Ahhh... this week just didn't go the way I'd hoped. I hurt my back and spent time in the evenings ...not scrapping ... on the couch
Hopefully I'm back to getting some pages done tomorrow. I've also packed a scrap bag to ship to my destination for while I'm gone as I decided it's a really long time with no crafty goodies AND I do hope to have some evenings to scrap, we'll see. At least I'm prepared if I do
Welcome Amy, we're glad to have you! This thread is all about just getting pages done, we don't stress over too many particulars, we're here to have FUN!
Welcome back Anavon and Sharon, always glad to have scrappy friends back in the house ...

Welcome, Amy! So glad you decided to switch from lurker to participant. My name is Cheryl, and I host the sketch challenge. It's also a good place to start if you're looking for a way to structure your layout. There is usually a current sketch posted, or you can check back through the gallery of older sketches to find one that fits what you're looking for. I always list the number of photos needed for the sketch, but you are welcome to adapt as needed. I'm also hosting Virtual Scrapbook Night this month, so feel free to check out those scrappy challenges for inspiration, too. And remember, it's all about the memories, so as long as you get the pages scrapped, the rest is just a suggestion to get you started. Good luck!
So is anyone scrapbooking this weekend? I'm trying to get some scrappy time in today because tomorrow my hubby and I are taking the kids sledding! I scrapped yesterday and got another layout finished, my final one for VSBN.

Thanks for the welcome and encouragement. I laugh because no one tackled my question about how NOT to get lost in the galleries and forums. Does that mean...Good luck on that because we haven't found a way! Ha! I've finally got a few days off in a row so hope to have some scrapping to show for it!
I think you hit the answer right on the nose Amy!! I have not found a way, I call it hunting for inspiration but can spend hours being inspired and not producing!!! I wish us all luck on that one!
I put a few finishing touches on the layouts I have been working on, now I am waiting for the sun to come out to photograph them. Not sure if we are having sun today, just clouds. I may try anyway and see if I can edit them enough for the colors to show properly! I do have the first ones to post and will be doing that shortly.
Good morning all, I think I'm gonna have to set myself a timer to get out of the galleries and forums and onto business. But this morning I'm curious what are everyone's favorite products. Do you mostly hodge podge around or are you loyal to a certain brand or company? Part of my time away from scrapbooking happened because I just didn't know where to turn after Creative Memories fell apart. I love their book cloth covered albums and hinged closure, so I was lost to restart. I only recently learned that they are back in business and going strong under new management and direction, but with the same albums I always loved so I am ready to plunge back in. The rest of my stash comes from lots of different sources and I can't seem to drive by a Hobby Lobby without my Jeep taking a turn into the parking lot! Happy Scrapping!
I love to distress my pages with ink, mediums, waxes (new product), paint (sprays, mist), stencil work you name a technique I have tired most! As far as paper, any brand is fair game! Mostly pattern paper that I tone down with card stock.
I mix and match brands of products ALL the time.
I was a CTMH consultant for 7 years, so I have tons of products from them and tend to remain pretty brand loyal. That said, I also have lots of stash that I'm still trying to use up, and I get products sent to me occasionally when I win a random drawing, etc., so I do also play around with other companies' products. In my opinion, if you can make it look good, then use it, baby!
Got first 7 pages finished and uploaded for an album I am doing for my Dad.
I plugged some into the VSBN challenges and did one long ago sketch I found in the master sketch thread. So here's my not very creative titles.
Not sure if anyone is interested, but I saw on Creative Memories FB that they are having an all day virtual crop tomorrow. I haven't ever done this before, so I don't know how it works exactly, but thought I'd share it if anyone is interested. Potential prizes for participants...

I cant find it. I can only find the one for November 2016. Can you give us a link, please
Scroll down the FB page a little. Or you can go to the CM blog. They have a sketch posted already! Wonder if you have to use CM products to participate. Mine are really old because I haven't bought anything since CM re-invented themselves.

Just stopping by to say hi....
Seems to be the only thing I can do. I have lots of pages done but can't upload anything as usual. I am starting to remember what the frustrations were that caused my last lapse and disappearance.
Cheryl, I wonder the same thing and haven't seen anyone ask the question in the blog Q&A. All of my CM stuff is also really old, but its more out of my stash and put into its proper place...in a BOOK!

The timer idea might be a really good one I know I get lost on the internet all the time!
Re: favorite products, I worked for two local scrapbook stores way back in the day when I was in college so I had a big stash, but since I've been doing Stampin' Up! for over 10 years that's what I use 99% of the time. It's easier on me mentally to just use SU! colors and papers; I ended up giving 3/4 of my patterned paper stash to my mom and a friend because I never used it. I did keep the stuff I liked best, plus stickers and things like lettering templates.
About the gallery...is anyone else having trouble doing uploads? I was going to upload some pages a few days ago and it said that my files were the wrong type...they were jpegs. And I just tried to do it again and when I click the "upload a card" button it just goes to a blank page....
...so I got the gallery to work but now hubs wants to watch a movie with me, so I'm off the computer for a bit. Y'all be scrappy!
Glad you got it to work! I haven't uploaded anything in a few days, but I hope to finish and post a layout today, so hopefully I won't run into any glitches.
Amy, first challenge is up at CM crop: scrap more than 8 photos on a single page layout or more than 12 photos on a double. Wow, that's a lot of photos! I usually scrap about 8 - 10 on a double, so I will have to think if I have a set of photos I can adapt for 12+. Don't know if I'll post any completed challenge layouts on Facebook, but it's always fun to have inspiration. Are you scrapping today?
My back is hurting so I am working at a snail's pace today, but I managed to get a layout finished. Sharon, are you enjoying the CM crop? I need to check out your layouts now. Glad you're getting lots done!

I had so much fun enjoying the CM virtual crop today, it was a welcome relief from the three days of snow here at the Canyon. Problem is... I still can't upload here at splitcoast. Maybe a moderator could take a look. I can click on the link to upload, I can upload my photos and I can enter all the info in the blanks, when I push submit it goes to a white empty screen and set there. It never finishes and it never posts to my gallery.

Ok I said I had a few days off in a row and I was going to do some scrapping and I am SO glad that it actually worked out as planned...who knew?
I completed 8 pages on Friday and did the CM virtual crop and finished 9 more today! I didn't link my pages yesterday because I stayed up too late doing them but managed to upload them anyway. Today FB and this site didn't seem to want to both be on my computer at the same time, so I finished uploading today's pics. So here is my long list with my oh so unimaginative page names.

Happy Sunday Everyone!
Just stopped by to spread a lot of love notes and to tell Sharon "Thank You" I reported my upload problem, so hopefully I will be able to upload soon.
I had some trouble uploading yesterday, but I pushed the back button and re-submitted the layout (thankfully it didn't erase all the fields I'd completed), and it took the second time. Not sure what's going on but hope they get it resolved soon so you can upload, Anavon.
It's pouring here in Southern California so it seems like a perfect time to scrapbook, but I'm having a hard time getting motivated due to back pain. Hopefully the icy-hot patch I put on starts working soon!
Speaking of hurt backs, Lela, how are you doing? Hopefully off the sofa by now! I miss seeing your beautiful layouts in the gallery, but I know you've been super busy this month. Are you getting any scrappy time in?
Cheryl, sorry you are having back pain! I forgot Lela was in pain, too. I miss her too.
I have been wondering who is doing Feb. VSBN? Should I be thinking of something?
LOL Oh, by the way if you go to the VSBN gallery, there are some new ones playing.
Wishing all you with pain have recovered nicely! So sad to hear my scrappin' buddies are suffering. (I'm sure celebrations are much better without the pain.)
I used lots of scraps and mixed in some newer stamps (cameras) for this challenge. My grandson in law were playing around at Epcot and I'm finally getting around to scrapping those pics. The title words are computer generated, journaling is incorporated with it.

Thanks for thinking of me, Sharon. Back is still not doing well, but hopefully it will mend soon. I PMed you and Lela re: February VSBN.
