technique, and now she will have some shabby chic cards at her disposal! Here is mine: Shabby Chic for Karen~ by stampin'nana - at Splitcoaststampers

I am gobsmacked right now- thank you all so very, very much. I absolutely adore shabby chic and cannot master it for anything. The cards in the gallery are absolutely stunning! I have been so busy this past month since my mother passed with funeral details, thank you's, keeping a close eye on my dad who has Parkinson's with Dementia, and taking care of the family farm 2 hours away that it had not really sunk in. I have tried calling my mother a few times and am confused when I get the recording saying this number is disconnected, so the reality of this is really beginning to hit now. Thanks again, this means more than words can say.... Hugs! ~Karen.
Didn't get to play in the challenge but I did manage to get a shabby chic card in the mail today. I really wanted to send hugs to Karen.

I want to thank everyone who made and sent me a card for this wonderful/amazing challenge. I have always known what a truly special craft this is, but now I know the "power of a card" like never before. This touched me in ways that words cannot convey and thank you seems so trite, but truly, thank you so very much! Hugs to each of you! Love, Karen
I'm bringing up the caboose. I so wanted get this done earlier for Karen...but life got in the way! It goes off in the mail tomorrow! Here is my card: Sorrow for Our Alpha Sister!
