Of course, you were missed Susan!! Four days away would mean 4 days of work before I left and 4 days of work after so I bet you are busy today!! Laundry is a challenge at my house these days because my washer gets out of balance every time it goes into the spin cycle, it seems. If I am not right by it, the dang thing will dance across the laundry room. Saturday it did just that and all the crafty junk I had stacked beside it fell behind the washer. I had to climb up on top of the washer and use my old lady gripper stick to pull that stuff up so I could push the washer back into place. Ugh! Ain't nobody got time for that!!!
I love that fabulous photo. Looks like a place I would love to be! My mom has a bottle tree in her backyard which is so overloaded now that she needs another one.
Jeanette, try to pace yourself on that laundry mountain! We can't afford to have you falling!
Hi, Kelly! I got your fun Christmas packet Saturday! I hope to get to play with it this afternoon. Yours is going in today's mail. I haven't gotten out to the blogs just yet, but you know I am thrilled to have you mention me on yours! I am embarrassed to say that I was so swamped with an added responsibility that I didn't even get a 10 Minute Card out on my blog for KSS on Monday. I think I have missed my KSS Monday post only twice in my 9 years with them so I hope it will be forgiven.
I can't share publicly, but I have two dear friends in real crisis right now, and I am spending a good bit of time helping and doing for them. Please say a little prayer for them both.
I am off to the church for prayer shawl ministry but will be back to hit the blogs after lunch! Have a grand day!!

A PRAISE! Dd's much anticipated (and 3rd) appointment with her specialist showed nothing abnormal growing and she is cleared of 'all the bad things" - thank you, Jesus! This has been SO heavy on my heart! We are celebrating God's mercy today! ♥

Surprise to me - last minute Kelly - a package of new stamps arrived just yesterday so I got to scrap my card and make a new one - at 9 pm!!!

But the new stamps were fun, fun, fun! And my distress oxides - I will have to sit through you tube. My cards don't look like Lynns! I gave up and will have to try when I have the time.
And that would be this summer ......... LOL!
So I'm wondering - what is Susan making me for dinner today? Since she's my new chef - lucky me, I don't have to cook this week!
A little late getting here today. Nick had his oral surgery which took FOREVER!!! Due to his developmental delays it has to be done with him put under at the hospital. Then the tooth to be extracted was really well attached to the bone so lucky him got about 7 stitches too. They then did xrays noticed 3 other teeth with little spots and figured since he's under they may as well fix those. So now he's home and dopey. We put him down for a nap and he's snoring away! LOL Good thing I decided to use the crock pot today. Besides Kelly is hungry AGAIN!!! My gosh that girl can eat...heehee. Anyway we are trying Cherry Balsamic Honey pulled pork. Smells great and I love so many of the flavored Balsamics that I get up by the cottage at an Olive Oil shop. Mmmmm.....smells so good!
Lynn prayers still coming for your friends. Have you done the oxides yet...Guess I should go check the blogs....oops. Sorry I'm giggling right now...I have this image of you over the washer...old lady stick in hand! Is big brother watching? Will it make the news?? Heeheehee Can you imagine the sight if you had to use a "I've fallen but I can't get up" button??? Sorry gues I needed something to focus on and my imagination is running wild! In all sincerity you really need to be careful.

Oh my goodness... what fun is happening in Susan's world. LOL! Visions. Delicious food. Friends around the table (Kelly and I are both there, I'm sure!) I love reading your posts, Susan! How is Nick doing today. He was put through a lot yesterday. I'd think his mouth might be complaining today. (You might recall some time ago, Brock had to be at the hospital, put out for a tooth extraction. He did GREAT! I will pray Nick copes with all of this well, too!)
Kelly, I definitely think a CELEBRATION is in order at your house. Such good news for DD - and the family who loves her!!! Hmmmm... how did you know???

Jeanette, it is kind of funny if I have company and suddenly leap up, vault over the furniture, and make a mad sprint to the laundry room. Then I have to come back and explain I have to catch the washing machine before it dances clear out the door!

Thank you for the well wishes for dd - we are so grateful. We just got one daughter where she needs to be and then the other one ... but all is well, PTL!
Dh said we were all going out to eat last night as he was so thankful and as a party of 8 (us plus 2 boyfriends), we ended up at Macaroni Grill - haven't been there in years. It was hilarious as the hostess gave us crayons and there was 8 adults, all sitting at the table laughing and coloring!! (well, my son is 12 but taller than me!) Good times!
Today is early dismissal at school - so as soon as I'm home - walk the dogs - run to the bank - get food for the macaw at 'the farm' - it's time to turn around and leave again! And then dd is getting her permit today (this child has refused to drive, but mama isn't taking her to college!) Then it's back home and Scout night at the church ... so I'll need many cups of coffee!
Oh Susan, bless Nick's heart! I'm glad to hear he did well ~ and will pray for his continued recovery and hope he's back to his happy self with no residual effects.

Nick is doing great today. Yes Jeanette I do remember when Brock had to go in. I am always so amazed as to how quickly they jump back. Being put under always worries me tho and with him he doesn't really understand what is going to happen and here he feels great, smiling playing and then they knock him out and he wakes up a total grump probably wondering "What the heck happened??" But today is great.
Lynn....loved the added visual of you leaping over furniture...do you do "Tall Buildings" too......oh wait is that Superman??? heeheehee

Beautiful view! Mine was of cars. And streets. As I ran behind two dogs that apparently do not know the meaning 'we're going for a WALK" translates to "let's drag mommy around the block as fast as we can and make her run behind us even though she had a bad hip!" Hmmmpft!
Did I tell you girls tomorrow is PROM! Yes, Prom! DD gets signed out at 9 am. Mind you, she goes TO school at 7:20. But if they don't show up, and are there at least an hour, they can't attend a school function. I get it, it's fair A hassle for me but what is one more trip - one more stop! LOL! I'll be sure to share pictures of my little Cinderella all grown up and going to the ball ♥

Oh my! Did you all hear about the storm that hit central Illinois yesterday. Some highways closed... for 4 hours... and some friends of mine who normally commute for about 30 minutes to get home for work were 3-4 hours due to the accidents/storm.
They said you couldn't see beyond the hood of your own car... so no wonder there were so many accidents.
And the storm...... not what you'd expect at all. It was a DUST storm!
Ohare too was shut down .Those winds traveled right up through here too late afternoon through evening. then that huge ban of thrunderstorms with rotation came pushing up going north east. We had small downed tree branchs but nothing major. Heavy thunderstorms hit here about midnight but we were on the eastern end of it as most of it slid through the western half of Illinois right up into Wisconsin. Tornado warning were out here too. This area has missed alot of rain lately and with the farmers plowing the fields the dust storm (that hit before all the rain) just carried all that loose dirt everywhere. We are still under wind advisorys today. Such crazy weather.

Kelly can't wait to see DD's pics of prom. Ahhhhhhh....I remember my prom....Our theme song was Moody Blues "Nights in White Satin". What a perfect night Hmmmmm memories.
Yes, it's PROM! And Jeanette, I was right behind you at 5:20 :eek: So much playing through my mind! Dropped kids off at school, went through Bux, turned back to dd's school as it's early release for PROM - hilarious. They give them an hour at school and they go home and get ready for .... 7 hours? LOL! Off to an appt with dd20 - specialist #2 and LAST appointment - then back to get dd from his school then off to take dd to her friends house for the whole picture taking, yadda yadda. It's a really special night for all of them - as with her sisters, we do let them go for the entire weekend and they get a place on/near the beach and enjoy the weekend.
All I'm saying is after this month - and today - I want a room at the beach for the weekend!
I will do my best in all of this madness to get a few pictures of my princess!
Big hugs to all as I dash back out ......... poor dogs are going to have to wait for their "let's make mommy run' walk
Wow Kelly........heeheehee and I just got out of my "Jammies". I feel like such a slacker next to you. And Jeanette.....OMG...I would be dragging by now if I got up that early. I don't know how you manage to make it til bedtime. lol
Yes please pics when you get them Kelly. How exciting for her. And to stay at the beach! Makes me think of "Beach Blanket Bingo" Does anyone else remember this movie??? My fave! I loved Moon Doggie. lol Anyway a perfect evening would be a bon fire on the beach. Can they do that on the Florida beachs?? With ours being a private beach on Lake Michigan we are able to have nightly bon fires. Its so cool at night to look around the harbor and see all the fires on the beach. My grandkids are enjoying this tradition as much as my kids did. And when there's a large group it is truly a blast. We have a huge beach party on the 4th of July....bon fires...pig roast and about 70 of us between 4 houses. Sorry got off track....back to prom.....Fingers will be crossed for gorgous weather and I hope you DD has a wonderfukl time.
Rainy day here and what a difference a day makes...upper 80's yesterday and todays high will be 52. Hmmmmmmm....what season am I in??? LOL
No big plans...going to a friends to make some new Heartfelt Creation cards tonight. She bought a new paper pack and is dying to use it. Lucky for me she want to share and asked me to come over. Can't wait. Have a great day!

WOW! I think Kelly needs a choreographer with all of her dance moves behind the wheel... going here and yonder. I can hardly wait to see pictures and hear of the amazing prom experiences.
And there's our slacker... LOL! You are a hoot, Susan! It seems the weather is crazy, doesn't it? My son who lives in Wisconsin said they are down to 40 today... and he turned the AC on a couple of days ago because it was so hot. How fun to be able to get crafty with a friend with new toys. Enjoy!
I've spent much of my morning typing minutes (Wednesday's conference call meeting). Now I need to get back to work on our Association's website, says my DH. Sheesh! Such a slave driver. Doesn't he know I have visions of cards in my head that just NEED to be created. ;)
TGIF!!! Hi ladies. It has been a whirlwind week here. But, I missed keeping up with all of the hilarious chatter here- ya'll sure put a smile on my face- with images of poor Nick having surgery, to Lynn with her feet up in the air sticking out of a washing machine, to Kelly driving atound with a Sbuks in one hand and kids waving me next-I need to go here.... and then there is Jeanette who has visions of sugar plums in her hear (really card designs) and her husband keeping her on tract saying -get 'er done darling!!! Ahhhhhh
My Mom's youngest brother died last Saturday. We decided not to tell mom right away. We had a brunch here for family on Sunday, and my sister stayed a bit after everyone left, then we told mom. She was hysterical at first, then calmed down, but still quite upset.
We traveled on Tuesday for the wake and mass then a dinner, funeral on Wednesday. We had a luncheon at the church after the burial. It was sad, to see everyone again, as we had gathered just a month ago for my cousins funeral.
All went well, we arrived home at 5Pm ish, mom and I both fell asleep on the couch..lol Mom was ready and in bed by 8:30, but read until 10:00 ish. She slept until 11:30 yesterday! Then she had Physical Therapy, etc....
I am going to try to get to my craft room this afternoon for some creative therapy.....
Stephi is home- arrived Wed night from Virginia. After getting mom to all appts yesterday, we relaxed and visited for an hour or so, then I headed out with Stephi and met up with Katie in Chicago. We got stuck in traffic, so arrived a bit later than expected, so grabbed a bite to eat and headed to see Aladdin. It was awesome! The costumes were very colorful, and the singing was fabulous!!!
Shelly, here's a vision for you... I stuffed a sock in DH's mouth so he can't tell me "Get 'er done, darling" today. I'm going to play! LOL! I literally spent all day yesterday at the computer - first with the minutes from our Council Meeting that I then sent to our state offices and then hours and hours and hours on the website.
But the good news is... I got it in a pretty good spot for now (still lots of work to do, but it's functional) so my DH sent the link to all of the pastors in our association for their perusal and to check for errors/updates/spelling to the info that is on it about their churches (established date, address, pastors name, service times (Sunday and mid-week), links to website). Of course, my list of questions for our Zone Consultant (the guy who led the Social Media workshop for us last week) is a mile long... but he and I have texted some of my questions already and will address others as time permits.
Yes, today is the day - Brock's birthday! He's super excited! He gets presents... and he has a softball game (unless they get rained out this morning)... and Saturday is always his day for cheeseburgers for lunch (either DQ or McD, his choice) and tonight is his annual birthday dinner at a restaurant of his choice. WOW! That's a lot of good times for our guy. ;)

I had a great time last night tho we only got 1 card done. There were no instructions for card base (just a shutter card) the original finished card size was 6x6 which I had already had measurements for but my friend wanted the card to be 4.25 x 5.5. Would have been easy if I just didn't listen to her dimentions and just do it on my own because she kept giving me the wrong nbs for where to cut and score. I think it was by the 4th fail that I had to argue with her that 2 1/8th was half of 4 1/4th. Some how she was adiment thsat it was 2 1/4th. Ughhhhh....what a night. LOL Soooo....we only got 1 card done in 5 hours!!!!! Oh well we did laugh alot!
So gloomy here...they say more rain so I'm going to craft a few more cards as long as DH doesn't have any plans for us to go out.
Shelly sorry it was so hard on your mom. I hope she finds peace in all this soon. So hard to lose a loved one. Prayers for strength being sent. Sounds like you had a fun time in the city. Did you get your Creative Therapy???

Kelly, there are no more Macaroni Grills around me but we used to love going there! Do they still cover the tables with butcher paper? We used to love scrawling drawings and messages all over ours while waiting for our food. Such fun and GOOD food!
Do you now have another "legal" driver in the family! I think you could certainly use some help with your chauffeuring duties.
I can't wait to see pictures of the prom. I know Cinderella will look amazing after her 7 hours of pampering and primping!
What scary weather for Illinois, Jeanette and Susan! When we lived in West Texas in the early years of our marriage, dust storms were a given, but in Illinois! Sheesh!!!
Susan, I have been trying to book a beach house for my husband's birthday, but with his day falling the day before the 4th of July. I have waited too late. Everything large enough for my family is already booked. I am close enough to just drive down alone for sunrise on the beach that day which I plan to do.
We are allowed bonfires on the beach. That must be a sight roasting a pig with 70 people. Here it is mostly hot dogs and marshmallows on a stick over the fire with a guitar sing along.
I bet that one card is a masterpiece, Susan!! Can't wait to see it on your blog!

Wishing Brock the happiest of birthdays!! What could be better than his ballgame this morning, his hamburger for lunch, and his dinner out at the end of the day!! I hope it ends with ice cream and cake and every present on this wish list! What a fabulous day of celebration for your family.

Today will be a day of cooking for a friend and cooking for the church. We will have the installation of new officers at church tomorrow followed by a church-wide luncheon. I have agreed to be the Prayer Chain Chairman this year.
Ahhhh yes Lynn...booking beach houses always need to be done well in advance. Up in Door County where we are (concidered the Cape Cod of the Midwest) you need to book a year in advance for anything on the beach. Even campgrounds need to be booked in January and if your lucky you'll get a prime spot. We are truly blessed to have our little cottage on the beach to go to when ever we want.
So I guess I'm not letting Nick be the only one using the sympathy card...............Last night I ended up going to a dentist after hours due to an abscess. After xrays and checking my mouth it ends up I now need oral surgery. Set me up with antibiotics and pain killers and I'm scheduled for tomorrow. This is crazy!!! Like I have time for this. I had broke a tooth a while ago(never hurt) hoping to get things taken care of after the school year....but my luck ran out before school did. UGH.....So I probably won't be on here tomorrow. Hope all of you had a great weekend.

Susan, THANK YOU for Brock's birthday greeting. I'll show it to him when he gets up. He will love it! I don't know if I've mentioned it before or not... but DH and Brock go out for lunch EVERY Saturday - 2 cheeseburgers and french fries for Brock, please with ketchup, mustard and pickles. AND a glass of water. Plus, if he can talk dad into it, ICE CREAM!!! Brock chooses which place they go but the only 2 burger chains we have in town are DQ and McD... so he alternates. Unfortunately it seems EVERY SINGLE time my DH is gone on Saturday and I have to take Brock for his burgers, it falls on a McD Saturday. What are the odds of that, right?
YIKES! I'm sorry about your tooth. UGH! I am glad to hear Nick is doing great, though!
Oh Lynn... I'm sorry you have been unsuccessful in finding a beach house. That would have been a good way for the family to gather. I hope you will find the waters peaceful and the opportunity to reflect on a great guy calming to your spirit. (((HUGS)))
Brock's day was good... but the ballgame was canceled, due to rain.
This week I need to get some DT stuff done... and I'll be getting things ready here for our weekend company. DS and his GF are coming for 4 days! YAY!!!

Jeanette, I'm with you on DT work today. I will be trying to work ahead a bit so I don't have to frantically throw things together at the last minute like I have. The added benefit is that my desk and supplies are right beside the laundry room so I can get that washing machine cranked up and going while keeping a close eye on it! No leaping over furniture today. And yea for a 4 day visit from your son and his girlfriend!

Got up - battled traffic - to get ds to his well appt at 8:30 and dd20's appt at 8:45. They called them both and put them in two different rooms, opposite ends! There I was, running from room to room. Ds had a well check up, plus school forms for 7th grade to be signed/filled out/shots, PLUS sleepaway camp Boy Scout forms that needed to be signed/filled out, and the nurses were juggling those. DD forgot all her paperwork at home, though I reminded her to bring it, had to scramble to get blood redrawn in office, so while she did that, and middle school isn't that far, I thought let me take him so he's not even later.
Except, it wouldn't be THAT simple!! LOL
I get him to school and hear "Uh Oh, I forgot my lunch at home!"
Me: "I reminded you - twice! Here's $5 - stand in line and buy it."
Him: "But I don't know how - I've never bought lunch at middle school!"
Me: "You're a Boy Scout - figure it out! Enjoy! Get out! Kisses! Byyyyyye!"
LOL! Drive back to the dr where dd still wasn't ready but go. By the time I got off the elevator, the receptionist was like "oh dear me, mom, you look like you need a drink!" It's 9 am. Who says that!!! LOL!!! I smiled and said yes. I do. A triple shot of expresso would help! Found dd, got her labs, headed to Bux and then home to walk the pups who were literally looking at me like "Do you HAVE any idea what time it is?" *waving my white flag of surrender!*
Then I realized the dr's office never gave me the referral to the specialist .......
so I get to go allllllllllll the way back over there again after pick ups! LOL!!!
And how was YOUR morning, girls?!!! hee hee!
Oh Lynn, what a wonderful memory to visit the beach and have some time to remember, reflect on your husband's birthday. I am sorry to hear that you weren't able to rent a beach house (hopefully you still can!) Like Susan said, here you need months in advance. I hope something works out for you ♥

Kelly, you have my head spinning with all that you accomplish in a day. I have left the doctor's office without things I came for, too. Such a pain. Because it happened to my husband on more than one occasion, he never left without sitting back down in the waiting room and going through all his scripts and orders carefully before leaving and having the corrections made right then and there. I'm usually in too big a hurry and leave!

I've been busy, how about everyone else? Yesterday I mostly read - LOL! Before you giggle, let me say, it wasn't pleasure reading. I have two books about poverty that MUST be read before the training I'm going to two weeks from today... and I hadn't even started them yet. EEK! I read the shorter of the two on Monday and finished it yesterday. Now I'm going to need to start the other one, which is nearly 300 pages long.
AND... I need to buy groceries, clean house, bake a cake, do laundry, etc (in the next two days) because DS and his GF are coming on Friday! YAY!
I have a meeting today and another one tomorrow. I'm also working on DT stuff.
I hope all of you will have as much fun today as I plan to have!
