I am so excited this week to welcome one of the most inspiring artists on SCS: Cheryl Scrivens (aka CherylQuilts)! She's always around encouraging us all with her warm comments, as well as contributing her own beautiful designs! So, I bet you're going to love the inspiration site that she has selected this week: The Vermont Country Store. The site is jam packed with wonderfully delightful clothing, and other great products, that are sure to inspire you all week! I enjoyed browsing for inspiration (and buying a few fun things too-LOL). Cheryl's Card My Country Floral Greetings
Challenge Goals:* Please don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the site reminds you of it - this is all about creating from an inspiration. So, please take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on your impressions when you look through the images. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, I've uploaded 10 of my favorites. So just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS. Don't forget to let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
Audrie- great website, thanks! I went with a guy card, and got a "wood" background with a combo of dry embossing and swiping my brown ink pad against the panel afterwards. Reminds me of my DS when he was little - inspired by the Wooden Toy Airplane- here's My Tough Guy

Had fun with the VermontCountry Store site, and I was inspired by the Peter Rabbit Book Collection- I re-purposed a thank you card, adding my chipmunk and leaves and acorn images, which I colored and dry embossed. Finished with a country style gold and red checkered tie. Here's Animal Friends

Audrie, what a great choice for a guest designer! You are so right: Cheryl is an incredible artist with a flair for coloring and leaving encouraging comments for everyone. Welcome Cheryl. I'm sorry I've just now arrived home from babysitting grandchildren in Charleston. If all goes according to plan, I'll be able to join everyone else at the Vermont Country Store tomorrow.

Oh, dear Audrie, I should have started off and thanked you for allowing me to hostess this week's challenge! Thank you!! It's been such fun to see the many inspiration photos used for the wonderful cards! I love each one, and I must confess -- I have a "shopping bag" going, and I won't tell you how much is in it. Hehe! Let's just say that I have to "weed" it out a bit! Just love this site, and I think there are lots of other things I could easily be inspired by.
Big hugs to everyone, and I'll be checking in later and tomorrow. We had an internet "interruption" for a while, but we are back again. xoxo
